Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the influence of the YouTube application towards Students' Speaking skill. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design. The sample for this research was 54 students of class VIII SMPN 2 Banjarsari for the 2022 academic year. They were class VIII A as the experimental class and VIII B as the control class. Each class consists of 27 students. The experimental class uses the YouTube application method, while the control class uses video snacks. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of the YouTube application towards students' speaking skill. Supported by the results of the average post-test score in the experimental class is (67.04), while the average score of the control class is (59.26) and the average pre-test score in the experimental class is (55.56) while the average value of the control class pre-test was (55.37), then testing the hypothesis utilizing matched example t-test on SPSS 22 for windows showed that the worth of t include > t-table in the exploratory class was -7.510. Additionally, the significance level is below 0.05 (p=0.00-0.05 in the experimental class). The alternative hypothesis (Ho) is accepted, according to the findings. Therefore, the researcher concluded that there is a significant influence of the YouTube application towards students’ speaking skill.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to know whether the use of shadowing technique gives significant effect towards students speaking skill at the eleventh-grade students of SMAN 10 Pandeglang. The research approach used is quantitative approach, while the method used is quasi experimental with pre-test and post-test control group design. The population of this research consists of 90 students and the sample of this research consists of 60 students. The data was analyzed by using statistical of program SPSS 22. Based on result of the data analysis, the finding shows that there is significant effect of using shadowing technique towards student’s speaking skill at the eleventh-grade students of SMAN 10 Pandeglang. It can be seen from the results of t-test obtained sig value 0.000<=α 0.05. It can be concluded that there is significant effect of using shadowing technique towards students’ speaking skill at the eleventh-grade students of SMAN 10 Pandeglang.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effect of cake application towards students’ pronunciation mastery at the eighth grade of MTs Miftahussa’adah Cibaliung Pandeglang. The research uses the quantitative approach and quasi experimental method with pre-test and post-test design. On technique of collecting the data, this research uses a triangulation involving pre-test, treatment and post-test. The data obtained from 2 classes are experimental and control class. The experimental class was VIII A and the control class was VIII B. Each class consists of 25 students; the total number of samples is 50 students. The findings show that the experimental class’s mean score on the pre-test is 51.33, while the control class’s mean score on the pre-test is 44.00. On the other hand, the experimental class’s mean score on the pre-test is 67.20, while the mean score on control class is 59.20. The hypothesis calculating was done by using SPSS 22. The result obtained from hypothesis test is 0.00 < 0.05, it means that there is effect of cake application towards students’ pronunciation mastery at the eighth grade of MTs Miftahussa’adah Cibaliung Pandeglang.

Abstract

This research paper aims to find out the kinds of feminism and analyze the literal meaning of "The Man" Song by Taylor Swift. This research paper using a qualitative approach with a content analysis design. The data of this research is lyrics of “The Man” Song by Taylor Swift and the data was taken from YouTube. This research data collection using observation and documentation techniques. The finding of this research shows that there are 14 kinds of feminism which are divided into 5 psychoanalytic feminisms, 5 liberal feminisms, 2 Marxist feminisms and 2 radical feminisms. In The Man Song by Taylor Swift, a deep meaning is found in the representation of women's feelings of having to move quickly to match the steps of men. The women in the song feel that the world is too unfair for women who are considered weak creatures by the world in various aspects of life.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of describing picture on students’ speaking skill at the ninth grade student of MTs MA Nambo Picung Pandeglang. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. This research uses three concepts, namely pre-test, treatment and post-test. The pre-test would be carried out before giving treatment, the treatment would be carried out in five meetings, and post-test would be given after treatment. The results of data analysis showed that the mean of post-test both experimental and control class are different, they are 79.00 and 63.75. The result of t-test obtained is 0.000 ≤ α = 0.05. The result indicated the alternative hypothesis was accepted and the null hypothesis was rejected. This finding shows that the describing picture has significant effect on students' speaking skills. Based on the findings, coud be said that the media picture is very useful for teachers to improve students' speaking skills, and easy to learn for students.

Abstract

Teaching materials is a set of teachers learning guidelines to make learning more effective. Through hypertext as a learning medium and Hots as a thinking method that directs students to be critical in thinking, teaching materials based on Hots integrated with hypertext can be applied to class X at the high school level. The purpose of this study was to develop English teaching materials. The research method used was the ADDIE model with a qualitative research type. Through three experts, namely material experts, learning design experts, and media experts, the results of the study showed that based on the results of a limited trial of 35 students at SMAN 10 Pandeglang showed an average value of 95.29%, while a broad trial of 105 students from the three schools produced an average value of 95.76%, which indicates that the acceptance of teaching materials is very good. So, in other words this teaching material is able to create a conducive learning atmosphere.

Abstract

This research is about analysis of phrase functions in "Dream" by Babymonster song lyrics using Nelson & Greenbaum theory. The goal of this research is to analyze the phrases functions found in Dream by Babymonster song lyrics. This research used a qualitative descriptive method. The primary data were the song lyrics, categorized into noun phrases, verb phrases, adjective phrases, adverb phrases, and prepositional phrases based on Nelson & Greenbaum's theory. The data analysis involved transcribing the lyrics, segmenting them into phrases, and determining their functions. The finding showed that noun phrases act as subjects, objects, and complements; verb phrases function as predicates; adjective phrases serve as complements and pre-modifiers; adverb phrases act as adverbials; and prepositional phrases function as post-modifiers and adverbials. This research provides insights into the syntactical structures and stylistic choices in "Dream."

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the Effect of the Point Illustration Explanation (PIE) Strategy on Students' Writing Skills in Descriptive Texts at the Tenth Grade of SMAN 1 Malingping, Lebak-Banten, in the 2023/2024 academic year. The PIE strategy involves using concrete examples, in-depth explanations, and clear illustrations to help students understand and develop their descriptive writing skills. This quantitative study employs a quasi-experimental method with a sample of 74 tenth-grade students divided into an experimental class (using the PIE strategy) and a control class (using the KWL strategy). Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, and analysed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and paired t-tests with SPSS 22. The results indicate a significant effect of the PIE strategy on students' descriptive writing skills, as evidenced by a t-value of -28.066 with df 74 and a two-tailed significance of 0.000, meaning Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. In conclusion, the PIE strategy significantly improves the descriptive writing skills of tenth-grade students at SMAN 1 Malingping, enhancing their understanding of descriptive writing structures and techniques, increasing motivation, helping them develop ideas more thoroughly, and improving their ability to present clear and creative descriptions.

Abstract

The research aims to know whether the use of Blooket Game significant effect towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the seventh-grade of SMP-IT Mathla’ul Anwar Malingping or not. The research paper used the quantitative research design with the characteristics of experimental method that is design into two classes. They are experimental and control class. The population of this research is class VII of SMP-IT Mathla’ul Anwar Malingping, they consist of 84 students. The sample of this research is VII-A as a control class consists of 28 students and VII-B as an experimental class consists of 28 students. The total of sample is 56 students. The instrument is a test and data of this research are collected by giving pre-test and post-test. The data is analysed using statistical SPSS 22 program including mean, standard deviation, and t-test. It could be seen from the result of the post-test of experimental and control class. Based on the result of data analysis and interpretation of the research, it is clear there is a significant effect of Blooket Game towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the seventh-grade students of SMP-IT Mathla’ul Anwar Malingping. It can be seen, the minimum score of pre-tests is 32, maximum is 72, mean 53.86, and standard deviation 11.339. while the minimum score of post-tests of experimental class is 68, maximum 96, mean 81.71 and standard deviation 8.105. furthermore, the minimum score of pre-tests of control class is 32, maximum 72, mean 52.71 and standard deviation 11.317. while the minimum score of post-tests of control class is 60, maximum 88, mean 72.57 and standard deviation 6.974. the result of t-test obtained sig.value 0.000 < 0.05. Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect of Blooket Game towards students’ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Wini Nuraini (2022). “The effect of using daily conversation YouTube video towards student speaking skill at the eleventh grade student of SMAN 1 Cihara, Leabak Banten, Academic Year 2021/2022”. This research paper aims to determine the significant effect of daily conversation YouTube videos on speaking skill of Class Xl SMAN 1 students Cihara Lebak-Banten Academic Year 2021/2022. Research Paper using a quantitative approach. This research is conducted from October to November, and researcher have chosen two classes, namely experimental class and control class. The technique in selecting the sample is take random cluster sampling; And analyzing the data, the researcher used Paired sample test with SPSS 22 statistics to analyze the hypothesis test. Researcher have found t-count results (-5.971) and Significant = 0.000 <0.05. From this the data can be interpreted that there is a significant difference between the two group in obtaining a score, because the result is a significance value of less than 0.05 which means Ha is accepted. Therefore, the researcher concludes that. The application of daily conversation YouTube videos has a good effect on students' speaking skills.
