Abstract

This abstract discusses the close relationship between the Islamic Revivalist Movement and the formation of Pakistan. The focus of this journal is on the influence of the ideology and national identity shaped by this movement on Pakistan's independence process. The journal analyzes how the "Two Nations" ideology became a primary driver for the demand for a separate state for Muslims in India. The national identity of Pakistan, based on Islamic values, serves as the foundation for the country's legal, educational, and social systems. The aim of this journal is to explore the Islamic Revivalist Movement and the formation of Pakistan from the perspectives of ideology and national identity. It examines how the Islamic Revivalist Movement shaped Pakistan through these lenses. This journal employs a qualitative approach with a historical method, investigating how Pakistan's formation was influenced by the revivalist movement's ideology and identity. Through historical analysis of previous journals, it is evident that the Islamic Revivalist Movement played a crucial role in Pakistan's formation. The movement's ideology, which emphasized a return to Islamic values and encouraged social-political reform, shaped a distinct national identity for Pakistan, which became a driving force in the struggle for independence and state formation.

Abstract

Luqman's story and his advice to his son in Surah Luqman highlight the importance of education and the formation of children's character in Islam. Luqman emphasized the importance of faith and moral education as an inseparable unit, by providing a good example as a parent and educator. He taught his children about faith in Allah, giving thanks to Him, and being filial to their parents. Apart from that, Luqman also gets his children used to doing good deeds and being polite in interacting with fellow humans. Luqman's story provides strong guidelines for parents and educators in educating their children well, both academically and spiritually.

Abstract

The history of Islamic civilization encompasses the development of knowledge, technology, art, and culture built by Muslims from the early days until today. This article discusses several important aspects, such as the definition of Islamic civilization, the concepts of culture and civilization, and the methodologies used to explore this history. The history of Islamic civilization also demonstrates how the interaction between religion and the historical context in Muslim societies shaped Islamic culture, which is closely tied to religious values. In this regard, Islamic culture not only covers spiritual aspects but also social, political, and intellectual aspects that developed over time. Islamic civilization itself represents the collective achievements of Muslims in various fields, including knowledge, art, and technology, which had a significant impact on the progress of the world in its time. Studying the history of Islamic civilization contributes greatly to understanding Islam, ethics, and the importance of preserving its cultural heritage. Moreover, by studying this history, we can uncover universal values taught by Islam, such as justice, knowledge, and humanity, which remain relevant today.

Abstract

The concept of the history of Islamic civilization is a study that includes the development, dynamics, and contributions of Islamic civilization to the world from the time of the Prophet Muhammad to the contemporary era. According to Ibn Khaldun, Islamic civilization rests on the concept of umran or community development that is integrated with religious and cultural values. Arnold Toynbee highlighted the ability of Islamic civilization to respond to internal and external challenges through the process of cultural adaptation and assimilation. Meanwhile, Marshall Hodgson underlined the importance of Islamicate, which is the influence of Islamic culture that transcends geographical boundaries and formal religions, creating a global network of civilizations. This concept was also enriched by Seyyed Hossein Nasr who emphasized Islamic spirituality as the core of the development of science, art, and ethics in Islamic civilization. In general, the history of Islamic civilization reflects not only material and political growth, but also reflects universal values such as justice, knowledge, and humanitarian solidarity. This study shows that Islamic civilization has made a great contribution in shaping the face of world civilization, both in the aspects of science, art, and international relations.

Abstract

Kebijakan penenggelaman kapal asing yang melakukan illegal fishing di perairan Indonesia merupakan langkah strategis pemerintah dalam melindungi sumber daya laut dan menegakkan hukum perikanan. Tindakan ini didasarkan pada Undang-Undang Nomor 45 Tahun 2009 tentang Perikanan, yang memberikan kewenangan kepada otoritas berwenang untuk menindak kapal asing yang terbukti melanggar hukum. Selain itu, dalam konteks hukum internasional, kebijakan ini juga selaras dengan UNCLOS 1982, yang mengatur hak negara pantai dalam mengelola dan menegakkan hukum di Zona Ekonomi Eksklusif (ZEE). Penelitian ini mengevaluasi efektivitas kebijakan penenggelaman kapal sebagai upaya penegakan hukum terhadap illegal fishing serta mengkaji implikasi hukumnya dalam perspektif hukum internasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan ini berdampak positif terhadap penurunan jumlah kapal illegal fishing yang beroperasi di perairan Indonesia, meningkatkan keamanan laut, serta memperbaiki kesejahteraan nelayan lokal dengan mengurangi persaingan yang tidak adil dari kapal asing. Data menunjukkan bahwa jumlah kapal yang ditenggelamkan terus menurun dari 113 kapal pada tahun 2015 menjadi 24 kapal pada tahun 2023, yang mengindikasikan efek jera bagi pelaku illegal fishing. Selain itu, kerugian ekonomi akibat illegal fishing juga mengalami penurunan signifikan, dari Rp13 triliun pada tahun 2015 menjadi Rp4 triliun pada tahun 2023. Namun, meskipun kebijakan ini terbukti efektif, terdapat beberapa tantangan yang harus diatasi, seperti potensi pencemaran lingkungan akibat residu kapal yang ditenggelamkan, serta dampak diplomatik dengan negara-negara asal kapal yang ditenggelamkan, seperti Vietnam, Thailand, Tiongkok, Malaysia, dan Filipina. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini merekomendasikan pendekatan yang lebih komprehensif, termasuk penyitaan dan pelelangan kapal sebagai alternatif sanksi, serta peningkatan kerja sama internasional dalam pengawasan dan penegakan hukum maritim. Dengan demikian, kebijakan ini dapat terus berkontribusi dalam menjaga keberlanjutan sumber daya laut Indonesia serta menyeimbangkan kepentingan ekonomi, hukum, dan diplomasi maritim.

Abstract

Sistem pembelajaran al Qur’an di Ma’had Sunan Ampel Al-‘Aly UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang terbilang baik. Meskipun tidak seluruh alumninya memiliki kemampuan yang baik dalam membaca dan menulis al Qur’an (BTQ). Hal ini terbukti dengan prestasi yang diraih oleh UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang sebagai kampus dengan indeks baca tulis al Qur’an terbaik diantara seluruh UIN yang ada di Indonesia. Tulisan ini akan mengkaji dan menganalisa bagaimana juhud MSAA dalam mencetak mahasiswa generasi Qur’ani yang mampu membaca dan menulis al Qur’an dengan baik dan benar. Penelitian ini adalah studi kasus di lapangan dengan sumber data dari mudir ma’had, staff ma’had dan para mu’allim al Qur’an serta mahasantri. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi lalu dianalisa secara mendalam. Hasil penelitian adalah bahwa pembelajaran al Qur’an di MSAA berlangsung sistematis dan terstruktur, masif dan terkontrol dengan baik. MSAA memiliki program tashih sebagai upaya evaluasi bacaan al Qur’an mahasantri yang sangat implementatif, efektif dan riil hasilnya. Hasilnya pada tahun 2019 mahasiswa UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang menduduki indeks teratas dari segi kemampuan BTQ dibandingkan UIN di Indonesia. Selain itu semua stakeholder MSAA juga terlibat aktif dalam program kegiatan tersebut. The learning system of Qur'an in Ma'had Sunan Ampel Al-'Aly (MSAA) of Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN) of Malang is good enough. Although not all graduates of this institution have a good ability to read and write the Qur'an (BTQ). This is evidenced by Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University of Malang as a campus with the best index in reading and writing of Qur’an among all State Islamic University (UIN) in Indonesia. This article will examine and analyse how MSAA's efforts in creating Qur'anic generation students which have ability to read and write the Qur'an well and correctly. This research is a case study in the field with data sources from Directure of Ma'had, Staff of Ma'had and Mu'allim of Qur'an and Mahasantri (students). Data obtained through observations, interviews and documentation studies and then analyzed deeply. The results of the study are that the study of the Qur'an in MSAA lasts systematically and is structured, massive and well controlled. MSAA has a tashih program as an effort to evaluate the Qur'an recitation of Mahasantri is very implemented, effective and real results. As a result, in 2019 students UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang occupied the top index in terms of BTQ capability compared to UIN in Indonesia. In addition, all MSAA stakeholders are also actively involved in the program.

Abstract

Al-Qur'an merupakan kitab suci yang diturunkan kepada Nabi Muhammad SAW dengan bahasa Quraisy (bahasa yang mudah di pahami oleh seluruh masyarakat Arab). Munculnya beragam Qira'at yang bermula dari para sahabat yang menyampaikan Al-Qur'an dengan cara yang berbeda-beda, namun Nabu Muhammad SAW tidak pernah menyalahkan. Oleh sebab itu, tulisan ini membahas tentang Ragam Qira'at Al-Qur'an. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah library research dengan studi literature yang bersifat deskriptif. Urgensi mempelajari ilmu qira'at adalah untuk memahami berbagai qira'at, membantu dalam memelihara dan menjaga keotentikan Al-Qur'an. Dengan mempelajari variasi bacaan, dapat membantu memastikan bahwa bacaan dalam Al-Qur'an tetap terpelihara dengan baik dari generasi ke generasi.

Abstract

A comprehensive understanding of Islamic law cannot be separated from the historical context of its formation, known as the Tarikh Tasyri'. This research aims to examine the urgency of studying the Tarikh Tasyri' in order to understand Islamic law completely and contextually. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach through content analysis of various primary and secondary sources. The research results show that without understanding the historical background of a law, the risk of distortion of meaning and inappropriate application is very high. Tarikh Tasyri' provides an important methodological framework for understanding the dynamics of law formation, and is the basis for modern ijtihad in responding to the challenges of the times. The implications of this research suggest the need to strengthen the teaching of Tarikh Tasyri' in the Islamic education curriculum and its application in contemporary legal practice and fatwas.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation and impact of the Panca Jiwa (Five Souls) values in shaping the character of students at Ihyaul Qur’an Nururrahman Islamic Boarding School, Malang Regency. Using a qualitative method with participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation techniques, the research reveals that the values of sincerity (ikhlas), simplicity, independence, Islamic brotherhood (ukhuwah Islamiyah), and freedom of thought are integrally internalized into students’ daily activities, the educational curriculum, and social interactions within the pesantren. The findings show that sincerity and simplicity are nurtured through the habituation of daily worship; independence is reflected in self-management and personal responsibility; Islamic brotherhood develops through collective social activities; while freedom of thought is fostered through discussion methods and peer tutoring. The impact of these values is evident in the students’ increased discipline, sense of responsibility, social empathy, and spiritual growth. The integration of technology in the learning process also supports character development in a contemporary context. This study reinforces the theory of character education based on a socio-religious environment and demonstrates that the Panca Jiwa values are not merely normative doctrines, but are practiced as a way of life that holistically shapes students' personalities.

Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga memerlukan pendekatan inovatif yang mendorong partisipasi aktif masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi pengelolaan sampah melalui pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi Buang Sampah kepada warga RW.22 Perumahan Pura Bojonggede dan nasabah Bank Sampah Pratama. Metode pelatihan dilakukan secara partisipatif melalui sosialisasi, demonstrasi, praktik langsung, dan diskusi. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan pre-test dan post-test menggunakan skala Likert terhadap lima indikator utama. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada aspek pemahaman memilah sampah, keterampilan teknis penggunaan aplikasi, dan kesadaran terhadap jadwal pengumpulan sampah. Responden yang sebelumnya tidak memahami manfaat aplikasi menunjukkan perubahan persepsi yang positif setelah pelatihan. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pendekatan edukatif berbasis teknologi digital mampu membangun kesadaran lingkungan dan dapat diterapkan pada komunitas lain dengan karakteristik serupa. Untuk keberlanjutan, diperlukan dukungan kebijakan, infrastruktur digital, serta kolaborasi multipihak.
