Abstract

Penggunaan media digital sudah bukan hal yang baru lagi pada saat ini semua bisa sangat mudah untuk di akses, begitu juga dengan pelayanan administrasi juga bisa di permudah dengan pemanfaatan media digital. Penelitian ini membahas tentang penggunaan silayak pada Fakultas Hukum Unand padang dalam mempemudah porses administrasi mahasiswa. Teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) dan paradigma penelitian post positivisme dengan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan studi kasus. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemanfaatan new media sebagai sarana komunikasi dalam pelayanan satu pintu di Fakultas Hukum Universitas Andalas telah berjalan dengan baik, di tandai dengan banyak nya mahasiswa yang mendaftar dan menggunakan aplikasi tersebut. Fakultas Hukum Universitas Andalas telah menerapkan inovasi dan kreativitas ini dengan membuat sebuah aplikasi sistem layanan akademik berbasis web yang bertujuan untuk memudahkan mahasiswa dalam pengurusan surat-surat yang berhubungan dengan akademik, seperti surat aktif kuliah, surat magang, surat penelitian, pengajuan untuk ujian proposal, ujian seminar proposa, ujian kompre dan surat keterangan lulus dengan menfaatkan media digital dalam berkomunikasi. Oleh karena itu, Sistem informasi layanan akademik di Fakultas Hukum Universitas Andalas berpengaruh terhadap instansi itu sendiri karena mampu meefisienkan dan mengefektifkan waktu.

Abstract

Communication is very important in the continuity and success of an interaction both in everyday life and in organizational life. In the communication process, a communicator conveys a message to the communicant using the media. Media as an expansion of information is increasingly developing until emerging communication technology. Smartphones are concrete manifestations of technological advancements created to make it easier for humans to communicate. The growth of communication technology is also marked by an increase in social media. WhatsApp is one of the social media that is widely used for the purpose of socializing or as a message delivery both individuals and groups. Various facilities offered by WhatsApp, in addition to sharing messages between individuals, WhatsApp is also used for work purposes. With the various facilities and uses offered by WhatsApp, it attracts the interest of Bukittinggi Class II Rehabilitation center employees, so that employees can communicate with each other and deliver messages or information related to the tasks and functions of the agency. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting a study entitled "Using the Whatsapp Application in Organizational Communication at Class II Rehabilitation center in Bukittinggi". This research is included in a descriptive study, which is a study conducted by collecting all key data in the form of words, pictures and data excerpts to provide an overview of the presentation of a research report. The data collection method is done through unstructured interviews and data analysis techniques are carried out using qualitative analysis methods according to Mile Hubermas (2007). From the research it was found that the Class II Rehabilitation center Bukittinggi has the main tasks namely; assistance, guidance, supervision of children in conflict with the law (ABH) and provide guidance and supervision of correctional clients as well as dealing with other law enforcement officials such as; the police, prosecutors and judges, therefore need effective communication media such as the WhatsApp application to speed up the delivery of information. so as to encourage the acceleration of the duties and functions of employees, especially in the handling of children who are dealing with the law (ABH).

Abstract

Fenomena penggunaan media internet dalam meningkatkan keterbukaan informasi publik di instansi pemerintah merupakan sebuah implementasi pengelolaan Cyber Public Relations. Pengelolaan Cyber Public Relations memiliki keterkaitan dengan kemajuan teknologi khususnya dalam memanfaatkan media internet sebagai sarana penyebaran informasi publik. Perkembangan media internet melibatkan Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) sebagai pengelola Cyber Public Relations dan juga tidak luput dari proses komunikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengalaman dan konsep komunikasi dari pengelola Cyber Public Relations  dalam meningkatkan keterbukaan informasi publik yang dilakukan oleh pegawai pengelola Dinas Komunikasi dan Informasi (Diskominfo) Kota Pariaman. Dalam penelitian ini metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teori fenomenologi Edmund Hussrel, sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara, dan mengumpulkan dokumentasi terkait. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa pengalaman dan konsep komunikasi yang baik menghasilkan makna pengelolaan Cyber Public Relations Diskominfo Kota Pariaman dalam meningkatkan keterbukaan informasi publik. 1. Pengalaman pengelolaan Cyber Public Relations ditingkatkan dengan melakukan perencanaan, pengelolaan, pengembangan dan evaluas kinerja. 2. Konsep pengelolaan Cyber Public Relations dilakukan dengan melakukan Dialog Interaksi untuk meningkatkan kreativitas pengelola dalam menyajikan keterbukaan informasi publik. 3. Makna yang didapatkan oleh pengelola Cyber Public Relations adalah menerima kritik dan saran guna meningkatkan pemahaman pengelola Cyber Public Relations sehingga kualitas informasi yang dibagikan menjadi menarik dan lebih bervariasi.

Abstract

Abstrak Pelatihan jurnalistik merupakan salah satu upaya strategis untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis rilis berita bagi mahasiswa, khususnya anggota Himpunan Mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi se-Sumatera Barat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang dasar-dasar jurnalistik, teknik penulisan berita yang sesuai dengan kaidah 5W+1H, serta praktik langsung menyusun rilis berita yang menarik dan informatif. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyampaian materi oleh praktisi jurnalistik, diskusi interaktif, dan latihan menulis dengan supervisi. Hasil dari pelatihan ini mampu meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menyampaikan informasi secara efektif, meningkatkan kepercayaan diri mereka dalam bidang jurnalistik, serta mendukung peran aktif mereka dalam mempublikasikan kegiatan organisasi. Hal terlihat dari artikel rilis yang ditulis oleh peserta dan dikrim ke media massa sudah langsung diterbitkan. Pelatihan ini dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan. Pertama, memulai pelatihan dengan workshop penulisan rilis dan berita. Kedua, melakukan FGD dengan peserta, dan ketiga, praktik menulis rilis berita secara langsung. Pelatihan ini juga bertujuan untuk menciptakan komunitas mahasiswa yang lebih kompeten dalam menghadapi tantangan di dunia komunikasi dan media.   Kata Kunci:  Jurnalistik, Himpunan Mahasiswa, Rilis Berita     Abstract Journalistic training is one of the strategic efforts to improve the ability to write press releases for students, especially members of the Communication Science Student Association throughout West Sumatra. This activity aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the basics of journalism, news writing techniques following the 5W+1H rules, and direct practice in compiling exciting and informative news releases. The methods used include the delivery of material by journalistic practitioners, interactive discussions, and writing exercises with supervision. The results of this training can improve students' ability to convey information effectively, increase their confidence in journalism, and support their active role in publicizing organizational activities. This can be seen from the release articles written by participants and creamed to the mass media immediately published. This training is carried out through three stages. First, start the training with a release and news writing workshop. Second, conducting FGDs with participants, and third, practicing writing news releases directly. This training also aims to create a more competent student community facing communication and media challenges.   Keywords: Journalism, Press Release, Student Association

Abstract

The province of West Sumatra offers a variety of tourist attractions, one of which is the contemporary culinary scene in Padang Panjang. This city attracts visitors from various regions within West Sumatra as well as from outside the province. The diversity of culinary offerings, including both traditional and modern dishes, makes Padang Panjang a popular culinary destination. This research aims to explore tourists' perceptions of the night culinary market in Padang Panjang, which has become one of the city's main attractions. The study uses a qualitative approach to delve into the dynamics of communication between traders and customers at the market. Data was collected through direct observation, interviews with traders and visitors, and document analysis. The research findings show that the harmony of interactions at the culinary market is achieved through various communication strategies, including intercultural, interpersonal, and non-verbal communication. The study identifies two prominent communication patterns: the use of easily understood language and smiling as practical strategies to connect traders and customers from diverse backgrounds. Tourists' perceptions of the culinary market indicate that the food stalls offer high-quality food, which leaves them satisfied and eager to return.

Abstract

The development of communication technology also refers to the evolution of social media, which provides numerous benefits for its users. Journalists, in carrying out their work, have also undergone a transformation by optimising social media as an initial source of news. This research discusses the transformation of journalists in the digital era, focusing on optimising social media in covering news. The aim of this research is to analyse the use of social media by exploring the challenges and opportunities faced by journalists in utilising these platforms to obtain information, interact with audiences, and disseminate news swiftly and widely while adhering to the Journalistic Code of Ethics. This study is qualitative research employing a case study approach, with data collection methods involving in-depth interviews with journalists from various media outlets in Indonesia. The results of this research indicate, first, that the role of social media has evolved into a crucial element in modern journalistic practice. Social media, initially regarded as a social platform, has now become a primary source of information for journalists when commencing news coverage. The rapid dissemination of information via social media facilitates journalists' access to real-time data, the latest news, and public opinion. The Codes of Ethics serve as a guide to ensure that, despite information originating from social media, the verification process, objectivity, and balance of news remain paramount.

Abstract

The profession of mobile female masseuses has unique dynamics, particularly in their interactions with clients. Effective interpersonal communication plays a key role in building trust and comfort, which are crucial for the sustainability of their profession. This study employs a phenomenological approach to explore the subjective experiences of mobile female masseuses in Yogyakarta, focusing on their communication strategies and the reasons behind choosing this profession. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations. The findings reveal that they use empathetic verbal and non-verbal communication strategies to establish positive relationships with clients despite facing social stigma and physical demands. In conclusion, adaptive and empathetic communication helps them overcome challenges while ensuring the continuity of their work.

Abstract

The study analyzes the meaning that female audiences derive from the Perempuan Bicara program on tvOne, specifically the episode titled "Anies, Prabowo, atau Ganjar? Siapa Bisa Pikat Hati Perempuan." This episode discusses women's participation in the 2024 election, focusing on their readiness to use their voting rights, the perspectives of young voters, and the political engagement of women. The research employs a qualitative approach with data collection methods including interviews, observations, and documentation, involving six informants who are students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Andalas University. The results show that the meaning derived by female audiences from the program is influenced by the informants' backgrounds and experiences. The female students who participated in the study interpret the messages in the program based on the relevance of the issues discussed to their lives, their interest in politics, and the social contexts they experience. For some informants, the program provides new insights into the importance of women's roles in politics, especially as the 2024 election approaches. They believe that the discussions in this episode strengthen awareness of women's voting rights. However, some informants feel that the discussions are somewhat superficial and lack critical exploration of fundamental issues facing women.

Abstract

Differences in generational characteristics in the workplace, particularly between Generation Z and more senior generations, often lead to communication challenges that affect work effectiveness and employee cohesion. This issue is especially relevant in government institutions, which now comprise various age groups with differing values and communication styles. This study aims to analyze the forms of communication adjustment carried out by Generation Z employees in navigating intergenerational interactions within the bureaucratic environment of government organizations.. The research focuses on the communication strategies used when interacting with colleagues and superiors from older generations. A qualitative approach was employed using a transcendental phenomenological method, grounded in the Communication Accommodation Theory (CAT). Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants from Generation Z employees. The data analysis followed the stages of transcendental phenomenology using a modified Stevick–Colaizzi–Keen method as proposed by Moustakas. The findings indicate that communication adjustments are made through strategies of convergence, divergence, and maintenance. Convergence is used to build harmonious relationships and show respect toward senior colleagues. Divergence is employed as a form of identity expression and as a response to value differences. Meanwhile, maintenance is applied as a strategy to preserve comfort in communication. These findings reveal that the dynamics of intergenerational communication are influenced by social needs, identity formation, and the demands of professionalism in multigenerational government organizations.

Abstract

Komunikasi merupakan elemen penting dalam kepemimpinan, terutama bagi pejabat publik menjalankan tugas pemerintahan. Audy Joinaldy selaku Wagub Sumatera Barat memiliki gaya komunikasi yang unik dan adaptif, baik kegiatan formal maupun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bentuk pengalaman komunikasi dan gaya komunikasi Audy Joinaldy dalam memimpin Sumatera Barat pada panggung depan (frontstage) dan panggung belakang (backstage). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dan pendekatan fenomenologi. Informan penelitian adalah orang-orang terdekat Audy di pemerintahan dan masyarakat dan lingkungan keluarga. Penelitian ini dilakukan tiga bulan dan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman komunikasi Audy Joinaldy dalam memimpin Sumatera Barat adalah saat membangun komunikasi dengan bawahan, pendekatan komunikasi kepada masyarakat, pengalaman komunikasi krisis sesama era pandemi covid-19 dan pembebasan lahan jalan tol, dan pengalaman komunikasi dalam menjaga keseimbangan tuntutan pekerjaan dan kehidupan keluarga. Adapun gaya komunikasi Audy Joinaldy (frontstage) didapatkan adanya gaya komunikasi inklusif, gaya komunikasi humoris, gaya komunikasi Audyatif dan gaya komunikasi merakyat. Dalam kehidupan keluarga (backstage), Audy dikenal sebagai suami dan ayah yang penuh kehangatan, dengan gaya komunikasi visioner dan gaya komunikasi hangatinspiratif. Pengalaman dan gaya komunikasi Audy menjadi kunci kesuksesan memimpin Sumatera Barat dan rujukan bagi kepala daerah lainnya dalam berinteraksi di birokrasi maupun dengan masyarakat
