Abstract

Based on observations from motorcycle drivers with automatic transmissions, there are several commonly criticized complaints about the lack of responsiveness. There are many ways to improve motorcycle performance. One of them is to change the contact angle inclination of the primary he pulley of the continuously variable transmission (CVT) and change the mass of the pulley accordingly. The method used in this study is an experimental research method. This method works by directly testing the effect of one variable on another. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of varying primary pulley tilt on power, torque, slip ratio and fuel consumption of a 110cc bike when the primary pulley contact angle and roller mass tilt are varied. That's it. The primary pulleys have contact angles of 13.5° and 14°, and pulley masses of 13 and 15 grams. The subject of this study is a Honda Beat PGM-FI 110cc bike with an engine speed of 2000-4000 rpm. 500rpm According to the results of the studies conducted, a 13.5° primary roll and a 13 gram roll achieved the best results in all tests. Maximum torque is 24.95Nm at 2000rpm and maximum power is 8.0hp at 2500rpm.

Abstract

Motorcycles are automotive products that are widely used today. One of the components is injection as part of the fuel supply in the engine equipped with a filter. The filter serves to filter the air needed for the combustion process. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of filter type on motorcycle engine performance. The study was conducted using experimental methods on Honda Beat Injection motorcycles. There are two types of air filters that will be tested, namely standard filters and racing filters. The experiment was carried out using a dyno test machine to obtain data directly according to the resulting engine speed. The speed of the engine and the rotation of the roller of the dynamometer are measured with a tachometer. The results of these calculations are presented in the form of tables and graphs and analyzed in accordance with existing theories. The results showed the type of air filter in the injection system, affecting the performance of the motorcycle engine on the power and torque produced. The difference in power and torque obtained after using the two types of filters is different due to the large difference in density of the filter layer material, which has an influence on the air sucked into the combustion chamber. The larger the pores of the filter layer, it will affect the air sucked into the combustion chamber and the size of dirt particles that can be filtered.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect or impact of variations in the size of a standard piston diameter (52 ML) with a piston with a diameter of 58 ML on a Yamaha Mio motorbike using a dyno test. The results we got from the dyno test, the power or horsepower (HP) produced from a motorbike with a standard 52 ML piston size is 7.44 HP at Rpm 7000 and a torque of 8.72 Nm. Meanwhile, the modified motor with a 58 ML piston produces 11.37 HP at 7000 Rpm and 11.10 Nm of torque. And it can be concluded that motors with factory original standard pistons measuring 52 ML have much lower torque and power than modified pistons measuring 58 ML and the fuel consumption of motors with modified pistons will be more or more wasteful.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the degree of change in the strength of the connecting rod test, especially on Astrea motorcycle type vehicles which have aluminum 6061 material. With design changes in the form of additional dimensions using simulations with the Autodesk Inventor 2023 application. This research was carried out by making different connecting rod designs taking into account the points fatigue of the non-ferrous aluminum metal is then tested using inventor software with pressure testing on the connecting rod where the data obtained from the results of this test is then analyzed using a static method by comparing the simulation results from the original design and the design of the connecting rod variation to obtain comparison results so that we get new values.

Abstract

Pengujian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunan knalpot jenis standard dan knalpot model freeflow merk jrs, creampie serta mcc terhadap tingkat kinerja mesin dan tingkat kebisingan pada sepeda motor supra x 125 r. Data diambil sebanyak tiga kali pada stiap pengujian dengan menggunakan alat dynosport v3.3, serta sound level meter. Pengujian akan dilakukan dengan metode penelitian eksperimen dan metode analisis data deskriptif kuantitatif. Variable terikat pada pengujian ini ada empat yaitu knalpot standard, knalpot model freeflow merk jrs, knalpot model freeflow merk creampie serta, knalpot model freeflow merk mcc. Variable bebas pada penelitian ini yaitu performa mesin meliputi torsi, daya serta tingkat kebisingan. Hasil penelitian ini berupa angka perbedaan tingkat kebisingan, torsi, daya dan konsumsmsi bahan bakar per waktu dari penggunan knalpot jenis standar dengan penggunaan knalpot model freeflow merk jrs, creampie serta mcc. Perbedaan tingkat kebisingan akibat penggunaan knalpot jenis standar dengan penggunaan knalpot model freeflow merk jrs, creampie dan mcc berturut-turut yaitu 12.7 dB, 13.5 dB dan 14.9 dB. Perbedaan torsi akibat penggunaan knalpot jenis standar dengan penggunaan knalpot model freeflow merk jrs, creampie dan mcc berturut-turut yaitu 0.02 N.m, 0.67 N.m dan 0.49 N.m. Perbedaan daya akibat penggunaan knalpot jenis standar dengan penggunaan knalpot model freeflow merk jrs, creampie dan mcc berturut-turut yaitu 0.34 Hp, 0.62 HP dan 0.40 HP. Penggunaan knalpot yang disarankan bagi pengendara adalah knalpot jenis standard karena konstruksi dan efek yang ditimbulkan akibat penggunaannya telah diperhitungkan oleh produsen sesuai dengan spesifikasi sepeda motor tersebut. Namun, apabila pengendara ingin memodifikasi ataupun mengganti knalpot dengan tujuan meningkatkan performa mesin disarankan mengganti knalpot dengan knalpot model freeflow merk jrs karena selain meningkatkan performa mesin dan tingkat kebisingan yang ditimbulkan tidak terlalu bising.

Abstract

Bensin adalah salah satu jenis bahan bakar yang banyak digunakan sebagai sumber tenaga dari kendaraan bermotor. Mesin pada motor 2tak merupakan salah satu motor yang mengunakan bensin sebagai bahan bakarnya. Sejalan dengan perkembangan ilmu dan teknologi banyak terjadi penyempurnaan dan pengembangan komponen–komponen untuk menambahkan daya dan torsi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh modifikasi blok silider pada lubang buang terhadap daya dan torsi pada sepeda motor 2 tak vespa exel 150.Dengan lubang buang standar tinggi 24mm dan lubang buang modifikasi tinggi 28mm dengan uji dynotest untuk mengetahui daya da torsi dari 3000 RPM sampai 7000 RPM. Hasil pengujian menujukan bahwa daya maksimal pada lubang buang standar sebesar 7,76 HP pada RPM 5420 sedangkan lubang buang modifikasi memperoleh daya maksimal sebesar 8,47 HP pada putaran RPM 5740. Untuk torsi maksimum lubang buang standar diperoleh sebesar 10,91 Nm pada putaran RPM 4920 sedangkan pada lubang buang modifikasi memperoleh torsi maksimal sebesar 11,42 Nm pada putaran RPM 4700

Abstract

The background of this research is the adjustment of the valve gap which can affect the performance of the motorcycle engine. The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the effect of valve clearance adjustment on engine performance and to overcome valve gap adjustment errors. The research was conducted in a motorcycle workshop, on a 4 stroke 110 cc motorcycle engine using a quantitative and informative method approach. Data were obtained through literature research and factory determination, observation and interviews. Then Several customization steps are carried out at the implementation stage, starting with standard customization, over and under standard settings. The research results decide the standard setting. It is hoped that the implementation of the analysis of the influence of valve settings on motorcycle engines will become material for our knowledge.

Abstract

The exhaust is part of the exhaust on the motorbike which is designed for exhaust gas exhaust paths and as a motor silencer. The exhaust system or often called the exhaust has an important role in the function of the exhaust (muffler) as a silencer and regulates the direction of flow of combustion gases so that they flow regularly. This study aims to examine the effect of exhaust changes on torque and power or performance of Aerox 155cc motorbikes. The maximum torque of the standard exhaust is 11.36 N.m and the power is 11.01 HP. On the racing exhaust, the torque is 11.14 N.m with a power of 11.33 HP. Changes in the exhaust affect motorcycle performance but not significantly.

Abstract

The Joint Business Group “Makmur Abadi” is situated around 0.5 km from Tidar University, is focused in duck farming. The processing of animal feed, in this case the pounding of egg shells as the main raw material, is still done manually with a limited capacity using a pestle and mortar. It causes the size of the feed produced is not uniform. The aim of this activity was to improve the capacity and quality of animal feed produced by partners. The ctivities was done in two phases. The first stage was started with data collection and discussions with partners. The second stage was comtinued with coordination to develop the stage of solving the problem through the application of an egg shell flour machine. Measuring the effectiveness of animal feed production was carried out by quantifying the capacity and quality of the animal feed generated and measuring the increase in residents' knowledge pre and post the implementation of the machine. The primary output of this activity was an egg shell flour machine which is made with a capacity of 20 kg/hour, consumes 367.75 watts of power, and is equipped with various filter sizes that can be customized to the need of partners. The use of an egg shell flour machine was able to increase production capacity from only 10 kg/day to 20 kg/hour with a more uniform size that is easily digested by livestock. This activity was also able to increase public awareness up to 90%.

Abstract

Briquetting technology became one appropriate method that can be used to convert biomass waste into a renewable energy source. Sources of biomass raw materials that have promising potential are pine sawdust and coconut shell waste. Sawdust has potential for about 0.78 million m3/year and coconut shell waste around 360 thousand tons/year. The research aim was to analyze the effect of the carbonization temperature to volatile matter and fixed carbon of briquette. The research was done by variating carbonization temperature at 400oC, 500oC, and 600oC. The result showed that at carbonization temperature of 400oC, the volatile matter and fixed carbon was 42.28% and 55.74%. The volatile matter and fixed carbon are 43.19% and 54.96%, found at carbonization temperature 500oC. The highest fixed carbon 55.98% and the lowest volatile matter 42.19% was found from carbonization temperature at 600oC.
