Abstract

This research aims to describe the dominant motives in the transformation of conventional da'wah to live streaming da'wah among da'wah activists. This research uses the case study method, namely a series of scientific activities carried out intensively, in detail and in depth about an event, to obtain in-depth knowledge about a specific event. The theories used include Max Weber's theory of social action and William F. Ogburn's theory of social change. The problem that is seen to arise is the loss of the intimate atmosphere in da'wah activities, because the use of digital media has eliminated the direct interactive aspects. Apart from that, the transformation of live streaming da'wah has given rise to a binary opposition from religion itself, instead of looking for alternatives so that da'wah can continue to be carried out, at the same time da'wah loses its sacredness.

Abstract

This study examines a digital da'wah model promoting religious moderation through the yellow book chanting tradition broadcasted via live streaming on YouTube channels, including Al-Bahjah TV, Ngaji Gus Baha Official, and Ulil Abshar Abdalla. Employing a qualitative approach within a critical paradigm, the research analyzes the historical, social, cultural, economic, and political contexts of digital da'wah. The sorogan tradition is explored using descriptive-qualitative methods and virtual ethnography to capture online interactions. Data were collected through participant observation, interviews, focus group discussions, and documentary analysis. Findings reveal that these channels effectively strengthen religious knowledge among the younger generation through engaging content and innovative visual communication. The sorogan tradition fosters virtual social relationships at individual and group levels, contributing to a relevant da'wah ecosystem in the digital era.

Abstract

This study analyzes how gender bias and religious conservatism are reproduced through social media in Indonesia, using the viral case study of Shuniyya Ruhama, a female religious teacher who was attacked online for expressing religious views that were considered incompatible with conservative interpretations. The objective of this study is to uncover the dynamics of the representation of female religious authority and resistance to it in the digital space. The methodology employed is Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), utilizing data from the platforms X (Twitter), Threads, and TikTok, using a purposive sampling technique. Findings indicate that women who deliver religious sermons often face delegitimization through misogynistic religious narratives that reinforce the hegemony of religious patriarchy. Symbolic representations in the form of labeling, hate speech, and the removal of women’s religious authority status reveal unequal power dynamics. On the other hand, counter-narratives emerge from progressive communities advocating for equality in religious interpretation and women’s religious authority. This study shows that social media is not neutral, but rather an ideological arena where conservative discourse is both perpetuated and challenged. The implications of this study include the need for a reformulation of gender-fair media representation and support for digital public spaces that are inclusive of women in religious discourse.

This means that there is a high influence between culture-based counseling on mental health. Through hypothesis testing it is known that the correlation figure is significant, because it is proven that the t_count of 6.89 is greater than the t_table of 1.686. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership and the managerial competence of head of madrasah on the quality of madrasah education in Purwakarta Regency. The research is grounded in the understanding that the quality of madrasah education largely depends on the effectiveness of leadership and the capacity of madrasah heads to manage institutional resources professionally. An explanatory quantitative approach was employed, using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method based on Partial Least Squares (SmartPLS). The study involved madrasah heads, teachers, and education personnel as the research population, with a sample of 80 respondents. Data were collected using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire that had undergone validity and reliability testing. The findings show that managerial competence significantly and dominantly affects the quality of madrasahs (β = 0.489) and positively influences transformational leadership (β = 0.236). Conversely, transformational leadership demonstrates a weak direct effect on madrasah quality (β = 0.066) and does not function as a significant mediating variable. Theoretically, these results indicate that improving the quality of madrasah is more effective when emphasizing the strengthening of managerial competencies, which should be integrated with the values of Islamic transformational leadership. Overall, this study contributes to the development of leadership theories and practices in Islamic education by highlighting the importance of strategic management capabilities supported by spiritual and value-based leadership.

Abstract

This study examines how urban da’wah events shape religious experience through ritual processes infused with liminal atmospheres. The study focuses on Bandung as a social landscape that is both creative and deeply religious, where various religious events are organized by communities, mosque administrators, and event organizers. Using a phenomenological approach through in-depth interviews and observation, the research finds that da’wah events function not only as arenas of religious communication but also develop into episodic rituals. Participants step away from their daily routines, enter an in-between space filled with symbols and collective energy, and return to everyday life carrying renewed spiritual meaning. This process illustrates how urban da’wah adopts a ritual structure that binds identity, fosters communitas, and links religious expression with the cultural dynamics of the city.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of theistic spiritual counseling in strengthening the religious attitude of students as well as its contribution in forming the harmony of social relations in MTs Negeri 4 Tasikmalaya City. This research uses a qualitative approach with analytical descriptive methods, which combines data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation to obtain a comprehensive picture of the implementation of theistic spiritual counseling in the school environment. The focus of the research includes the implementation of theistic spiritual counseling in strengthening religious attitudes, the impact of counseling services on changes in attitudes and social harmony of students, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the counseling. The research results show that theistic spiritual counseling is effective in increasing the religious awareness of students, which then has a positive impact on their social behavior. A strong religious attitude contributes to the ability of students to control themselves, develop empathy, and build healthy communication with others, so that a harmonious social relationship is created in the school environment. The main supporting factor is the commitment and active role of BK teachers as well as the support of a religious school environment. While the hindering factors include the initial understanding of students who are still low about religious values and limited counseling infrastructure. This research contributes both theoretically and practically in the development of theistic spiritual guidance and counseling services in religiously labeled schools.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the strengthening of psychosocial skills in the implementation of premarital guidance at the Religious Affairs Office (KUA) of Cianjur District and its relevance in building family resilience. The psychosocial skills studied include effective communication, emotional management, empathy, couple cooperation, and joint decision-making as the foundation of a healthy marital relationship. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observation of the implementation of premarital guidance, and analysis of supporting documents. The research results show that the premarital guidance program contributes to increasing the understanding and awareness of participants regarding the importance of psychosocial skills in domestic life, especially in the aspects of healthy communication and cooperation between couples. However, the effectiveness of strengthening these skills is still relatively limited. This is due to the dominance of the lecture method, the lack of direct practice and simulation, and the lack of a long-term guidance and follow-up mechanism after marriage. The positive impact produced is more seen in the cognitive and affective realms of the participants, while the mastery of practical skills and their contribution to sustainable family resilience is not optimal. Based on the findings, this study recommends the development of a premarital guidance model based on practice and experience, increasing the capacity of facilitators in psychosocial approaches, and the implementation of longitudinal evaluations to assess the long-term impact of the program on family resilience. Thus, premarital guidance is expected not only to be informative, but also to be a strategic means in building a harmonious, adaptive, and resilient family.
