Abstract

Information about the secondary flow formed at the junction is crucial for identifying areas vulnerable to erosion. This study aims to build a water flow simulation at a two-channel junction with varying angles using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The goal of the simulation is to analyze the velocity changes on each variation of angles (90°, 70°, 50°, 30°, and 10°) on the two-channel junction. The validation of these flow patterns is significantly connected to the reference data. The secondary flow is formed as the impact of the velocity changes, and the main channel flow meets the branch channel flow. The flow patterns at the 90° junction exhibit similar formation, as evidenced by secondary zones formed around the junction, such as the contraction and separation zones. The contraction zone forms in areas near junctions with high-velocity values, while the separation zone develops in areas where velocity decreases due to the impact of two flows. This study found that CFD effectively analyses velocity changes on two-channel junctions.

Abstract

This study investigates sedimentation in open channels utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The validation indicates a strong agreement between the simulation and the reference data. Flow velocity substantially decreases in the branched channel post-bifurcation. Similarly, at a 90o bend, there is a notable drop in flow velocity after the curve. A vortex forms in areas where the velocity decreases. Sedimentation prediction can be achieved by observing these velocity reductions in specific channel sections. In the branched channel, low velocities and localized water eddies are found after the bifurcation point. In a channel with a 90o bend, the velocity diminishes on the inner side of the curve, with vortices forming, acting as potential sediment traps. This study highlights the utility of CFD as an effective method for enhancing the understanding of sedimentation processes in river systems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the statistical parameters of bed load grains in Sungai Kakap Waters, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan Province. Bed load sampling was carried out at seven stations, with five sampling points each. The hydrometer test on the sample was carried out to determine the grain type and size of the bed load, and statistical parameter analysis to determine the mean size, sorting, skewness, and kurtosis. The results showed that the fraction of bed load in the form of sand was 38.54%, silt was 42.11%, and clay was 19.28%. The bed load was dominated by three types namely clay loam, loam, and silt loam. Based on the grain size parameters of the bed load, the mean size (in φ units) is 0.94 - 2.24, with the classification of coarse sand to fine sand. The results also showed that the sorting obtained is poorly sorted, the skewness of the sediment is very fine skewed, and the kurtosis is platykurtic.Keywords: bed load; sorting; skewness; kurtosis

Abstract

The Sambas River is part of the watershed of Sambas River which covers 71.03% of the total area of Sambas Regency. This river exhibits a mixed tidal regime with a tendency towards a double daily tide, which can cause sedimentation. Monitoring of this sedimentation can be conducted using remote sensing methods. The aim of this research is to analyze the concentration of suspended sediments based on direct measurements and appropriate algorithm processing. The data processing results from satellite images in 2022 using the Budhiman, Nurandani, and Lestari algorithms have a similar range of values to the direct measurements, ranging from 72 mg/L to 84 mg/L, although there are some data points that fall outside this range. However, the Budhiman algorithm demonstrates the best correlation with the direct measurements. The processed satellite data shows fluctuating values, indicating fluctuations in suspended sediment concentrations. Based on the conducted research, it is evident that the distribution pattern of suspended sediments in a river system can be analyzed using remote sensing techniques.Keywords: Remote Sensing; Suspended Sediment; Watershed

Abstract

A geothermal system is generally associated with faults in geological structures. Therefore, identifying faults in the geothermal system is a critical study. This study aims to identify the presence of faults and to model the geological structure of a geothermal system in the Maninjau Lake area using the gravity method. Indication of the faults is determined based on gradient analysis of the first horizontal derivative (FHD) and second vertical derivative (SVD). While the subsurface structure modelling is done using forward modelling. The data used in this study is gravity disturbance data obtained on the GGMplus page. Based on the study's results, the geothermal system that developed in the Maninjau Lake area was the remnants of magma from the eruption of the Maninjau volcano. This residual magma becomes a heat source that controls the geothermal system in this area, as evidenced by the presence of volcanic rock formations in the form of basaltic andesite, pumice lapilli and basalt rock in the study area. Based on the analysis, the geological structure of the geothermal system in this area is composed of reservoir rock and cap rock. Based on the results of 2D modelling of subsurface geology, the reservoir rock consists of sandstone with a rock density of 2.76 gr/cm3 at a depth of up to 600 m. This study did not detect cover rock because it is located at a very shallow depth. The faults around the hot springs of Lake Maninjau were identified using derivative analysis. This fault can be used as a hydrothermal route for geothermal manifestations in the Maninjau Lake area. Geologically, the geothermal system in the Lake Maninjau area is included in the volcano-tectonic geothermal system.

Abstract

Lapisan akuifer di Komplek Alam Mulia Serdam, Kecamatan Sungai Raya, Kabupaten Kubu Raya telah diidentifikasi menggunakan metode geolistrik resistivitas. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan perangkat alat geolistrik Automatic Resistivity System (ARES) 12 V. Pengukuran di lapangan mengaplikasikan konfigurasi dipol-dipol dengan panjang lintasan 195 m dan jarak antar elektroda 5 m. Sebaran nilai resistivitas yang diperoleh akan dijadikan acuan untuk melakukan interpretasi lapisan bawah permukaan di lokasi penelitian. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan sebaran resistivitas bawah permukaan hingga kedalaman 40,9 m, dengan nilai 5 Ωm - 908 Ωm. Hasil interpretasi menunjukkan bahwa lapisan yang mempunyai nilai resistivitas sebesar 5 Ωm – 10,5 Ωm merupakan lapisan akuifer dengan litologi berupa pasir. Lapisan ini diduga sebagai akuifer dangkal (akuifer bebas), karena berada pada kedalaman ± 6 m – 31,2 m.

Abstract

Pembuangan sampah secara open dumping telah banyak memberikan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan seperti terkontaminasinya air tanah oleh lindi. Interpretasi sebaran lindi di sekitar TPA Salatiga Kabupaten Sambas telah dilakukan menggunakan metode self-potential. Penelitian ini menerapkan 8 buah lintasan dengan panjang masing-masing 150 m, jarak antar lintasan 10 m, dan jarak antar titik porous pot pada lintasan berjarak 10 m. Pengambilan data nilai potensial di lokasi penelitian dilakukan pada 120 titik pengukuran. Hasil pengukuran diperoleh variasi nilai potensial sebelum dilakukan koreksi sebesar -3,18 mV hingga 5,42 mV. Sedangkan variasi nilai potensial setelah dilakukan koreksi bernilai -7,98 mV hingga 6,36 mV. Sebaran lindi bawah permukaan diduga terakumulasi pada area dengan nilai potensial yang relatif lebih kecil dan bernilai negatif. Hasil interpretasi menunjukkan bahwa sebaran lindi mengalir dari arah barat dan terakumulasi pada arah timur hingga timur laut lokasi penelitian.

Abstract

Peningkatan kompetensi dan manajemen karier merupakah hal yang urgen bagi setiap pegawai, baik pegawai swasta maupun Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS). Perencanaan karier dan manajemen karier pada pegawai akan memberikan dampak positif bagi pegawai tersebut dan organisasi. Terkhusus di Kalimantan Barat, berdasarkan Peraturan Gubernur (PERGUB) Provinsi Kalimantan Barat Nomor 48 Tahun 2021 Tentang Manajemen Karier Pegawai Negeri Sipil di Lingkungan Pemerintah Provinsi Kalimantan Barat (2021) tentang Manajemen Karier Pegawai Negeri Sipil, kemudian Pergub No.48 tahun 2021 pada Bab IV Pasal 20 Tentang Pengembangan Kompetensi bahwa setiap PNS memiliki hak dan kesempatan yang sama untuk diikutsertakan dalam pengembangan kompetensi. Pengembangan kompetensi merupakan upaya untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan kompetensi pegawai sesuai dengan standar kompetensi jabatan dan rencana pengembangan karir. Pengembangan kompetensi menjadi dasar pengembangan karier dan menjadi salah satu dasar bagi pengangkatan jabatan. Pelaksanaan pengembangan karier bagi pegawai dilakukan paling rendah 20 (dua puluh) jam pelajaran dalam 1 (satu) tahun. Berdasarkan hasil survey dan wawancara langsung dengan beberapa pegawai di sekitar kabupaten Sanggau, diperoleh informasi bahwa dalam kenaikan jabatan fungsional, pegawai masih kesulitan dalam memetakan kompetensi, manajemen karir. Selain itu, sebagian besar pegawai belum mengenal tools IDP, ada beberapa pegawai telah mengenal tools tersebut tapi belum mampu dan menguasai penggunaannya. Oleh sebab itu suatu hal yang penting bagi pegawai untuk menggunakan startegi agar mampu memetakan kompetensi dan melakukan manajemen karir.

Abstract

The Kapuas River is a river located in West Kalimantan. Especially in Balai Blungai Village, Toba District, Sanggau Regency, this area has an important role in the distribution of goods and the mobility of barges carrying sand and bauxite to the Kapuas estuary. The depth of the river can be determined based on bathymetry data. Bathymetry is a measure of the height and low contour of the water base (depth). The purpose of this study was to determine the variation in river depth and determine recommendations for transportation routes on the Kapuas River channel, Balai Belungai Village, Toba District, Sanggau Regency based on bathymetry data. The research method used is the interpolation method used for bathymetry refinement is the triangulation with linear interpolation method by calculating the value of a point against three points that have the closest distance so that in the end the depth contour value is obtained. The tracks for barymetric data parallel to the river are 3 tracks with a track length of 2.7 km to 4.5 km and 6 tracks intersect the three tracks with a track length of 906 m to 971 m. The distance between measurement points is 3 m. The results of the study showed that the bathymetry and current in the Kapuas River, Balai Belungi Village, Toba District, Sanggau Regency vary, with depths between -2 m to -10 m and surface currents of 1.31 m / s to 2.40 m. The recommended shipping lane for loaded ships and barges is at a depth of -5 m to -10 m, with a shipping lane width of 200 m to 500 m.

Abstract

ABSTRACTSimulation and prediction of extreme waves are important issues in disaster mitigation and coastal infrastructure governance. Kijing Beach is one of the beaches in the West Kalimantan region, Mempawah, which often experiences high wave phenomena, one of which occurred on July 14, 2021, at 02.00 WIB which resulted in the collapse of the connecting road between the pier and the Kijing Port. Information on the mechanism of the occurrence of this large wave is quite important to study in more depth. This research applies a computational approach to fluid dynamics with Delft3D software using input data in the form of tidal components from TPXO 08, surface pressure wind components u and v from the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), and bathymetry data from the General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans (GEBCO). Wave modeling has been successfully carried out, which is validated using tidal data from the Automatic Weather Station (AWS) from the Pontianak Maritime Meteorological Station by showing the percentage value of the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 0.089. The value is included in the small category, and the correlation coefficient value is in a very strong category with a value of 0.96. Significant wave height analysis has also been successfully carried out by analyzing sampling points and spatial models, which show wave height results around Kijing Port ranging from 0.03 m to 0.21 m, and the dominant direction moves from the south to the northwest, north, and northeast.Keywords: Computational Fluid Dynamics, Delft3D, Kijing Beach, Ocean waves, Significant wave height.ABSTRAKSimulasi dan prediksi gelombang ekstrem merupakan suatu isu penting dalam melakukan mitigasi bencana dan tata kelola infrastruktur pesisir pantai. Pantai Kijing merupakan salah satu pantai di wilayah Kalimantan Barat, Mempawah yang sering mengalami fenomena gelombang tinggi, salah satunya terjadi pada tanggal 14 Juli 2021 pukul 02.00 WIB yang mengakibatkan jalan penghubung antara dermaga dan Pelabuhan Kijing roboh. Informasi mekanisme terjadinya gelombang besar ini cukup penting dikaji secara lebih mendalam. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan komputasi dinamika fluida dengan software Delft3D menggunakan data input berupa komponen pasang surut dari TPXO 08, tekanan permukaan komponen angin u dan v dari European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), dan data batimetri dari General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans (GEBCO). Pemodelan gelombang telah berhasil dilakukan yang divalidasi menggunakan data pasang surut dari Automatic Weather Station (AWS) dari Stasiun Meteorologi Maritim Pontianak dengan menunjukkan nilai persentase kesalahan rata-rata absolut atau Mean Absolute Error (MAE) sebesar 0,089 dan nilainya tersebut masuk pada kategori kecil, kemudian untuk nilai koefisien korelasi masuk pada kategori yang sangat kuat dengan nilai sebesar 0,96. Analisis tinggi gelombang signifikan juga telah  berhasil  dilakukan  dengan  menganalisis  sampling point dan spasial model yang menunjukkan hasil tinggi gelombang di sekitar Pelabuhan Kijing berkisar antara 0,03 m hingga 0,21 m dan arahnya dominan bergerak dari arah selatan menuju ke barat laut, utara dan timur laut.Kata kunci: Delft3D, Gelombang laut, Komputasi dinamika fluida, Pantai Kijing, Tinggi gelombang signifikan.
