Abstract

Sektor pertanian sangat berperan dalam penyerapan tenaga kerja. Generasi muda adalah generasi terbesar dalam angkatan kerja. Tantangan regenerasi muda pertanian saat ini: minat generasi muda yang kurang dalam keterlibatan dalam profesi pertanian, adanya pemikiran bidang-bidang selain pertanian lebih menjanjikan secara ekonomi dibanding sebagai petani, petani usia lanjut mendominasi dibanding dengan generasi muda yang berminat menjadi petani dan bertani merupakan adat istiadat, bukan menjadi profesi. Tantangan regerasi pertanian ini sedang di alami di Kota Pekanbaru, dimana jumlah petani muda relative kecil (7,41%) dibandingkan dengan petani usia lanjut (92,59%). Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis persepsi dan pemanfaatan media sosial generasi muda terhadap sektor pertanian dalam penerapan digitalisasi humanities. Penelitian menggunakan metode survey, sampel ditentukan dengan metode simple random sampling. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 120 sampel. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan skala Likert’s Summated Rating. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan dominan pemuda sudah memiliki 2-4 akun jenis faltfoam media sosial. Akun media sosial yang banyak digunakan adalah Whatsapp, Tiktok, Facebook dan Instagram. Dari empat aspek pemanfaatan media sosial, aspek kemudahan penggunaan media sosial memiliki nilai tertinggi dengan kategori sangat baik. Tingkat persepsi generasi muda terhadap sektor pertanian masuk dalam kategori baik. Dilihat dari faktor personal indikator yang memiliki niai tertinggi adalah motifasi terhadap sektor pertanian, sedangkan faktor lingkungan indikator yang memiliki nilai tertinggi adalah indikator penggunaan dan manfaat media sosial.

Abstract

The Design Investigation Survey (SID) activity is a program by the Ministry of Agriculture aimed at utilizing swamp land to enhance food production through land optimization. The target location for land optimization in Rokan Hilir Regency is situated in Mukti Jaya Village, Rimba Melintang District. This community service activity aims to provide knowledge and guidance regarding the SID land optimization program to rice farmers in Mukti Jaya Village. This activity is beneficial for aligning perceptions regarding the requirements that serve as a reference for the SID land optimization activities, the necessary data, and the forms of assistance provided to improve land productivity and rice planting indices. The methodology involves outreach and guidance directed at the target  farmer groups. Outreach will cover the requirements and supporting data necessary for SID land optimization. Guidance will consist of directions regarding the infrastructure to be developed for optimizing land and its budgeting. There is a priority scale and budget provisions that will serve as a reference for communicating urgent needs in the field. The results of this community service activity indicate that (a) participants understand the importance of the SID land optimization program and its benefits for farmers, and (b) participants are aware of the criteria, requirements, and implementation provisions of the SID OPLA program from the Ministry of Agriculture, as well as the data that farmer groups need to provide.

Abstract

This study examines strategies to strengthen the self-reliance of smallholder coffee farmers in the Gayo Highlands, focusing on Bener Meriah and Central Aceh Regencies, which are recognized centers of Gayo Arabica coffee production. A strategic analysis approach was applied using the Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) and External Factor Evaluation (EFE) matrices to assess farmers’ internal strengths and weaknesses alongside external opportunities and threats. The IFE analysis produced a total score of 2.37, indicating a moderate level of internal capacity, driven by long experience in coffee cultivation, strong social cohesion, and favorable agro-climatic conditions. In contrast, the EFE score of 1.98 reflects a relatively weak ability to respond to external dynamics, including global price fluctuations, climate change impacts, and limited market access. Integrating these results into the Internal–External (IE) Matrix places smallholder coffee farmers in Quadrant VI, corresponding to a “Hold and Maintain” strategic posture. This position suggests that empowerment efforts should consolidate existing strengths while addressing vulnerabilities to external pressures. Recommended strategies include upgrading post-harvest technology, expanding direct market access, improving cooperative management, and strengthening climate resilience—steps expected to support sustainable coffee production, reduce dependence on intermediaries, and enhance the competitiveness of Gayo coffee in an increasingly dynamic global market.

Abstract

Through this activity, it is hoped that the capacity and competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bencah Lesung Village can be improved in the utilization of e-commerce as a business development strategy. The main problems faced by partners are low digital literacy and limitations in marketing products online. The implementation method involves socialization and hands-on practice using Facebook as a digital marketing platform. The activity was evaluated using pre-test and post-test instruments to measure the effectiveness of participants' understanding. The results showed a significant increase in various indicators, such as understanding of e-commerce concepts, the ability t o create marketplace accounts, and online promotion strategies, with improvements ranging from 28% to 57%. This activity has proven effective in enhancing the digital marketing skills of SME operators, although some participants still require further guidance to achieve independent technical proficiency. This initiative is expected to serve as the first step toward the digital transformation of SMEs, strengthening the competitiveness of locally-based technology-driven businesses.

Abstract

This study explores local potential-based rural development in Saree Village, Aceh Besar District, Indonesia. Saree holds significant promise as an agrotourism destination rooted in conservation and education. The village is endowed with rich natural assets, including Pocut Meurah Intan Grand Forest Park, Mount Seulawah Agam and Seulawah Inong, and the Saree Elephant Training Center, all of which support the development of sustainable ecotourism. These advantages are complemented by the presence of an Agro Techno Park and an integrated farming system producing key commodities such as avocados, red chilies, and tomatoes. This qualitative descriptive research employed field observations, interviews with local stakeholders, and literature reviews to identify and analyze the village’s local potentials. The Business Model Canvas (BMC) was applied as an analytical framework to map out the integration of local resources into tourism-based economic development.  Economically, over 65% of Saree's population depends on the agricultural sector, supported by training institutions such as Agro Saree Aceh that promote sustainable and technology-based farming. Collaborative efforts among local communities, village-owned enterprises (BUMG), government agencies, and the private sector play a crucial role in shaping Saree as an educational tourism village. The findings indicate that local resources can be effectively transformed into community-based tourism products that generate income, enhance local capacity, and preserve environmental sustainability. Key success factors include digital marketing strategies, human resource development, and infrastructure improvement.

Abstract

Lahan gambut mempunyai potensi dalam pengembangan tanaman kopi khususnya kopi liberika. CV. Zaroha merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang pengolahan kopi liberika dalam klasifikasi industri ekstraktif. CV. Zaroha memulai bisnis pengolahan kopi liberika sejak tahun 2013 dengan produk kopi green bean, kopi sangrai, dan kopi bubuk. Meningkatkan kapasitas produksi CV. Zaroha ingin mengelola industri kopi secara berkelanjutan. Rantai pasok pada industri kopi bertujuan untuk kelangsungan bisnis dan memberikan nilai maksimal kepada pelanggan utama dengan biaya minimal. Tujuan penelitian adalah: (1) Menganalisis rantai pasok industri kopi CV. Zaroha; dan (2) Menganalisis hambatan/kendala industri kopi CV. Zaroha. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode survei dan teknik pengambilan responden dilakukan dengan cara purposive sampling. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis kualitatif dan analisis kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menyatakan: 1) Rantai pasok di hulu berjalan sangat baik, pasokan kayu gelondongan kopi mentah dihasilkan dari 70% kebun masyarakat dan 30% CV. Zaroha, harga bahan baku kopi (ceri kopi) berkisar Rp 3.000-3.500/kg. CV. Zaroha membutuhkan bahan baku berupa buah kopi sebanyak satu ton/hari; 2) Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh CV. Zaroha dalam rantai pasoknya adalah harga jual yang tinggi mengakibatkan minimnya permintaan konsumen dalam negeri dan tanaman kopi milik CV. Zaroha yang tidak produktif (20 tahun).

Abstract

Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu, yang terletak di Provinsi Riau, Indonesia, memiliki ekonomi yang didominasi oleh sektor pertanian dan perkebunan, terutama kelapa sawit dan karet. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pertumbuhan ekonomi daerah serta daya saing sektor-sektor utama yang ada di Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu. Berdasarkan data Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB), kontribusi sektor-sektor utama terhadap ekonomi daerah, serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi daya saing, diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran yang lebih jelas tentang potensi dan tantangan yang dihadapi oleh daerah ini. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa meskipun sektor pertanian, terutama kelapa sawit, menjadi sektor unggulan, tantangan berupa ketergantungan pada komoditas tunggal dan keterbatasan infrastruktur perlu diatasi untuk meningkatkan daya saing dan mencapai pertumbuhan ekonomi yang berkelanjutan. Indragiri Hulu Regency, located in Riau Province, Indonesia, has an economy dominated by the agricultural and plantation sectors, especially oil palm and rubber. This paper aims to analyze the regional economic growth and competitiveness of the main sectors in Indragiri Hulu Regency. Based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) data, the contribution of the main sectors to the regional economy, as well as the factors that influence competitiveness, are expected to provide a clearer picture of the potential and challenges faced by this region. The results of the analysis show that although the agricultural sector, especially oil palm, is a leading sector, challenges in the form of dependence on a single commodity and limited infrastructure need to be overcome to increase competitiveness and achieve sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

Biji pinang merupakan komoditas pertanian yang mampu menjadi pengekspor terbesar di dunia. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2022 - Februari 2023. Data yang digunakan adalah data time series selama 10 tahun (2012-2021). Data sekunder yang dikumpulkan, meliputi: nilai ekspor impor biji pinang Indonesia, Myanmar, India, Sri lanka dan negara sisa. Sumber data BPS RI, Kementerian Perdagangan RI, Food and Agriculture Organization dan United Nations Commodity Trade Statistics Database (UN Comtrade). Analisis menggunakan analisis Indeks Spesialisasi Perdagangan. Hasil analisis memperlihatkan Indeks Spesialisasi perdagangan (ISP), Indonesia pada periode 2012-2021 stabil pada tahap kematangan dengan nilai 0,99. Thailand pada periode tahun 2012-2021 cenderung menurun, Tahun 2012-2014 Thailand berada pada tahap kematangan dengan nilai 0,99 namun turun pada tahap pertumbuhan ekspor tahun 2015 menjadi 0,47 kemudian naik pada tahun 2016-2019 nilai nya 0,90 pada tahap kematangan dan turun kembali tahun 2020-2021 menjadi 0,16 pada tahap pertumbuhan ekspor. Myanmar dengan perkembangan yang cenderung naik dari tahun 2012 dengan nilai 0,57 berada pada tahap perkembangan ekspor dan pada tahun 2021 berada di tahap kematangan ekspor dengan nilai 1. Sri Lanka dengan perkembangan berfluktuatif. Pada tahun 2012-2013 berada pada tahap kematangan dengan nilai 0,99 kemudian turun pada tahun 2014-2015 di tahap pertumbuhan ekspor dan naik kembali pada tahun 2016-2017 pada tahap kematangan lalu turun kembali tahun 2018 pada tahap pertumbuhan ekspor dan pada tahun 2019-2021 naik pada tahap kematangan ekspor.

Abstract

Generasi muda merupakan generasi terbesar di angkatan kerja yang berpengaruh pada perkembangan sektor pertanian kedepannya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis profil generasi muda sektor pertanian dan merancangan digital humanities dalam menarik minat generasi muda di sektor pertanian. Kriteria sampel yang digunakan adalah pemuda berumur 15-35 tahun yang terkait dengan sektor pertanian. Total sampel berjumlah 120 sampel (masing-masing diambil 40 orang pemuda yang telah bekerja di sektor pertanian, pemuda yang belajar di sektor pertanian ataupun belum pernah bekerja di sektor pertanian). Pengambilan sampel dilakukan simple random sampling. Tujuan pertama dianalisis deskriptif dan tujuan kedua dianalisis dengan design thinking. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden didominasi laki-laki, berusia >14-28 tahun, pendidikan terakhir SMA/SMK, jumlah anggota keluarga 4-5 jiwa, pekerjaan orang tua petani, dan pendapatan orang tua ≥ Rp.5.000.000/bulan. Generasi muda memiliki persepsi negatif terhadap sektor pertanian, karena dianggap membutuhkan biaya dan risiko kegagalan yang tinggi. Penelitian ini merancang aplikasi AgriNext, yang bertujuan memberikan edukasi, inovasi, dan akses informasi pertanian melalui teknologi digital. Implementasi digitalisasi diharapkan mampu menarik minat generasi muda berkontribusi dalam pertanian yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study examines Rumah Makan Tiga Putri, a culinary business located near Universitas Riau that offers Minang dishes at affordable prices. Despite its strategic location and a market potential dominated by students, the business faces challenges in optimizing its marketing strategy, especially in visual media promotion. The promotional banner, which is unattractive and lacks clear information, reduces the effectiveness of visibility in attracting and engaging consumers. This study explains the implementation of the design thinking process in redesigning the promotional banner for Rumah Makan Tiga Putri. The purpose of this study is to describe the stages of design thinking in optimizing visual communication effectiveness to increase consumer reach and visibility. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach by applying the stages of design thinking: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with owners and consumers, comparisons with academic colleagues, and questionnaires using a Likert scale to measure perceptions of the banner's visual aspects. The findings show that the implementation of design elements related to imagery, color, typography, information clarity, and the integration of visual elements with Minang cultural characteristics can improve visual communication effectiveness and strengthen brand identity. The proposed solution is a redesigned banner that is informative, aesthetically pleasing, and culturally representative of Minang identity. Positive responses from participants indicate that applying design thinking is effective in optimizing banner design as visual promotional media, improving visibility and accessibility of business information for potential consumers around the Universitas Riau area.
