Abstract

The aim of this experiment is to study the morphology and anatomy of moringa plant at various height grow place in area of Palu, Sigi and Palolo. This  research used the method survey and direct measurement. First activity was to determine the research location. Determination of research location was by purpose sampling, that is in height of ± 150; ± 300; ± 450; and > 451 masl, every altitude place was selected by random as much as 7 moringa crop, so that as a whole moringa crop  in requiring as much 28 tree. Individual difference of observed tree of moringa based on the morphology and leaf anatomy, to conclude the difference of morphology and antomi, all the data gathered were analysed by calculating the distance of Euclid constructively program the SYSTAT 8.0. Research result indicated that there are difference of morphology and anatomy of leaf of moringa plant (Moringa oleifera L.) at different height place. Morphology character differentiating for example leaf length, wide of leaf, anatomy character that is closeness stomata, number of epidermis, and make an index to stomata.

Abstract

The research aimed to find local upland rice cultivar which has better growth and yield responses under the application of various manure and to find manure which has better effect on the growth and yield of local upland rice cultivars. This research was conducted at the Screen House of Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University of Palu, and lasted from September 2017 until January 2018. This research was arranged in a two-factorial completely randomized design. The first factor consisted of three cultivars of upland rice i.e. Kalendeng, Logi, and Uva Buya, while the second factor consisted of four types of manure i.e. with no manure addition (control), cow manure, chicken manure and goat manure each at a rate of 20 ton ha-1 or 73 g polybag-1. It was found that the Logi cultivar produced better growth and yield than the other cultivars whereas chicken manure resulted in better growth and yield of the upland cultivars.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the resistance of several local upland rice cultivar resistances to various levels of water avaibality, to find local upland rice which had better growth and to find the level of water status that could reduce the growth of upland rice.  This research was conducted at the Agrotecnology Green House, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University Palu. This research was conducted from August 2017 to Jaunary 2018. This research was a two-factorial randomized block design.  The first factor was various local rice upland cultivars i.e. Kalendeng, Tagolu, Logi, and Uva Buya, The second factor was different water availability levels i.e field capacity (FC), 75% FC, 50% FC, and 25% FC. Kalendeng Cultivar was found to grow well only at FC water content, Tagolu and Uva Buya cultivars down to 75% FC, and Logi Cultivar was able to grow well even at drier condition down to 50% FC.  Tagolu and Logi cultivar grow better compared to other cultivars.

Abstract

The need for rice as one of the main food sources of the Indonesian population continues to increase in line with the increase of population with a rate of 2% per year. The objective of this research is to know the response of four cultivars of upland rice to different soil moisture content, drought resistant cultivars and water content where cultivars are difficult or can not grow. The research was conducted at Green House Agrotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University of Palu. From March to June 2017. This research was prepared using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) two factors consisting of local rice cultivar as first factor that is Cultivar Tagolu, Cultivar Habo, Uva Buya Cultivar and Cultivar Dongan. While Soil Humidity Level as the second factor soil moisture level 100%, 75%, 50% and 25%. The results showed that the Habo cultivar and Dongan cultivars have long and wider leaves, the number of grains contained, the number of tillers, the number of leaves, and the weight of 1000 grains better compared to other cultivars. At 75% and 50% soil moisture levels can still grow crops well compared to 25% moisture level. The influence of soil moisture level is similar in all cultivars.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of mango plants relied on morphological and anatomical leaf of mango plants in the villages of Nambo and Laroue,subdistrict of East Bungku, Morowali district. An observation of morphological features was conducted in Nambo and Laroue, whereas anatomical observations had been made in the laboratory of Biotechnology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University Tadulako, from April to July in 2016. The morphological parameters observed includedage of the plant, plant height, stem diameter, canopy diameter, canopy shape and color bars. The alteration of leaf anatomy consists of the size of the stomata, the size of the epidermis, and stomatal index. Moreover, the resulthighlightsmorphological and anatomical characters observed on cluster analysis, described in the form of a dendrogram.The implication of the cluster analysis for two villages resultsin four accessions, namely NM1, NM2, NM15 and LR4 that can be benefited as the planting material of quality mango seeds which will be cultivated.

Abstract

Perbanyakan tanaman dalam waktu singkat dan jumlah banyak dapat dilakukan melalui kultur jaringan.  Penggunaan auksin dan sitokinin  pada konsentrasi yang tepat dapat memacu pertumbuhan eksplan.  Percobaan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi auksin dan sitokinin terhadap pertumbuhan buah naga.  Dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Bioteknologi Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Tadulako, mulai Bulan April hingga Agustus 2008.  Menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 4 perlakuan yaitu: M1 = 2 mg/L BAP + 0,4 mg/L IAA, M2 = 3 mg/L BAP + 0,2 mg/L IAA, M3 = 2 mg/L kinetin + 0,4 mg/L NAA dan M4 = 3 mg/L Kinetin + 0,2 mg/L NAA  Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali sehingga terdapat 20 unit percobaan.  Peubah yang diamati adalah jumlah tunas, duri dan akar serta pengamatan visual terhadap ukuran, bentuk, warna dan bulu akar.  Hasil percobaan baik pengamatan kualitatif dan kuantitif  menunjukkan bahwa komposisi media  3 mg/L kinetin + 0,2 mg/L NAA memberikan pengaruh lebih baik terhadap pertumbuhan buah naga

Abstract

Produktivitas jagung di Sulawesi Tengah masih relatif rendah dibanding produksi nasional sehingga perlu ditingkatkan melalui pemuliaan tanaman. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji parameter genetik tanaman jagung pada cekaman salinitas sedang.  Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Juni sampai Agustus 2019, di Green House Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Tadulako, Palu. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri atas 6 perlakuan genotip dan diulang 3 kali serta 5 unit tanaman per perlakuan sehingga terdapat 90 unit percobaan. Parameter genetik yang di analisis adalah koefisiean keragaman genotipik, koefisien keragaman fenotipik, heritabilitas, kemajuan genetik, korelasi, dan analisis sidik lintas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kehijauan daun, bobot tongkol berkelobot, berat tongkol tidak berkelobot, dan berat biji pertongkol memiliki koefisien keragaman genetik tinggi. Kehijauan daun, berat tongkol berkelobot, bobot tongkol tidak berkelobot, panjang tongkol tidak berkelobot, diamater tongkol, berat biji per tongkol dan bobot 100 biji memiliki nilai heritabilitas dan kemajuan genetik tinggi. Seleksi secara tidak langsung dapat dilakukan pada umur panen agar diperoleh hasil jagung lokal yang tinggi pada kondisi tercekam salinitas sedang. Karakter-karakter tersebut dapat dijadikan acuan dalam menyeleksi tanaman jagung dengan cekaman salinitas sedang untuk program pemuliaan jagung.AbstractThe productivity of maize in Central Sulawesi is relatively low compared to national production and needs to be improved by plant breeding. The study aimed to examine the genetic parameters of the maize plant traits at moderate salinity stress. The research was conducted from June to August 2019, at the Green House of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu. The genetic parameters analyzed were genetic coefficient of variation, phenotypic coefficient of variation, heritability, genetic advance, correlation, and path analysis. The experimental design used a completely randomized design consisting of six genotypic treatments and repeated three times. The results showed that the leaves greenness, the weight of the cob with and without husk, and weight of seeds per cob had a high genetic coefficient of variation. Leaf greenness, the weight of the ear with and without husk, ear length without husk, ear diameter, seed weight per ear and yield have a high value of heritability and genetic advance. Indirect selection can be applied through harvest time trait to obtain a high local maize yield in moderate salinity stress condition. These traits can be used as a reference in selecting maize plants with moderate salinity stress for maize breeding programs.

Abstract

Penghasil kakao terbesar di Indonesia adalah Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah sehingga kakao ditetapkan sebagai komoditas unggulan. Program Pengembangan Desa Mitra (PPDM) dengan tema PPDM Sentra Pengembangan Kakao Secara Terpadu Di Tonusu Kecamatan Pamona Puselemba Kabupaten Poso. PPDM bertujuan untuk peningkatkan pengembangan kelompok tani dan Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah untuk peningkatan pemberdayaan masyarakat barbasis perkebunan kakao. Ada dua kelompok tani sebagai mitra PPDM yaitu Harapan Baru dan Koromboyo Lestari yang keduanya berada di Desa Tonusu Kecamatan Pamona Puselemba Kabupaten Poso Propinsi Sulawesi Tengah. Pelaksanaan program direncanakan pada tahun 2020 melibatkan tiga dosen yang memiliki kepakaran multidisiplin meliputi ilmu perbenihan dan kultur jaringan, teknologi pengolahan hasil pertanian dan ilmu manajemen. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan program PPDM pada tahun 2020 melalui penyuluhan, pelatihan, praktek dan pendampingan yang telah disepakati dengan mitra diantaranya teknologi pembibitan tanaman kakao, teknologi budidaya, teknologi pembuatan pupuk organik dengan menggunakan limbah kakao (daun dan kulit kakao), teknologi pemangkasan dan kebersihan perkebunan tanaman kakao, teknologi pengendalian hama dan penyakit kakao dan teknologi fermentasi. Kegiatan ini memiliki dampak ekonomi terutama warga masyarakat Desa Tonusu khususnya kelompok tani mitra karena dapat langsung diaplikasikan pada perkebunan kakao mereka. Masyarakat dan mitra memiliki partisipasi yang tinggi dalam pelaksanaan program karena mereka membutuhkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang terkait dengan pengelolaan perkebunan kakao secara terpadu dan terintegrasi. Luaran yang telah diperoleh diantaranya penangkar bibit kakao, pupuk organik, produktvitas kebun meningkat dan terjadi peningkatan mutu biji kakao yang dihasilkan

Abstract

Kakao merupakan komuditas unggulan di Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah. Program Pengembangan Desa Mitra( PPDM) dengan tema PPDM Sentra Pengembangan Kakao Secara Terpadu Di Tonusu Kecamatan Pamona Puselemba Kabupaten Poso yang bertujuan untuk peningkatkan pengembangan kelompok tani dan Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah untuk peningkatan pemberdayaan warga masyarakat barbasis perkebunan kakao. Ada 2 kelompok tani selaku mitra PPDM ialah Harapan Baru dan Koromboyo Lestari yang keduanya terletak di Desa Tonusu Kecamatan Pamona Puselemba Kabupaten Poso Propinsi Sulawesi Tengah. Permasalahan mitra pada tahun 2021 antara lain kualitas biji kakao yang dihasilkan rendah dan teknologi pengolahan biji kakao menjadi bubuk cokelat, pasta cokelat, lemak kakao dan proses pembuatan aneka produk turunan dari cokelat dan pengemasannya masih terbatas. Pelaksanaan program dilaksanakan oleh 3(tiga) dosen yang mempunyai kepakaran multidisiplin meliputi ilmu benih, dan teknologi pengolahan hasil pertanian serta ilmu manajemen dan pemasaran. Pada tahun 2021, kegiatan dilaksanakan 10 bulan dengan rincian 1 bulan persiapan, 8 bulan pelaksanaan kegiatan dan 1 bulan pelaporan. Hasil PPDM pada tahun 2021 sudah dilakukan penyuluhan, pelatihan, praktek dan pendampingan kegiatan antara lain teknologi fermentasi biji kakao dan teknologi pengolahan biji kakao menjadi bubuk coklat, pasta cokelat dan lemak cokelat serta diversifikasi produk olahan sperti susu cokelat, minuman, silverquin, cokelat isi dengan bermacam varian rasa dan es krim. Warga masyarakat dan mitra mempunyai partisipasi yang besar dalam penerapan program sebab mereka memerlukan pengetahuan serta keahlian yang relevan dengan pengelolaan perkebunan kakao secara terintegrasi. Program aktivitas berefek langsung kepada penambahan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat khususnya kelompok mitra yang terlibat.

Abstract

Selection and evaluation of the progress of crosses is important to obtain the percentage change and success of crosses. This study aims to evaluate the percentage change in carnelian color up to the F4 generation and the selection progress in the F4 generation. The research was conducted from August 2017 to August 2020 in Kalukubula village, Sigi Regency, Palu, Central Sulawesi Province. This study was structured using a randomized block design with five carnelian color treatments that were repeated five times. This study used a mass selection method by selecting the carnel color according to the treatment (purple, yellow, white, purple dominant yellow and white dominant purple). Each treatment was planted in one plot for each generation. The seeds were planted using an isolation time of 21 DAS. The results showed that there were three color carnelian characters that experienced an increase in the percentage of color up to the F4 generation, namely Purple (27.68% -70.39%), White Dominant Purple (1.52% -16.91%) and White (5.40% -91.22%), and There are two carnelian color characters that experience a decrease in the percentage of color in the F4 generation, namely Yellow (68.14% -64.31%) and Purple Dominant Yellow (27.00%-5.22%). The character of purple, white, dominant purple and white carnelian color had a significant increase in heritability values ​​in the F4 population, and had an expected genetic progression value (36.94%, 17.56%, 53.55%) and positive selection progress in the F4 generation.
