Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the economic contribution of oil palm and cattle farming and to evaluate the potential benefits of integrating these two systems for smallholder farmers in Labuhan Batu Regency. This research employs a field observation method using questionnaires and interviews, involving 34 respondents who are both oil palm farmers and cattle breeders. The study applies descriptive quantitative analysis to assess farmers’ production costs, revenues, and incomes. The results show that oil palm farming serves as the primary source of income, generating an annual net income of Rp 1,227,107,960, while cattle farming provides Rp 460,843,461. Integration of cattle and oil palm farming reduces production costs through the use of oil palm by-products as cattle feed and organic fertilizer, and improves land-use efficiency. The integrated system also adds value by producing biogas and reducing weeding costs. This study contributes to the existing literature by providing empirical data on the economic performance of integrated oil palm-cattle farming at the smallholder level in Labuhan Batu Regency, a topic that has been scarcely explored. The findings highlight that integrated farming can significantly enhance farmer income and support sustainable agricultural practices. It is recommended that smallholders adopt integrated systems more widely to realize these benefits, and that agricultural policies and extension services provide training and develop scalable models to support implementation.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the key factors influencing the success or failure of partnership programs for SMEs, specifically those fostered by PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III. The study fills gaps in existing literature and offers practical recommendations for enhancing partnership program design and implementation. Data were gathered from 243 SME business actors using a structured questionnaire, and multiple linear regression analysis was employed to evaluate the relationships between various independent variables and the success of the programs. The findings indicate that experience, knowledge, social networks, and business performance positively affect program success, while communication barriers and high transaction costs hinder success. However, factors like funding amount and communication behavior were found to be insignificant in this context. Based on these results, the study recommends investing in partner training to improve experience and knowledge, developing effective communication strategies, reducing transaction costs, and leveraging social networks. These recommendations aim to enhance the effectiveness of partnership programs, supporting the growth of SMEs and contributing to policy and practice in both Indonesia and globally.

Abstract

Oil palm is an essential commodity in Indonesia with excellent development potential, but the long waiting time required to produce oil palm plantations is a problem. Combining with multi-purpose tree species (MPTS) plants can solve this problem. Maximizing resources efficiently and environmentally friendly, the concept of plant intercropping entrepreneurship can be used with Edamame. The intercropping of edamame plants on oil palm plants must be carried out optimally to produce good-quality fruit. So, this study was conducted on the growth response of intercropping edamame plants on oil palm plantations with the provision of biosaka. This study aimed to determine the effect of biosaka and NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of edamame plants. Based on the research that has been done, Biosaka has the potential to increase the productivity of edamame plants. The best dose for edamame plant production is in the P3B1 treatment (NPK 30gr/polybag + 20 ml/L/Polybag) as much as 100.97 g/plant, which can increase the weight of pods/plant, pod weight, and number of pods/plant. The fastest flower emergence age is in the B3 treatment, which is 40.55 days. The study results showed that the interaction between Biosaka and NPK fertilizer had no significant effect on the variable of plant height. The use of Biosaka on edamame plant variables that are not much different from the use of NPK fertilizer can be considered.

Abstract

Soap is one of the cleaning materials whose use is evenly distributed in every mosque, house and other public facilities. The relatively simple process of making soap should be an opportunity for the community to individually make soap, so as to increase community income and produce environmentally friendly soap. This community service aims to train the Al-Ikhwan Islamic Youth Association (IKRIA) Martubung Village, Medan Labuhan Subdistrict, Medan City. Homemade soap production has promising business activity prospects for IKRIA Mosque Teenagers. Home-made soap products can be an alternative to commercial solid soap for bathing or washing. Furthermore, soap making can be developed into natural soaps that are healthy and environmentally friendly. The problem of the Mosque Youth is that there is no basic knowledge related to making solid soap based on palm oil derivatives, so it is necessary to conduct practical training in making solid soap on a home scale. The training methods carried out were lectures, discussions and continued with solid soap production practices. This training activity is expected to increase the enthusiasm and knowledge of the IKRIA Mosque Youth to try to produce solid soap at home, so that it can increase the income of the Mosque Youth individually and collectively.

Abstract

This research aims to uncover the factors contributing to the success of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within partnership programs. The study focuses on a population of MSMEs affiliated with PT XYZ, where 243 businesses were identified as successful in MSMEs development. Employing a saturated sampling method, the study's sample size consisted of 243 MSMEs. Data collection utilized tailored questionnaires for each variable indicator. The data analysis was performed using Partial Least Squares with Smart PLS 4. Based on the analysis results, it can be concluded that Partnership Attributes have a significant direct effect on Partnership Programs (β = 0.954, p = 0.000) and Partnership Success (β = 0.436, p = 0.000). Additionally, Partnership Programs significantly directly affect Partnership Success (β = 0.363, p = 0.001). Apart from the direct impact, it was also found that the interaction between Partnership Attributes and Partnership Programs significantly moderates Partnership Success (β = -0.075, p = 0.011). This means that Partnership Programs can moderate the relationship between Partnership Attributes and Partnership Success, although with a negative direction. These findings indicate that an effective partnership in terms of attributes and programs contributes to business success. However, their interaction must be well managed to prevent any negative impact on partnership success. This research contributes to entrepreneurship and partnership management by providing empirical evidence of the effects of Partnership Attributes and Partnership Programs on Partnership Success in the context of MSMEs. The study highlights the significance of coordination, trust, and mutual benefits in fostering successful business partnerships. Additionally, the moderating role of Partnership Programs offers insights into how structured support mechanisms influence business outcomes. For further research, it is suggested that longitudinal studies be explored to assess the sustainability of partnership success over time. Future studies could also incorporate external factors such as market dynamics, digital transformation, and policy interventions to comprehensively understand MSME partnerships. Additionally, expanding the research scope to different industries and geographic locations would enhance the generalizability of the findings.
