Science lessons are designed to help students understand natural phenomena and how to live side by side with nature. To build up such understanding, students need to acquire sufficient inquiry skills as part of the expected learning outcomes. However, science learning outcomes of seventh graders at SMP Negeri 1 Payakumbuh for the academic year 2021/2022 are still below the minimum mastery criteria. From observation, we found that students do not participate actively in classroom teaching, teacher do not implement suitable learning model and do not use supporting instructional materials. Environmental pollution is one of the topics in secondary school science that could serve as a context for students to apply their knowledge and 4C skills. This study aims to see the effect of applying the Argument-Driven Inquiry (ADI) learning model assisted with ADI worksheet on science learning outcomes. This quasi-experiment research use Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Data were collected through multiple choice items and observation sheets, then analyzed with descriptive statistics. Our findings suggest that the use of ADI learning model influenced the science learning outcomes of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Payakumbuh. This is indicated by the 0.566 N-Gain of experimental class which is significantly higher than 0.290 of the control class

The learning model is needed so that students can actively research and properly apply the subject matter. POEa is one of them. Utilizing POE as a teaching method can help students learn science. The POE learning model is the subject of this study's literature review. This study tries to ascertain whether educating junior high school students using the POE (Predict, Observe, Explain) paradigm will increase their understanding of scientific concepts. Next, we organize each section by broad topic. Based on selected publications, research data. According to research results, using the POE learning method can improve students' understanding of scientific ideas, help them approach science critically, and improve their academic achievement.

Learning at UPT SMPN 1 Sutera seems to be still low, this is because the learning model used by teachers is still not appropriate and the discussion process has not been carried out well. One way to overcome this problem is to apply the STEM integrated Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This research aims to determine the effect of the STEM integrated Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on student learning outcomes in human respiratory and excretory system material at UPT SMPN 1 Sutera. The type of research used in the research is Quasi Experiment, namely a research method to find the effect of certain treatments on others under controlled conditions. The design used in this research is the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were class VIII students at UPT SMPN 1 Sutera. The sample in this study consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class which were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used consisted of an observation sheet on the implementation of the STEM integrated PBL model, pre-test and post-test questions. The research data obtained was then analyzed through descriptive statistical tests and inferential statistics using SPSS version 25. Based on the results of the analysis in hypothesis testing, it showed that there was a significant average difference between the control and experimental classes. The results of research hypothesis testing were found to be 0.000 and smaller than 0.05. Thus, it can be seen that the significant difference between Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected, so there is an influence. The conclusion from the hypothesis test is that there is a significant influence between students' scores using the STEM integrated PBL learning model. So H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So there is an influence of the STEM integrated PBL model on student learning outcomes.

The centralization of learning through a platform called Geschool to support Learning-From-Home in Padang city gives significant impacts to students’ learning competency, especially for science subject. Geschool provides the same materials and try-outs to all students and each lesson is scheduled at one time for all schools in the city. At this rate, there is a concern that science lesson could not be presented as its nature which is a process of gaining new knowledge which usually include laboratory work. This could lead to difficulty achieving the goal of science learning according to Kurikulum 2013. To address this concern, our team initiated a program to assist science teachers in SMP Negeri 15 and 34 Padang to conduct simple experiments with easily found local materials. Each participant was equipped with a pocket book containing 18 experiments relevant to the material for seventh, eight, and ninth grade. After the program ended, participants were required to submit a video of science experiment they did at home. Students’ responses to quiz and presentations of their own science experiments were taken as a measurement of scientific inquiry. Feedbacks from participants indicate eagerness to include these simple experiments as a part of science lesson onward.. This research is motivated by the limited availability of integrated science teaching materials according to the demands of the 2013 curriculum and learning is not yet based on ethnoscience. This study aims to develop an ethnoscience-based integrated science e-module on the topic of human excretory system that is valid and practical. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using a-4D model with four stages, namely: define, design, develop and disseminate. The validity and practicality test instruments were in the form of a questionnaire with product validators from three science education lecturers, while the practicality test was carried out by 2 science teachers and 26 junior high school students in class VIII. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the data analysis, the validity and practicality of the product were obtained with an average validity of 87.36 with a very valid category. The average value of the practice of using integrated science e-modules according to teachers and students is 92.96 and 86.89, each in the very practical category. So it can be concluded that the shared-type integrated science e-module based on ethnoscience on the human excretory system material is valid and practical to use.

The purpose of the research is to produce the development e-module integrated natural sciences type of shared based on problem-based learning on interaction of living things with the environment matrials. This research uses research and development with 4-D models. 4-D models consist of several stages namely define, design, develop, and disseminate but this research is only limited to the develop stages. The result of the analysis of this research data obtained validity value with a percentage of 93% with a “very valid” category. Result of practicality data analysis by the teachers with a percentage of 89% with a “very practical” category, and result of practicality data analysis by students with a percentage 94% with a “very practical” category. The conclusion of this research is the development of shared type based on problem based learning on the topic of the interaction of living things with the environment is valid and practical.

This study aims to determine the improvement of students in class VIII learning outcomes in Junior High School 1 Koto Kampar Hulu through the implementation of the practicum method. The type of this research was a quasi-experiment with the research design post-test only control group design. Data collection was conducted using the multiple-choice test. Data collection was analyzed using inferential statistics to obtain average scores of student learning outcomes in the control class of 67.14 and experiment class 77.86. Hypothesis testing uses the t-test, and the results show that the null hypothesis is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis is accepted which indicates that there is an effect on the implementation of practicum methods, with an effect size value of 0.84 with a large category indicating that there is a major influence. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that learning science using the practicum method can improve student learning outcomes in class VIII at Junior High School 1 Koto Kampar Hulu

This research was inisiated by the low test results of students in various schools, especially SMPN 40 Padang, which was caused by the application of a learning model that was not suitable for the students' conditions. This study aims to determine the effect of using the Guided Inquiry learning model on learning outcomes of the human digestive system in class VIII students of SMPN 40 Padang. The research design was a quasi-experimental and posttest only non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study were all students of class VIII SMPN 40 Padang consisting of 5 classes with a total of 427 students. The sample for this study used a random sampling technique, so that the selected sample was class VIII3 as the experimental class and class VIII4 as the control class. Data collection used cognitive learning outcomes tests, objective questions and psychomotor assessment sheets that had been validated previously. The results showed that the average value of learning outcomes in the experimental class was 58.8 higher than the control class, which was 42. The results of the hypothesis test used the t-test with tcount (4.670) > ttable (1.677) at a significant level of 0.05 so that H0 was rejected and Ha accepted. Based on these results, the application of the Guided Inquiry learning model has positive effect on students learning outcomes on the topic of digestive system at SMPN 40 Padang.
