Abstract

Ultisol soils i s a kind that experiences problems due to high acidity and Al saturation, low nutrient, and organic matter content, and are sensitive to erosion. Therefore, alternative efforts need to be made to overcome this, one of which is using Frass fertilizer from Black Soldier Fly fly larvae. Frass is the result of bioconversion as a by-product of rearing BSF larvae which contains a large number of nutrients that are useful for plants and also to overcome the problem of Ultisol soil. The purpose of this research knowing the effect of giving BSF Frass and the extent to which Frass fertilizer can replace the need for NPK fertilizer for upland rice (Oryza sativa L.) on Ultisol soil. The experiment was arranged in a factorial completely randomized design consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications Factor A as the total dose; control, 10% Frass, 20%, and 30% Frass, and Factor B as the dose of NPK fertilizer: 100% positive control (according to recommendations), 75%, 50%, and 25%. The results showed that the application of Frass can improve the physical and chemical properties of Ultisol soil, and increase the grain weight of 100 seeds. The combination of giving Frass 30% with 25% NPK had a significant effect on increasing the total chlorophyll content of upland rice leaves when compared to giving Frass with doses of 20% and 10% with all combinations of NPK. However, it was not significantly different when compared to the control combination which received treatment with NPK as much as 100% and 75%.It was concluded that the application of 30% Frass combined with 25% NPK fertilizer had a significant effect on the chlorophyll content of upland rice and had the potential to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers by 25%.

Abstract

The BSF fly (Black Soldier Fly) commonly known as the black soldier fly is an insect whose larvae are widely used as animal feed or commonly known as a maggot. BSF flies only need to drink, and do not eat. BSF fly feeding should be given regularly based on the ambient temperature around the cage. At this time, BSF fly breeders tend to have a busy and congested schedule so the cage spraying schedule is neglected. In addition, human negligence factors such as laziness and forgetting also make the spraying schedule irregular. Spraying of the cage was done manually using a plant sprayer. Therefore, research was conducted on the design of a microcontroller-based BSF fly drinking system. This system can perform automatic spraying of BSF flies based on the high and low temperatures around the cage, as well as provide notifications to the telegram of the BSF fly owner. Based on the study's results, this system detects the temperature around the cage using a DHT22 sensor and then sprays drinking BSF flies with the help of a DC pump. This system can be connected to the internet to send notifications that the cage has been sprayed via the telegram application of the cage owner.

Abstract

Recent scientific developments in the stem cell field have made it possible to create complex organoids, or structures that resemble complete organs, in vitro. In the majority of these methods, stem cells produced from stem cells or tissue progenitors are allowed to self-organize into three-dimensional (3D) structures using culture systems in three dimensions. The purpose of this study is to ascertain the use of organoid culture in the area of health. This kind of study employs the literature review methodology. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) criteria are referenced throughout the stages of the literature review performed in this study. The four processes that make up this level are identification, screening, eligibility, and acceptance. These discoveries showing that human stem cells and patient-derived pluripotent stem cells can be used to generate organoids open up a wide range of opportunities for modeling and disease development, toxicological research and medication discovery, and the field of regenerative medicine. Here, we discuss some of the most significant recent advancements in 3D human organoid production as well as the field's historical advancements. Finally, we discuss present restrictions and provide illustrations of how organoid technology may be used in the healthcare industry.

Abstract

AbstractInflammation is a serious problem that needs to be treated. The use of steroid and non-steroidal drugs can treat inflammation well, but long-term use causes many side effects. So, it is necessary to use effective natural medicinal ingredients, one of which is velvet bean leaves (Mucuna pruriens L. (DC.)). This study aims to analyze the effect of velvet bean leaf ointment on the level of leukocyte components in mice experiencing inflammation. This research method was an experiment with a completely randomized design consisting of 6 treatment groups (normal, negative control, positive control (ketoconazole ointment)), velvet bean leaf ointment treatment at doses of 200, 400, and 600 mg/kgBW. The results showed that the use of velvet bean leaf ointment at doses of 200 and 400 mg/kgBW was able to significantly reduce the quantity of total leukocytes and monocytes in mice compared to the negative control (P <0.05); ointment at a dose of 200 mg/kgBW was able to significantly reduce the quantity of granulocytes and lymphocytes in mice compared to the negative control (P <0.05). The ability of velvet bean leaf ointment at a dose of 200 mg/kgBW is better in reducing the leukocyte quantity component compared to commercial drugs (ketoconazole ointment). Therefore, velvet bean leaf ointment at a dose of 200 mg/kgBW has great potential to be developed into an effective standardized anti-inflammatory drug.AbstrakInflamasi merupakan masalah serius yang perlu ditangani. Penggunaan obat steroid dan nonsteroid dapat mengatasi inflamasi dengan baik, namun penggunaan jangka panjang menimbulkan banyak efek samping. Maka dari itu perlu digunakan bahan obat alami yang efektif, salah satunya adalah daun kacang miang (Mucuna pruriens L. (DC.)). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh salep daun kacang miang terhadap kadar komponen leukosit pada mencit yang mengalami inflamasi. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap yang terdiri dari 6 kelompok perlakuan (normal, kontrol negatif, kontrol positif (salep ketokonazol)), perlakuan salep daun kacang miang dosis 200, 400, dan 600 mg/kgBB. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan salep daun kacang miang dosis 200 dan 400 mg/kgBB mampu menurunkan kuantitas total leukosit dan monosit mencit secara bermakna dibandingkan dengan kontrol negatif (P <0,05); Salep daun kacang miang dosis 200 mg/kgBB mampu menurunkan jumlah granulosit dan limfosit pada mencit secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan kontrol negatif (P <0,05). Kemampuan salep daun kacang miang dosis 200 mg/kgBB lebih baik dalam menurunkan komponen jumlah leukosit dibandingkan dengan obat komersial (salep ketokonazol). Oleh karena itu, salep daun kacang miang dosis 200 mg/kgBB memiliki potensi besar untuk dikembangkan menjadi obat antiinflamasi terstandar yang efektif.

Abstract

Activation of nuclear factor-kB (NF-ĸB) receptors potently enhances pro-inflammatory cytokines production thereby promoting inflammatory reactions. NF-ĸB receptor inhibition is one of the targets in overcoming inflammatory reactions. One of the natural ingredients that have the potential as an anti-inflammatory is velvet bean leaf extract (Mucuna pruriens L. (DC.)) which is used by the local people of West Sumatra. This study aimed to investigate the anti-inflammatory mechanism of the bioactive compounds detected in velvet bean leaf extract against NF-ĸB (1U36) activation pathway using an in silico approach. The phytochemical analysis of the ethanolic extract of velvet bean leaves was performed using GC-MS. Subsequently, their potential bioactivities were explored using PASS online test, preparation of ligands, receptors, and molecular docking. The results showed that the 34 compounds contained in the miang bean leaf extract had anti-inflammatory bioactivity with a probability activity value of >0.7 based on PASS online. The docking results showed that the highest binding affinity value was found in artemin (-7.5 kcal/mol) which was higher than the standard anti-inflammatory drug ketoconazole (-7.2 kcal/mol). Therefore, one of the mechanisms of miang bean leaves as an anti-inflammatory is due to the inhibitory action of artemin on the NF-kB activation pathway.

Abstract

Neurodegenerasi adalah penyakit yang mengakibatkan degenerasi progresif dan kematian sel saraf di otak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap khasiat neuroprotektif ekstrak biji teratai (Nymphaea pubescens Willd) melalui analisis perilaku neurokognitif. Sebanyak 25 ekor mencit jantan dibagi secara acak menjadi 5 perlakuan: kontrol negatif (Na-CMC 0,5%), kontrol positif diinduksi trimetiltin (TMT) 0,6mg/kgBB, dan pemberian ekstrak biji teratai (100, 200, dan 400 mg/kgBB). Induksi degenerasi otak dengan TMT menggunakan dosis tunggal secara intraperitoneal. Ekstrak diberikan tiga hari pasca injeksi TMT secara oral setiap hari selama 28 hari. Pada akhir perlakuan, tes neurobehavioral dilakukan meliputi uji kecerdasan memori dengan Hebb-Williams Maze, uji keingintahuan dengan Hole-Board dan uji interaksi sosial. Selanjutnya dilakukan pengukuran indeks organ otak. Data dianalisis secara statistik dengan One-Way Anova dilanjutkan dengan uji DNMRT (P<0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak biji teratai dosis 200 dan 400 mg/kgBB secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan kecerdasan kognitif (memori, keingintahuan dan interaksi sosial) pada mencit yang diinduksi TMT, namun tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap indeks bobot otak. Temuan penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa biji teratai adalah kandidat kuat untuk sumber obat anti-neurodegeneratif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas layanan bimbingan kelompok teknik modelling untuk meningkatkan self-efficacy siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan jenis quasi eksperiment design. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 2 Saketi yang berjumlah 75 siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 28 siswa yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol yang masing-masing berjumlah 14 orang dalam satu kelompok. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen skala self-efficacy yang disusun oleh peneliti. Skala tersebut telah melalui uji validitas dengan menggunakan expert judgment dan dinyatakan dengan validitas. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah diberikan treatment terdapat perbedaan skor rata-rata pretest dan posttest. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan hasil uji t diperoleh Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) adalah 0,000 < 0,05. Intervensi yang dapat disimpulkan yakni adanya perbedaan skor self-regulated learning kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Dengan demikian dapat dimaknai bahwa layanan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik modelling efektif untuk meningkatkan self-efficacy siswa di kelas VIII di SMPN 2 Saketi Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025..

Abstract

The issue of organic waste in Padang City is increasing due to the community's high activity level, which predominantly generates food waste. Currently, food waste accounts for 63% of the total waste in Padang City. The Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot is an effective agent for processing organic waste, requiring simple technology that is cost-efficient and easy to implement. BSF maggots also produce biomass with a high protein content that can be utilized as animal feed. The methods used in this study include socialization, education, direct field practice, and evaluation. The results demonstrated an increase in community understanding and interest in BSF maggot cultivation as a means to reduce organic waste. Participants also learned about the TOSS (Solid Waste Processing Technology at the Source) method for managing leaf and twig waste. This activity was expected to serve as a waste management model that reduces waste volume and creates opportunities within the circular economy, where organic waste is converted into valuable resources.

Abstract

Abstract:This research aims to; know the feasibility of physics learning media in the form of pocket book based on android on static fluid material. This research uses research and development (R and D) method with Borg and Gall model which adapted from Sugiono development model. The data of this study were obtained from questionnaires of educators and learners' responses, questionnaire validation of material experts and media experts. The type of data produced is qualitative data which is analyzed by guidance criteria of assessment category to determine product quality. The result of this study is based on the assessment of the average material percentage of 79,85% worthy of the assessment criteria, the media expert's assessment of the average percentage of 87.96% of the category is very reasonable and the assessment of teachers of SMA / SMK assessment of the average percentage of 87.77% category is very feasible, while the respondents' responses to the three schools average percentage value of 83.92% very feasible category. Based on the assessment by material experts, media experts, educators and students' response, it can be concluded that the android-based physics pocket book worthy of use as a medium of learning.  Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk; mengetahui kelayakan media pembelajaran fisika berupa buku saku berbasis android pada materi fluida statis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R and D) dengan model Borg and Gall yang diadaptasi dari model pengembangan Sugiono.Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari angket respon pendidik dan peserta didik, angket validasi ahli materi dan ahli media. Jenis data yang dihasilkan adalah data kualitatif yang dianalisis dengan pedoman kriteria kategori penilaian untuk menentukan kualitas produk.Hasil penelitian ini berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi penilaian persentase rata-rata 79,85% kategori layak, penilaian ahli media penilaian persentase rata-rata  87,96 % kategori sangat layak dan penilaian guru SMA/SMK penilaian persentase rata-rata sebesar 87,77% kategori sangat layak, sedangkan  respon peserta didik ketiga sekolah nilai presentase rata-rata sebesar 83,92% kategori sangat layak. Berdasarkan penilaian oleh  ahli materi, ahli media, pendidik danrespon peserta didik maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa buku saku fisika berbasis android layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran.

Abstract

Pengolahan sampah makanan belum dilakukan di Pusat Pengolahan Sampah Terpadu (PPST) Kampus Universitas Andalas Limau Manis. Untuk itu dilakukan kajian terhadap pengolahan sampah makanan menggunakan Larva BSF dari aspek teknis, ekonomi dan lingkungan. Kajian aspek teknis dilakukan dengan menganalisis timbulan, komposisi, karakteristik sampah makanan yang berasal dari kantin dan Instalasi Gizi Rumah Sakit Universitas Andalas serta menganalisis kebutuhan lahan dan fasilitas. Kajian aspek ekonomi dilakukan dengan menghitung biaya investasi dan operasional, biaya pendapatan dari penjualan produk dan menganalisis kelayakan investasi. Kajian aspek lingkungan dilakukan dengan penilaian dampak lingkungan yang dilakukan responden yang terdiri dari tenaga peneliti dan praktisi dalam pengolahan sampah makanan dengan Larva BSF. Dari hasil kajian aspek teknis, ekonomi dan lingkungan diperoleh pengolahan sampah makanan menggunakan Larva BSF layak diterapkan di PPST Universitas Andalas dengan kapasitas pengolahan sebesar 112 kg/h dan kebutuhan lahan 9 m2. Biaya investasi yang dibutuhkan sebesar Rp13.117.000 dengan biaya operasional Rp38.006.400. Pendapatan dari penjualan produk diperkirakan sebesar Rp62.186.880. Hasil kelayakan investasi diperoleh nilai NPV Rp88.739.978, BCR 1,512, IRR 183%, dan PP 1 tahun 6 bulan.  Dari kuisioner diperoleh penilaian untuk dampak positif lebih besar dibandingkan penilaian untuk dampak negatif. Untuk itu direkomendasikan adanya kegiatan pemilahan sampah makanan di sumber, penyediaan parasarana dan sarana, peningkatan kadar air sampah makanan serta kerjasama dalam pemasaran produk yang dihasilkan.
