Abstract

This Classroom Action Research was carried out in two cycles and aimed to improve the creative thinking skills of Bina Bersaudara Medan Private Junior High School students by using a project-based learning model. 26 students from Bina Bersaudara Private Junior High School in Medan who are in grades VIII-2 of this study. Original, fluent thinking, flexibility, and elaboration are the four stages involved in each cycle. The results of this study show that a learning model based on projects can be applied. The average score of students increased from 37.33 in the very low category to 68.29 in the1medium category and 87.18 in1the high category in the second cycle. Students' classical abilities also improved, with 17 students (65.4%) achieving complete in the first cycle.

Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research carried out in the Husni Thamrin school field with research subjects XI-IPA grade students the object of research is the application of models of reciprocal learning to increase mathematical problem solving and social attitude of students. This research consists of 2 cycles, each consisting of 2 meetings. The analysis data on cycle I indicated that (1) the average test scores for problem solving are 68,0 or 73% of the number of students who take the test can solve problems fairly minimal category and 27% had levels below the category of problem solving ability sufficient, (2) The value of obtaining students’ social attitudes is 2,0 including the bad category(3) current activity levels of students do not meet the ideal percentage of time specified, (4) there are 93,4% of total students taking learning to respond positively to the components and learning activities. In the second cycle, the results obtained : (1) the average test scores for problem solving abilities were 73,0 or 86,6% of the number of students taking the test can solve problems fairly minimal category and 13,4% had levels below the category of problem solving ability sufficient, (2) The value of obtaining students social attitudes is 3,50 including the excellent category, (3) current activity levels of students who meet the ideal percentage of the time, (4) there are 96,67% of the students gave a positive response to the components of learning activities. Based on the results of cycles I and II can be concluded that the implementation of reciprocal learning models can increase the problem-solving ability and social attitude of students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat pemahaman konsep matematika siswa dan mengidentifikasi kesulitan yang mereka hadapi dalam pembelajaran berbasis konstruktivisme. Dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Sei Kepayang Barat, penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas VII yang mempelajari aritmatika sosial. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan instrumen tes dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 13% siswa memiliki kemampuan sangat tinggi, 34,8% tinggi, 43,5% sedang, 4,3% rendah, dan 4,3% sangat rendah. Kesulitan yang dialami siswa meliputi kesulitan dalam memberikan contoh dari suatu konsep dan menentukan hubungan antar konsep dalam pemecahan masalah

Abstract

Differentiated learning is an effective strategy for implementing the Kurikulum Merdeka in upper junior high school. This strategy is applied to address several classroom challenges, such as monotonous learning, limited learning resources, a lack of instructional media, and low student motivation. The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance teachers' ability to develop learning modules and assessments tailored to students' characteristics. Through this training, teachers can independently create instructional modules that can be implemented in classroom learning. To achieve this goal, the community service team from the postgraduate school of at Universitas Negeri Medan has designed a series of activities, including preparation, training implementation, mentoring, evaluation, and refinement. The applied method has resulted in learning modules and assessments developed by subject teachers. These modules and assessments are designed based on students' initial abilities and characteristics, leading to improvements in learning outcomes, higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), and student motivation in the learning process. Furthermore, these modules and assessments have become essential instructional tools that teachers utilize in their daily classroom teaching.   Abstrak Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi merupakan salah satu strategi yang tepat dalam implementasi kurikulum merdeka di sekolah lanjutan tingkat pertama. Strategi ini diterapkan untuk mengatasi beberapa permasalahan di kelas seperti pembelajaran yang monoton, keterbatasan sumber belajar, minimnya media pembelajaran, dan kurangnya minat belajar siswa. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengembangkan modul dan asesmen pembelajaran yang berbasis pada karakteristik peserta didik. Melalui pelatihan ini guru-guru dapat menghasilkan modul ajar yang dikembangkan sendiri sehingga dapat diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, tim abdimas Pascasarjana Universitas Negeri Medan telah merancang tahapan kegiatan mulai dari persiapan, pelaksanaan pelatihan, pendampingan, evaluasi dan perbaikan. Berdasarkan metode yang diterapkan telah diperoleh hasil kegiatan berupa modul ajar dan asesmen dari setiap guru mata pelajaran. Modul dan asesmen pembelajaran tersebut disusun berdasarkan kemampuan awal dan karakteristik siswa sehingga berdampak pada peningkatan hasil belajar, keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS) dan motivasi siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Modul dan asesmen tersebut telah menjadi perangkat pembelajaran yang digunakan guru dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran setiap hari di dalam kelas.

Abstract

The research is a development research with the aim to produce a product in the form of Malay Culture based module as a valid and effective learning resource. This research is done through development stage which refers to Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel development design that is 4-D design (four D models). The findings of the research are: 1) the developed module product meets the criteria of good / valid; 2) the effectiveness of the module is summarized based on: (i) Student learning completeness classically in the first test of 79.41% and in the second test of 82.35%, (ii) the achievement of the student's active activity and the ideal time on trial I and trial II is ideal; iii) students' positive responses to module product development on trial I of 92.65% and 95.92% in second try, and (iv) teacher management in learning on trial I and II is good.

Abstract

This research examines how conceptual comprehension, mathematical reasoning, and problem solving affect computational thinking. 122 students from class XI SMA Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar were given essay assessments on conceptual comprehension, mathematical reasoning, problem solving, and computational thinking. AMOS version 21 was used to analyze the test using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). This study found that conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and problem solving have a positive and significant effect on computational thinking ability with a contribution of 0.528. This means that 52.8% and 47.2% of computational thinking abilities are built by these three abilities, depending on other variables.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of students' geometry thinking based on Van Hiele's thinking theory, the level of students' geometric problem solving abilities, and analyzing students' difficulties in solving geometric problems. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The researcher took six research subjects consisting of low, medium, and high level geometry problem solving abilities to be interviewed and analyzed the types of difficulties experienced. The results of this study indicate that there are 26 students reaching level 0 (visualization), 21 students reach level 1 (analysis), 13 students reach level 2 (informal deduction), 6 students reach level 3 (deduction) and no one can reach level 4 (rigor). Furthermore, there are 13 students who have a low level of problem solving ability, 7 students have a medium level of problem solving ability, and 6 students have a high level of problem solving ability. The difficulties experienced by the research subject are described in each problem.

Abstract

The very rapid development of technology is slowly appearing in the world of education. Educational games are a form of multimedia that packages learning programs in the form of games, so besides being games, they are also educational. The use of game education technology as an interactive learning medium is one of the right ways to improve students' mathematical creative thinking skills. This educational game is expected to eliminate the feeling of boredom and fear of learning mathematics and can facilitate the learning process on geometry material for Senior High School (SMA)/Islamic Senior High School (MA). This study aims to develop an Android-based educational game that can be operated on various smartphones with the Android operating system and to test the feasibility of using adventure games as a medium for learning geometry. This game can be used as an alternative medium for learning geometry in changing conventional learning methods to learning game simulations, so as to improve students' mathematical creative thinking abilities, because in educational games it has elements of challenge, accuracy, reasoning and ethics. The methodology used in this research is the research development method or Research and Development (R & D) using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model with the following activity stages: (1) Analysis, gathering information; (2) Design, designing multimedia-based animation media and validating media designs; (3) Development, improvement of media design; (4) Implementation, media testing; (5) Evaluation, product revision.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Application of Inquiry Learning Models and Discovery Learning to Increase Motivation in Students at UPTD Sdn 122349 Pematangsiantar. This type of research is quantitative using an experimental model (quasi-experiment). The design of this study will use a 2x2 factorial design because there are 2 sub-variables in each independent and dependent variable. To determine the classes to be studied, namely experimental group 1 and experimental group 2 in class V at UPTD SD Negeri 122349 Pematangsiantar using a simple random sampling method. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion in this study, several conclusions are put forward as follows: There are differences in science learning outcomes in students taught with inquiry and Discovery learning models in class V students at UPTD SDN 122349 Pematangsiantar. There are differences in science learning motivation in students taught with inquiry and Discovery learning models in class V students at UPTD SDN 122349 Pematangsiantar. There is an interaction between the learning model and learning motivation in influencing science learning outcomes in grade V students at UPTD SDN 122349 Pematangsiantar. There is no interaction between the learning model and learning outcomes in influencing science learning motivation in grade V students at UPTD SDN 122349 Pematangsiantar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir komputasi siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Kami menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari dua siklus dengan materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Tiga Variabel (SPLTV) dengan melibatkan siswa kelas X SMA Dharma Pancasila Medan. Kami menggunakan instrumen berupa tes kemampuan berpikir komputasi dan observasi. Hasik penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil tes kemampuan awal siswa tergolong sangat rendah. Pada siklus I, rata-rata nilai tes kemampuan berpikir komputasi mengalami peningkatan. Pada siklus II, diperoleh rata-rata nilai tes kemampuan berpikir komputasi II mengalami peningkatan kategori tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir komputasi
