Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keaktifan dan prestasi belajar siswa kelas XI SMAN 5 Medan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sebelum menggunakan model Examples Non Examples, prestasi belajar siswa masih tergolong rendah, yaitu hanya 20 orang atau 56% yang dapat mencapai ketuntasan belajar sedangkan sisanya yaitu 16 orang atau 44 % belum dapat menguasai materi pembelejaran dengan baik. Setelah dilakukan pembelajaran dengan model Examples Non Examples pada siklus 1, menunjukan skor rata-rata siswa adalah 60,61 dengan 26 (72%) siswa tuntas dan 10 (28%) siswa tidak tuntas. Pada siklus II didapat hasil yang memuaskan yaitu 86% tuntas dengan keaktifitan belajar sejarah yang tinggi. Pada siklus III ketuntasan belajar sejarah siswa mencapai 100%. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar sejarah siswa setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran Examples Non Examples.

Abstract

The Study aims to increase students' understanding of history teachingin the subject matter "Future Political Reform (1998) in Indonesia. Subjects inthis research activity is the fifth semester students of history education, Faculty ofSocial, University of Medan, class A Regular school year 2016/2017. This type ofresearch is classroom action research. Collecting data using observation sheet and test. Collecting data using observation sheet and test. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The study consisted of two cycles with each cycle of four stages.The stages of the implementation is the planning, implementation, observatiol and reflection. The results of the study that (1) PBL Learning model can improve students’ learning comprehension up to 54.09% and (2) ) PBL Learning model can improve students’ achievement of the lesson improved up to 56.77%

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing how the living conditions of the people, especially on the island of Samosir, after the arrival of the colonists to the Batak land. The research method used in this research is using historical methods, namely heuristics or source collection, verification or source criticism, interpretation or interpretation and historiography. Therefore, the data was collected through books and journals that discussed the living conditions of the people, especially on the island of Samosir after the arrival of the colonists to the Batak lands as well as documents in the form of pictures taken from the KITLV magazine. So, the results found from this study are, after the arrival of the colony, namely the Dutch to the Batak land specifically on the island of Samosir, the condition of the community at that time was growing, characterized by more and more types of livelihoods, people's lives also increased, beliefs or spirituality experienced changes, maronan activities (shopping/buying and selling transactions) as economic, social and so on. So, it can be concluded that the arrival of Europeans, especially the Netherlands, had a profound impact on people's lives.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the lifestyle of the Langkat nobles from 1900 to 1942. To obtain the required data, the author collects data using the library study method. The results obtained from this study are the overview of the Malay royalty Langkat. The change of the lifestyle of nobles. At the leadership of Sultan Musa, the noble life ini the Langkat Sultanate is still simple. Next is the peak of the glory of this Langkat Sultanate is when Sultan Abdul Aziz is powerful. He replaced his father is Sultan Musa. Langkat nobles life there was little change in 1900-1942, because in the time was the transitional period of colonial parties. The Dutch colonial nation can be said to be the best time for Malay’s noble class. The results of revenue from the plantation concession of oil and mine oil, Sultan Langkat and the noble classes have privilaged and luxurious life.

Abstract

Abstract: Development of Media in the Form of Infographics in Learning History at the High School Level. This study uses research and development methods that refer to the development stage of Borg & Gall and Dick & Carey. The subjects of the study were the students of class X TKR in Tamansiswa Lubuk Pakam Vocational School. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. The conclusion of this study is that the media in the form of infographics are feasible to be applied in learning, the assessment of the material experts and the media experts are 75% material experts (including Valid criteria) and 85% media experts (including Very valid criteria). Meanwhile, assessments given by students in the one to one test stage, small class test, and large class test were respectively 79% (including Valid criteria); 83.3% (including Very Valid criteria) and 85% (including Very Valid criteria). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the media in the form of infographics meet the eligibility criteria in the history of learning media. Keywords: infographic media, history learning, high school Abstrak: Pengembangan Media Berbentuk Infografis Dalam Pembelajaran Sejarah di Tingkat SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan yang  mengacu pada tahap pengembangan Borg & Gall dan Dick & Carey. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X TKR SMK Swasta Tamansiswa Lubuk Pakam. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan angket. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Media berbentuk Infografis layak diterapkan dalam pembelajaran, penilaian dari ahli materi dan ahli media masing-masing adalah ahli materi 75% (termasuk kriteria Valid) dan ahli media 85% (termasuk kriteria Sangat valid). Sementara itu, penilaian yang diberikan siswa pada tahap uji one to one, uji kelas kecil, dan uji Kelas besar masing-masing secara berturut-turut 79% (termasuk kriteria Valid); 83,3% (termasuk kriteria Sangat Valid) dan 85% (termasuk kriteria Sangat Valid). Berdasarkan  hasil  penelitian  dapat  disimpulkan  bahwa  media berbentuk Infografis memenuhi kriteria  kelayakan  dalam media  pembelajaran sejarah. Kata kunci : media infografis, pembelajaran sejarah, SMA

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan hasil pengamatan dan penelitian yang ditulis  dengan menggunakan metodologi penelitian sejarah yang melewati 4 tahap pengerjaan yaitu mulai dari tahan heuristic, verifikasi ( kritik ekstern/kritik intern), identifikasi, dan historiografi atau penulisan kembali. Dengan berhasil melewatu keempat tahap tersebut, penullis berhasil menulis artikel yang berjudul “ Sejarah Perkembangan Pasar Horas “. Melalui hasil penelitian dan studi literature, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa bangsa Belanda memiliki peranan yang cukup penting dalam pembentukan pasar horas. Dengan bermula hanya bebrapa kios kecil yang berdiri di jalan wihelmina, bagaimana Seoharto mensejahterahkan masyarakat pedagang, aksi 1998, hingga saat ini saat dunia sedang dilanda musibah berupa COVID-19 mengukir sejarah khusunya dalalm b bidang ekonomi dan bidang sosial. Wawanca menunjukkan bahwa hubungan bsosial antara penduduk yang satu dengan yang lain sangatlah harmonis. Perbedaan etnis, agama maupun golongan tak membuat para pedagang harus takut barang dagangannya tidak laku. Hal tersebut telah terbukti melalui sejarah terbentuknya pasar horas sejak tahun 1917 tak satupun pernah terjadi perkelahian antar etnis yang satu dengan yang lain, antara agama maupun golongan. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pasar horas meruapakan daerah toleransi siantar yang sangat menghargai suku, etnis, maupaun agama lain.

Abstract

This study evaluates the prevalence of Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions in Indonesian History textbooks for twelfth-grade students. Utilizing a quantitative research methodology, the study analyzes the first-semester evaluation questions from textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Erlangga, and Grafindo. Employing descriptive statistical techniques, the analysis reveals distinct disparities in the balance of LOTS and HOTS questions. Specifically, the Erlangga textbook contains 82.6% LOTS and 17.4% HOTS questions, while the Grafindo textbook shows a distribution of 96.7% LOTS and 3.3% HOTS questions. Furthermore, a comparative assessment of descriptive questions shows that the Ministry of Education and Culture’s textbook exhibits a ratio of 38.9% LOTS to 61.2% HOTS, Erlangga has 73.4% LOTS to 26.6% HOTS, and Grafindo features 90% LOTS to 10% HOTS. The findings indicate a significant underrepresentation of HOTS-based questions in the analyzed textbooks, suggesting a potential gap in fostering higher-level cognitive skills among students.

Abstract

The Sipincur Geosite is one of the Toba calderas in Humbang Hasundutan, precisely in Pearung Village, Paranginan District. Sipincur Geosite is a natural tourist destination filled with Tusam (pine) plants. A tourist destination that offers beautiful natural views, plants and Lake Toba, makes the Sipincur Geosite visited by many tourists. The opening of the Sipincur Geosite started at the same time as Humbang Hasundutan from North Tapanuli bloomed in 2003. The Sipincur Geosite, which is taken from the word "Pincur" which means steep, makes people or visitors want to see Lake Toba directly. Over time, the development and provision of facilities has resulted in the Sipincur Geosite having a positive impact on the community and government. The existence of Lake Toba, which was made by President Joko Widodo as a priority destination, and the inclusion of Lake Toba as a National and International Geopark, has made Sipincur a priority destination and icon for Humbang Hasundtan Regency. The aim of this research is to find out what is the history and development of the Sipincur Geosite tourist destination as an icon and priority destination for Humbang Hasundutan Regency? The method used in this research is qualitative literature study, by conducting reviews through books, journals or websites, which are supported by facts from Humbang Hasundutan tourism service sources.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach is implemented as a strategy to improve learning outcomes. TaRL adapts learning to students' level of understanding and encourages problem-based learning. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted at SMAN 14 Medan by applying TaRL. The research method used the Kemmis & McTaggart cycle model consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research population was students of SMAN 14 Medan, with a sample of grade X-4 students. In cycle I, although there was an increase, the learning outcomes were still not complete. However, in cycle II, there was a significant improvement with 83.33% of students reaching the minimum completion criteria. These results show that the TaRL approach can improve students' understanding of historical material. In addition, the utilization of technology also helps in increasing student participation and expanding the learning resources that students can access. These findings can help education practitioners develop more effective learning strategies that suit students' needs in understanding historical materials.
