Abstract

The use of tofu waste water using the hydroponic technique of the floating raft system is not well known, so it needs to be done as an innovation. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of tofu liquid waste fermentation on the growth of red lettuce (Lactuca sativa L var. Red rapids) using the floating raft hydroponic technique. The research was carried out in an experimental stage, namely the effect of tofu liquid waste on the growth of red lettuce (Lactuca sativa L var. Red rapids). This research method is an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. Parameters observed were plant height, leaf width, number of leaves, root length, wet weight and dry weight. The results of the analysis of variance (Anava) at 5% level, the use of tofu liquid waste showed a significant effect on the growth of red lettuce. Giving a concentration of 2.5 liters of tofu liquid waste with 5 liters of water resulted in the best growth of red lettuce.

Abstract

Tanjung Kepulauan Meranti Village, Riau has production large sago plants so that the waste is used as animal feed with pellet technology. The purpose of this service to utilize sago pulp that has not been used as feed of broiler. The service method uses PAR, which is a method of involving community groups as whole in research activities so that positive social change occurs. The results show that community groups are very enthusiastic about participating in community service activities with indicators the ease with which community groups understand the material provided. Some of the material conveyed that sago pulp can be fermented to increase nutritional value, especially protein and reduce crude fiber, then fermented sago pulp can be used as broiler feed pellets. In conclusion, sago pulp can be used as a pellet product at a low price as an alternative to commercial pellet feed to reduce costs in broiler farming

Abstract

Ampas tebu memiliki komponen serat yang tinggi sehingga perlu adanya perbaikan nutrisi dengan penambahan legume indigofera yang diolah menggunakan teknik silase. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis profil nutrisi dan fraksi serat ampas tebu yang disilase dengan penambahan legume indigofera dan molases. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Pola Faktorial (3x2) dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor A terdiri dari: A1 = 100 % ampas tebu; A2 = 75 % ampas tebu + 25 % indigofera; A3 = 50 % ampas tebu + 50 % indigofera, selanjutnya faktor B terdiri dari: B0 = 5 % molases; B1 = 10 % molases. Parameter yang diamati meliputi kandungan nutrient silase (bahan kering, protein kasar, lemak kasar, serat kasar, abu dan Bahan Ekstrak Tanpa Nitrogen) % serta fraksi serat meliput (NDF dan ADF) %. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tidak terdapat interaksi (P>0.05) antara proporsi bahan ampas tebu + legume indigofera dengan penambahan molases terhadap parameter bahan kering, protein kasar, lemak kasar, dan Bahan Ekstrak Tanpa Nitrogen, serat kasar, NDF, dan ADF) %, tetapi faktor perlakuan proporsi bahan ampas tebu + legume indigofera berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bahan kering, protein kasar, abu, serat kasar, NDF dan ADF . Proporsi silase berbahan 50 % ampas tebu + 50 % legume indigofera menghasilkan nilai protein kasar tertinggi serta serat kasar, NDF, dan ADF terendah dibandingkan dengan kombinasi perlakuan lainnya. Selanjutnya penambahan molases hingga 10 % pada proses silase belum memperlihatkan kemampuan memperbaiki kualitas nutrisi dan fraksi serat secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

Cultivation of forages from graminae and legumes is an alternative source of fiber feed to meet basic living needs and ruminant livestock production. This research aims to assess the nutritional and WSC content of various forages as indicators and considerations in making silage. The research used a completely randomized design with 5 treatments with 4 replications. Regarding the treatment of forage types, namely A = elephant grass; B = Gama Umami; C= Mexican Grass; D= Odot grass; D = Indigofera beans. The research parameters are crude protein (%), crude fat (%), dry matter (%), ash, crude fiber (%), water-soluble carbohydrates (%), and NDF and ADF content (%). The results showed that different types of forage had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the nutritional value and WSC content. The research conclusion was that Indigofera legumes and odot grass had the highest WSC content, namely 4.59% and 4.49%. Furthermore, indigofera legumes and odot grass also produce the lowest NDF and ADF values compared to other treatments, so they have the potential to be used as raw materials for making silage to support the availability of ruminant feed

Abstract

Mutu kimia tanaman dapat dipengaruhi oleh waktu pemanenan. Waktu panen yang tepat pada saat bagian tanaman tersebut mengandung senyawa aktif dalam jumlah terbesar. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis pengaruh perbedaan waktu pemanenan terhadap mutu kimia daun sirih merah. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada Bulan Maret sampai Mei 2019 di Laboratorium Teknologi Pasca Panen (TPP) Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau dan Laboratorium Teknologi Hasil Pertanian (THP) Universitas Riau. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah waktu pemanenan terdiri atas 07.00 WIB (W1) (Pagi), 11.00 WIB (W2) (Siang) dan 15.00 WIB (W3) (Sore). Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial terdiri atas 6 ulangan. Ekstraksi menggunakan bahan pelarut etanol 96% selama 24 jam dengan cara direndam. Data dianalisis dengan sidik ragam dan apabila berpengaruh nyata maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan Multiple’s Range Test (DMRT). Pengamatan yang dilakukan terdiri atas Alkaloid, Total Antosianin, Kadar Air, Total Padatan Terlarut dan Warna. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan (W3) waktu panen 15.00 WIB (Sore) memberi pengaruh nyata dalam meningkatkan mutu kimia daun sirih merah dengan nilai rataan alkaloid (5,87 mg/g), total antosianin (8,50 mg/g), kadar air (14,54%), total padatan terlarut (1,34 oBrix) dan warna (153%).

Abstract

Sorghum and indigofera legumes are forage sources of energy and crude protein which can be combined into complete and inexpensive silage feed. This research aims to determine the quality of forage sorghum and indigofera legumes in the form of silage based on nutritional assessment. The research method used RAL with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments used were S0 (100% sorghum), S1 (70% sorghum + 30% indigofera legumes), S2 (30% sorghum + 70% indigofera legumes) + S3 (100% indigofera legumes) with each treatment added with molasses, corn flour and rice bran. The results showed that the combination treatment of sorghum + indigofera legumes influenced (P<0.05) all nutritional parameters observed. indigofera) because it can increase dry matter, crude protein, BETN as well. The best combination was found in the S2 treatment (30% sorghum + 70% indigofera legume) because it was able to increase dry matter, crude protein, BETN and reduce the overall crude fiber content of the silage.

Abstract

The provision of ruminant feed is always influenced by the quality and quantity of forage because it is based on field grass, even though there are cultivated forages in the form of corn and indigofera legumes which are rich in nutrients and long-lasting. This research aims to assess the nutritional value, WSC and invitro digestibility of silage made from corn forage and indigofera legume in different proportions as ruminant feed. The research method used a completely randomized design with 5 treatments with 4 replications. The treatments are P1 = 100% corn forage silage (CFS); P2 = 100% indigofera legume silage (ILS); P3 = 75% CFS + 25% ILS; P4 = 50% CFS + 50%  ILS and P5 = 75% CFS + 25%  ILS. The results showed that the 100%  ILS treatment produced the highest crude protein value (P<0.05), namely 18.77%. The highest NDF value (P<0.05) was in the 100% CFS treatment and the lowest was in the 100% ILS treatment (59.47% vs 42.07%). The highest IVDMD value was found in the 100% ILS treatment, 51.23%, and the lowest was in the 100% CFS treatment, 42.63%. The conclusion of this research is that 100% indigofera legume silage produces the highest crude protein, IVDMD and IVOMD values and produces the lowest crude fiber, NDF and ADF values compared to other treatments.

Abstract

Tanaman sorgum dan legume indigofera merupakan hijauan sumber energi dan protein yang dapat dikombinasi menjadi pakan silase lengkap kaya nutrisi dan murah sehinga dapat menjadi pengganti pakan konsentrat pabrikan yang mahal harganya berkibat mampu mengurangi biaya pakan bagi peternak. Silase merupakan pengolahan pakan dengan metode fermentasi anerob dengan melibatkan kerja bakteri asam laktat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kualitas silase berbahan dasar sorgum dan indigofera berdasarkan penilaian karakteristik fermentasi rumen dan kecernaan secara in vitro. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu S0 (100% sorgum), S1 (70% sorgum+30 % legume indigofera), S2 (30 % sorgum + 70% legume indigofera) + S3 (100% legume indigofera) dengan masing perlakuan ditambahkan dengan molases, tepung jagung dan dedak padi. Parameter yang diamati yaitu produksi NH3 (mM), total VFA (mM), KcBK (%) dan KcBO (%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan kombinasi sorgum + legume indigofera mempengaruhi (p<0,05) peningkatan seluruh parameter yang diamati. Berdasarkan proporsi terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan S3 (100 % legume indigofera) karena mampu meningkatkan secara optimal nilai kecernaan bahan kering (KcBK), kecernaan bahan organik (KcBO), produksi NH3, total VFA secara keseluruhan dibandingkan proporsi perlakuan lainnya. Silase dengan proporsi hijauan 100 % legume indigofera merupakan perlakuan terbaik sebagai pakan unggulan ternak ruminansia.

Abstract

Kombinasi limbah kulit nanas dan daun singkong berbentuk silase berpotensi sebagai alternatif penyediaan sumber pakan hijauan pengganti rumput lapang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi nilai nutrien dan kualitas serat silase kulit nanas dan daun singkong dengan penambahan berbagai level molases sebagai pakan ruminansia. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Pola Faktorial (4x2) dengan 2 ulangan. Faktor A adalah perbandingan komposisi antara kulit nanas dan daun singkong terdiri dari : A1 = 100 % kulit nanas ; A2 = 75% kulit nanas + 25% daun singkong; A3 = 50% kulit nanas + 50% daun singkong ; A4 = 25% kulit nanas + 75% daun singkong dam A5 = 100% daun singkong. Selanjutnya faktor B adalah level pemberian molases terdiri dari : B0 = 5% molases ; B1 = 10% molases. Parameter yang diukur meliputi bahan kering, protein kasar, lemak kasar, dan TDN serta komposisi fraksi serat meliputi NDF dan ADF. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat interaksi (P<0.05) antara proporsi kulit nanas + daun singkong dengan penambahan molases terhadap parameter protein kasar, lemak kasar, serat kasar, TDN, NDF, dan ADF (%). Selanjutnya faktor proporsi kulit nanas + daun singkong berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bahan kering. Kombinasi bahan 100% daun singkong dengan penambahan 5 % maupun 10% molases menghasilkan nilai protein kasar dan TDN tertinggi serta nilai serat kasar terendah dibandingkan perlakuan kombinasi lainnya. Penambahan kulit nanas hingga 75% mampu secara optimal menurunkan kandungan NDF dan ADF silase.
