Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of teaching techniques (Storytelling and Show-And-Tell) and students’ personality on students’ speaking skill at the third grade students of Islamic Senior High School 69 Persis Matraman Jakarta. This research used a quantitative quasi experimental approach using factorial design. In collecting the data this research used speaking test and questionnaire. The hypothesis analysis used two ways anova. Finding of this study showed that there is no significant difference between the students who use teaching technique by using storytelling and those who use show-and-tell on students’ speaking skill. Moreover, there is also no significant difference of introvert and extrovert student on student’s speaking skill. Furthermore, the last finding shows, there is no significant interaction between both teaching techniques and students’ personality on students’ speaking skill.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of moving class learning models on the effectiveness of student learning "in MTs state Serang . The number of samples is 30 students, the method used by the writer in conducting this research descriptive survey, with data collection techniques: observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation and literature study. Based on the data the writer obtained from the results of the study were normally distributed with a mean value: 38.43, median: 38.83, mode: 39.63 and standard deviation: 5.84. whereas in variable Y or learning effectiveness students are normally distributed with a mean value: 39.47, median: 40.37, mode: 42.17 and standard deviation: 8.23. In this study the writer concluded that there is a high enough influence on the moving class learning model on student learning effectiveness because it obtained the correlation coefficient ("r") of rxy: 0.76 with a contribution rate of 58% and the remaining 48% influenced by other factors which can affect the effectiveness of student learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the the influence of drama voice techniques towards students’ pronunciation mastery in the first grade students of English Education Faculty at University of Mathla’ul Anwar Banten academic years 2019/2020 which was located on Jl. Raya Labuan KM. 23, Saketi, Pandeglang, Banten, Indonesia 42273. The population of this study was 10 students and the sample was 10 students. This study is carried out to find out whether there is a significant influence of drama voice techniques towards students’ pronunciation mastery. This research used a quantitative true experimental approach using Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. In this research there are two variables, they are independent variable and dependent variable. The independent variable is Drama Voice Technique (X), and then the dependent variable is Pronunciation Mastery (Y). In collecting the data, the instrument used in this research is test. The form of the test is oral and written (multiple choice) test. The hypothesis analysis used analysis of t-test. In analysing the hypothesis this research used SPSS statistics 22. Finding of this study showed that a significant influence of drama voice techniques towards students’ pronunciation mastery. It could be seen that signification value (p-value) = 0.003 < α = 0.05, so H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. On the other word, there is a significant influence of drama voice techniques towards students’ pronunciation mastery. Based on the result above, the researcher concluded that pronunciation is one of the elements in English. Teaching English using Drama Voice technique gave positive contribution especially on improving Pronunciation mastery

Abstract

In the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak that hit Indonesia, MA Persis 69 Matraman Jakarta is one of the schools that organize Teaching and Learning Activities with the Online Learning system. Online learning is considered the best solution in the midst of the epidemic condition that hit the country where this epidemic has become a frightening specter for many people. Online Learning is an alternative in the process of Teaching and Learning Activities. This is purposed to prevent the spread of Covid-19. In its implementation, teachers and students use the Whatsapp application as an online learning media during this pandemic. Whatsapp is one of the easiest and most commonly used applications. The Whatsapp application provides a group feature where all students can be involved in doing learning activities either by chatting, recording, or sending large video files. In this study, the research approach used is a qualitative approach, while the research methodology used is descriptive qualitative. The findings of this research showed that firstly, the learning process through the WA group as a whole can be said to have been in accordance with the learning steps, but in the future it still needs improvement so that learning becomes more optimal. Secondly, Learning Outcomes seen from the aspects initiated by Bloom's Taxonomy namely Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor, the results obtained are not too far away different from face-to-face learning; it's just that for Psychomotor when this online leraning looks far, very bad. Lastly, Supporting and inhibiting factors learning include cheap learning costs and easily accessible learning resources being the main supporting factors, while the equipment is expensive for students who are economically disadvantaged and the poor internet connection in certain areas is an inhibiting factor in this online learning

Abstract

OPTIMIZING READING INTEREST IN CHILDREN OF MEDALSARI VILLAGE DURING THE PANDEMIC THROUGH STORYTELLING. This study aims to (1) Attach the implementation reading method to storytelling students’ interesting in reading at Desa Medalsari when pandemic era, (2) attach to happiness, joy and comfort in fostering reader and listener when reading the book and storytelling. The type of research used is qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive research design. This research uses interview, observation and documentation. The object of research is elementary students to leaving at Desa Medalsari. The research showed that students is very interesting and admit that grow up storytelling to help reading interest. The results showed that: (1) the goal of storytelling to make easier the students got the information from the speaker how to read a book from storytelling well. (2) Factors supporting the implementation of reading angles include: the role of the parents who do not provide reading habit, students are not fluent in reading, damaged book. (3) The advantages are the children get the experience of the interesting story. (4) The children will know books and start loving to read books.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Scrabble game on the vocabulary mastery of class VIII students at Mts Daarul' Ulum Cihara Lebak. This research was conducted at the Daarul'Ulum Cihara school. The population of this study were students of class VIII Mts Darul Ulum Cihara which consisted of two parallel classes. They are class VIII A & VIII B. Each class consists of 25 students. This means that the total population of 50 students is taken as a sample. The data was obtained by giving the text to the students in the experimental and control groups. The data in this study were processed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS 25. The data was analyzed using the t-test formula. This analysis showed that t-count (-24.515) and two-sided significant = 0.000 <0.05. Therefore, the researcher concluded that the scramble game had a significant effect on students' mastery of English vocabulary.

Abstract

This research paper aim to investigate the effect of picture series towards students’ writing skill in recount text at the eighth grade students’ of SMPN 6 Malingping Lebak Banten in academic year 2021/2022. The method used in this research was quantitative method. The design of this research was quasi-experimental design and cluster random sampling: the researcher used VIII A (20 students) as class experimental and VIII B (20 students) as class control. In the collecting data technique, the researcher used pre-test and post-test. The analysis data used to test research hypotheses using SPSS 25.0 is test of paired samples test. The results of the research concluded that there are a significant effect of picture series towards students’ writing skill in recount text with a significant value (p-value) = 0.000. They are < α = 0.05. The results of the research indicate that the hypotheses is accepted. According to the criteria of the test, it could be concluded that there was was progress in the effect of picture series towards students’ writing skill in recount text at the eighth grade students’ SMPN 6 Malingping Lebak Banten was effective

Abstract

In learning English, one of the language components that should be acquired by students is vocabulary. It is the element that connects the four English skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The objective of the research is to find out is there any significant of Puzzle Game towards student's vocabulary mastery at the eighth grade students of MTs Tanwirul Kutub Bayah. In this method, the researcher uses a quasi-experimental method with two groups the experimental class and the control class.The population of the research is all the eighth grade students of MTS Tanwirul Kutub Bayah which consisted of 2 classes, with a total of 66 with a sample of 33 students in class VIII A and class VIII B as many as 33 students. The instrument for collecting quantitative data was a pre-test and a post-test with a total of 25 questions. The Researcher calculated data by using SPSS 2.2. Based on the analysis using paired samples test, it can be concluded that t-count= -7.430 and signification value (p-value) = 0.000 < α = 0.05, so H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. On the other word, there is a significant effect of puzzle game towards Student's vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

The research paper aims to know whether the use of Memrise Application gives a significant effect towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the Eight grade student’ of MTs Mathla’ul Anwar or not. The research paper uses the quantitative research design with the characteristics of experimental method that is design into two classes. They are the experimental and the control class. The population of this research consists of 71 students and the sample of this research is VIII A as experimental class consists 22 Students and VIII B as control class consists 22 students. Total of sample is 44 students. The instrument is a test and data of this research are collected by giving the per-test and post-test. The data is analyzed using statistical of program SPSS 22 including mean, standard deviation, and t-test. It could be seen from the result of the post-test of experimental and control class. Based on the result of data analysis and interpretation of the research. It is clear there is significant effect of Memrise application towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the eighth-grade students’ of MTs Mathla’ul Anwar Malingping. It can be seen the minimum score of pre-tests of experimental class is 44, maximum 88, mean 61.91 and standard deviation 11.880, while the minimum score of post-tests of experimental class is 52, maximum 92, mean 72.82 and standard deviation 12.010. Furthermore, the minimum score of pre-tests of control class is 36, maximum 76, mean 58.73 and standard deviation 9.731, while the minimum score of post-tests of control class is 40, maximum 80, mean 64.64 and standard deviation 9.469. The result of t-test obtained sig. value 0.000 ≤ α = 0.05. Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It can be concluded that there is significant effect of Memrise application towards student’s vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh menulis bahasa Inggris menggunakan media Cue Card pada siswa kelas X di SMK As-Shof Pandeglang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain pre-test dan post-test. Makalah penelitian ini menggunakan triangulasi metode pengumpulan data yang melibatkan pre-test, treatment dan post-test. Data diperoleh dari dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen pada penelitian ini adalah X.A dan kelas kontrol adalah X.B. Tiap kelas berjumlah 20 siswa dengan jumlah sampel 40 siswa. Nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen pada pre-test sebesar 61,45 sedangkan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol pada pre-test sebesar 59,20. Sedangkan hasil post-test nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen sebesar 73,80, sedangkan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol sebesar 67,50. Hasil yang diperoleh dari uji hipotesis adalah 0,00 < 0,05 yang berarti terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan media kartu isyarat terhadap keterampilan menulis teks deskriptif siswa di kelas sepuluh SMK As-Shof Pandeglang.
