Abstract

Children with special education needs (SEN) studying in inclusive classes are still a hot issue to be discussed. This study aims to investigate the attitudes of elementary school teachers towards inclusive education in Indonesia. A total of 64 elementary school teachers participated in filling out SACIE-R questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of three subscales, namely sentiment, concern, and attitude. The data were analyzed using non-parametric statistics (Spearman Correlation coefficient) and multiple regression analysis. The results show that the attitude of elementary school teachers towards inclusive education is positive with a mean SACIE-R (M = 3.00). Elementary school teachers have fears that they do not have knowledge and skills required to teach students with SEN and are not ready to teach students who require communicative technology (e.g. Braille and sign language) in their classrooms. The duration of teaching experience, teaching, and training experience with children with SEN positively correlated to the concern subscale. Special skill training such as Braille and sign language for elementary school teachers is needed to help them overcome their worries and unpreparedness to teach children with SEN in inclusive classes.

Abstract

Parents of children with autism, especially mothers, experience more parental stress compared to mothers of typical children. The aim of this research was to discuss the relationship between social support perceived to mothers of children with autism and parental stress levels, and to investigate the relationship between the characteristics of the mothers/their children and parental stress. Fifty mothers of children with autism in Banten Province completed the Social Support Index (SSI) and Parental Stress Scale (PSS) through a Google Form. The data was analyzed using Pearson Correlation and multiple regression analysis. Results show that the mothers had high social support (M = 61.72) and experienced lower stress in parenting their children (M = 39.56). Moreover, SSI has a significant negative correlation with PSS (r = -.519, p = .01), indicating that the higher social support accepted by mothers of children with autism, the lower level of parental stress they experienced. Surprisingly, mothers of children with autism who have siblings have lower parental stress than those of them without siblings.

Abstract

Parenting children with autism triggers stress for parents, especially mothers. Every mother needs to have coping strategies to overcome the stress experienced during parenting. This study aims to examine coping strategies in mothers of children with autism. A total of 50 mothers of children with autism participated in this research by filling out the F-COPES scale questionnaire, which consists of 5 subscales: acquiring social support, reframing, seeking spiritual support, mobilizing family support, and passive appraisal. Data was analyzed using Pearson Correlation analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results show that the F-COPES scores of mothers of children with autism are in the moderate category. Reframing, seeking spiritual support, and mobilizing family support are three coping strategies that are most commonly used. Age and number of autistic symptoms in children influence the level of coping strategies of mothers of autistic children. The older the autistic child, the better the mother's coping strategies. Conversely, the more autistic symptoms a child has, the lower the coping strategies the mother has.

Abstract

The presence of people with disability in society is part of the society itself, so the involvement of them in community life needs attention from those around them. This study analyze the attitudes of society towards people with disability. A total of 69 respondents completed a sentiment scale questionnaire, with the highest score indicating a negative attitude towards people with disability. The questionnaire consisted of 14 questions with a Likert scale from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree). Data were analyzed using non-parametric statistics (Spearman correlation coefficient) and multiple regression analysis. The results show that the general attitude of society towards people with disability is positive (M = 2.50). Age and level of education variables show an inverse correlation, indicating that as age and education level of the society increase, the attitude towards disability people also increases. Females have a more positive attitude towards people with disability compared to males.

Abstract

Implementing the searching information, communication, and modeling (SICOMO) learning model in the learning process can develop 21st-century skills for students. This study aimed to analyze students' learning styles, interests, and collaboration abilities in implementing the SICOMO learning model. This is a quantitative study with data collected through questionnaires filled out by 40 students. The results of this study show that students' learning interests include drawing/designing 35%, making videos and role-playing 31%, and writing and speaking 24%. Students' learning styles are visual type 43%, kinesthetic type 27%, and auditory type 30%. Collaboration skills with indicators of active contribution 94%, productive work 92%, flexibility and compromise 89%, responsibility 88%, and respectful attitude 92%. These findings suggest that the SICOMO learning model not only enhances student engagement but also fosters diverse skills, demonstrating its effectiveness in serving different learning preferences and promoting teamwork among students

Abstract

Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dapat dikatakan strategi yang tepat karena pembelajaran berdiferensiasi merupakan metode pengajaran yang menitik beratkan pada kebutuhan belajar siswa dalam hal kesiapan belajar, profil belajar, minat dan juga keterampilan. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk melihat bagaimana tingkatan sikap guru di SMP Citra Nusa, SMP Islam Plus Daarul Jannah dan SMP Al Azhar Syifa Budi terhadap pembelajaran berdiferensiasi berdasarkan 3 komponen sikap, yaitu komponen kognitif, komponen afektif dan komponen konatif. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Data kuantitatif yang dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran kuesioner, kemudian mendeskripsikan data dari hasil penelitian yang akurat dan tepat. Populasi dalam penelitian ini target populasinya adalah 68 guru dari SMP Citra Nusa, SMP Islam Plus Darul Jannah dan SMP Al Azhar Syifa Budi. sampel pada setiap sekolah, didapatkan jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini dengan total sebanyak 58 responden. Hasil penelitian dan pembahasan pada faktor kognitif, mayoritas 45% (27 guru) memiliki sikap cukup baik, di bandingkan dengan rata-rata yang didapatkan yaitu 22,85. faktor afektif diatas, dapat dilihat bahwa presetasi paling tinggi yaitu pada kategori cukup baik dengan total 31 guru (52%). dan pada faktor konatif diatas, dapat dilihat bawah pada kategori cukup baik yang memiliki presentasi yaitu 35% (21 guru). Berbanding terbalik dengan kategori sangat kurang baik dimana memiliki presentasi 0%. Sikap guru terhadap pembelajaran berdiferensiasi pada siswa autis di tiga sekolah menengah yaitu di SMP Citra Nusa, SMP Islam Plus Daarun Jannah dan SMP Al Azhar Syifa Budi, dikategorikan bahwa sikap guru terhadap pembelajaran berdiferensiasi pada siswa autis dari ketiga factor cukup baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan media Large Moveable Alphabet (LMA) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis permulaan pada siswa tunagrahita kelas IV di SKh Samantha Kota Serang. Sebagaimana temuan dilapangan bahwa siswa masih belum mampu dalam menulis permulaan huruf abjad. Siswa juga mengalami kesulitan dalam menyalin huruf dan juga kurang antusias saat belajar menulis huruf. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan suubjek tunggal (Single Subject Research) dengan desain A-B-A. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV di SKh Samantha Kota Serang yakni, S. Target Behavior dalam penelitian ini adalah meingkatkan kemampuan menulis permulaan. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, dapat diketahui bahwa penerapan media Large Moveable Alphabet (LMA) dapat meninggkatkan kemampuan menulis permulaan siswa. Perolehan data terhadap subjek yang didapat dari nilai mean level fase Baseline 1 (A1) adalah 25 pada fase ini subjek diteliti berada dalam kondisi alamiah tanpa adanya perlakuan atau Intervensi. Pada fase intervensi (B) perolehan data yang didapat dari nilai mean level subjek sebesar 78,876 karena pada fase ini subjek sudah mulai di berikan perlakuan atau intervensi berupa media Large Moveable Alphabet. Sementara pada fase Baseline 2 (A2) rata-rata presentase mean level subjek 57 atau meningkat dari Baseline 1 (A1). Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan penerapan media Large Moveable Alphabet (LMA) memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan menulis permulaan siswa tunagrahita kelas IV di SKh Samantha Kota Serang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penerapan metode senam otak arm activation dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis permulaan pada siswa kelas IV SDKh di SKh Jannatul Aulad. Berdasarkan hasil temuan di lapangan, terdapat dua siswa yang mengalami hambatan dalam kemampuan menulis permulaan. Hal ini ditandai dengan kesulitan menggerakkan alat tulis sehingga tulisan terlalu tebal dan keluar garis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan single subject research dan desain penelitian A-B-A. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah dua siswa kelas IV SDKh di SKh Jannatul Aulad yaitu, NFT dan RF. Sasaran perilaku dalam penelitian ini yaitu meningkatkan kemampuan menulis permulaan pada tahap menebalkan garis putus-putus pola dasar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa penerapan metode senam otak arm activation dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis permulaan siswa. Perolehan data terhadap subjek NFT dan subjek RF yang didapat dari nilai mean level pada fase baseline 1 (A1) adalah 25% dan 35% yang mana pada fase ini kedua subjek diteliti dalam kondisi alamiah tanpa intervensi. Pada fase intervensi (B) rata-rata persentase subjek sebesar 66,6% dan 69,16%, pada fase ini kedua subjek sudah mulai diberikan intervensi atau perlakuan berupa senam otak arm activation. Sementara pada fase baseline 2 (A2) rata-rata persentase subjek sebesar 71,6% dan 75% atau meningkat dari baseline 1 (A1). Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode senam otak arm activation dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis permulaan anak tunagrahita kelas IV SDKh di SKh Jannatul Aulad.
