Abstract

Background: Performance evaluation plays a crucial role in monitoring and assessing the activities of nurses over time. Optimal performance has the potential to positively impact individual work behaviors. However, the current nurse performance evaluation system is considered to be underperforming, and it has yet to deliver satisfactory results for clients in hospitals. Purpose: To identify the performance evaluation system implemented by the hospital in assessing nurse performance. Method: This review identified nursing performance evaluation through electronic searches using Scopus Q1 and Q2 indexed databases for articles published between 2020 and 2024. Of the 38 articles identified, the screening process resulted in 17 articles based on title and inclusion and exclusion criteria. After full-text due diligence, 7 articles remained ready for further review. Results: Identification shows various methods of performance evaluation, such as multi-source feedback, patient response, 360 degrees, website-based, and leadership evaluation. Each method has a positive impact, including the establishment of good relationships between professionals, improving the quality of service, and patient satisfaction. In addition, this method also increases nurses' self-confidence and supports nurses' health at work. All of this contributes to more effective decision making. Conclusion: Varied performance evaluation methods, such as multisource feedback, can enhance nurse performance when tailored to their competencies. Hospital management should develop evaluations that support work motivation without neglecting the health conditions of nurses.   Keywords: Evaluation; Hospitals; Nurse Performance.   Pendahuluan: Evaluasi kinerja memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam memantau dan menilai aktivitas perawat dari waktu ke waktu. Kinerja yang optimal berpotensi memberikan dampak positif pada perilaku kerja individu. Namun, sistem evaluasi kinerja perawat saat ini dianggap belum berjalan maksimal, sehingga belum mampu memberikan hasil yang memuaskan bagi klien di rumah sakit. Tujuan: Untuk mengidentifikasi sistem evaluasi kinerja yang diterapkan oleh rumah sakit dalam menilai kinerja perawat. Metode: Tinjauan ini mengidentifikasi evaluasi kinerja perawat melalui penelusuran elektronik menggunakan database yang terindeks Scopus Q1 dan Q2 untuk artikel yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2020-2024. Dari 38 artikel yang diidentifikasi, proses penyaringan menghasilkan 17 artikel berdasarkan judul serta kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Setelah uji kelayakan pada teks lengkap, tersisa 7 artikel yang siap untuk ditinjau lebih lanjut. Hasil: Identifikasi menunjukkan adanya berbagai metode evaluasi kinerja, seperti umpan balik multi sumber, respon pasien, 360 derajat, berbasis website, dan evaluasi pimpinan. Setiap metode memberikan dampak positif, termasuk terjalinnya hubungan yang baik antar profesional, peningkatan kualitas pelayanan, serta kepuasan pasien. Selain itu, metode ini juga meningkatkan kepercayaan diri perawat dan mendukung kesehatan perawat dalam bekerja. Semua ini berkontribusi pada pengambilan keputusan yang lebih efektif. Simpulan: Metode evaluasi kinerja yang variatif seperti multisumber dapat meningkatkan kinerja perawat dengan disesuaikan pada kompetensinya. Manajemen rumah sakit perlu mengembangkan evaluasi yang mendukung motivasi kerja tanpa mengabaikan kondisi kesehatan perawat.   Kata Kunci: Evaluasi; Kinerja Perawat; Rumah Sakit.

Abstract

Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) adalah kelainan jantung bawaan sianotik yang dapat menyebabkan hipoksemia kronik, terutama pada pasien yang hanya menjalani operasi paliatif Blalock-Taussig Shunt (BTS). Tujuan studi kasus ini adalah untuk menggambarkan penerapan teknik Pursed-Lip Breathing (PLB) dan Diaphragmatic Breathing Exercise (DBE) dalam meningkatkan oksigenasi dan mengurangi sesak napas pada pasien dewasa dengan TOF riwayat BTS. Subjek studi adalah pria 27 tahun yang mendapat intervensi PLB dan DBE selama empat hari, masing-masing lima siklus per hari. Hasil menunjukkan penurunan frekuensi napas dari 28 menjadi 22 kali/menit, peningkatan saturasi oksigen dari 66% menjadi 74%, serta penurunan skala sesak napas dari NRS 6 menjadi 3. Latihan pernapasan PLB dan DBE memberikan dampak positif terhadap ventilasi dan kenyamanan pasien dengan TOF dewasa riwayat BTS. Perawat berperan penting dalam edukasi dan pemantauan selama latihan berlangsung.

Abstract

Nurses constituted the largest workforce in the global healthcare system but faced challenges such as high workloads, limited decision-making autonomy, and a negative public image, all of which affected their quality of work life. This study aimed to map and analyze the quality of work life among hospital nurses and its influencing factors. A scoping review method was applied using the Arksey and O’Malley framework, guided by the PRISMA-ScR checklist. Literature was sourced from PubMed, Scopus, EBSCO, ScienceDirect, and Gscholar, focusing on full-text articles in English or Indonesian published between 2020 and 2025. Ten articles were included in the final review. Findings indicated that nurses’ quality of work life was generally at a moderate level. Among the four dimensions assessed, namely work life/home life, work design, work context, and work world, the highest scores were found in the work context dimension, while the lowest appeared in work life/home life and work world. Factors influencing these outcomes included age, gender, experience, workload, family responsibilities, shift patterns, and perceptions of the profession. This review highlighted the need for targeted organizational and policy-level strategies to improve nurses’ well-being at work.

Abstract

The issue of HIV/AIDS does not only impacts physical health but also affects other aspects of life. One of the social impacts of this disease is the stigma received by people living with HIV/AIDS. Stigma towards people living with HIV/AIDS is one of the biggest obstacles in HIV/AIDS prevention programs, care, treatment, and support programs. Objective: This study aims to obtain an overview level of the stigma held by the community in the tourist area of Batu Hiu Beach towards people living with HIV/AIDS based on demographic charateristic. Method: This research employs a descriptive quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach to examine the stigma in the community using a questionnaire adapted from the SHASS (Spanish HIV Stigma Scale). The population in this study consist of 750 individuals, with a sample of 261 individuals selected using the sample random sampling method. The analytical tool used is univariate. Results: Nearly the majority of respondents have a high level of stigma towards people living with HIV/AIDS (51.3%). Conclusions: The high level of stigma towards people living with HIV/AIDS indicates negative views, prejudice, and discriminatory attitudes in the community. Most respondents in this category have not received HIV/AIDS training (61.3%), have only completed primary education (69.2%), male (55%), and are in the early adulthood (65.5%) and elderly (63.6%) age groups

Abstract

Perawat di instalasi gawat darurat dan unit perawatan intensif memiliki beban kerja yang berat dan dituntut untuk memberikan pelayanan cepat serta tepat, sehingga berisiko menimbulkan permasalahan seperti stres kerja, burnout, sampai dengan turnover. Hal tersebut berdampak kualitas kehidupan kerjanya yang merupakan hal penting untuk meningkatkan produktivitas, menurunkan stres kerja, kelelahan kerja, serta meningkatkan kepuasan kerja. Tujuan penelitian mengidentifikasi kualitas kehidupan kerja pada perawat Critical Care Nursing di RSUD Kota Bandung. Metode menggunakan desain deskriptif kuantitatif, sebanyak 42 orang sampel dipilih menggunakan metode total sampling perawat IGD dan ICU di RSUD Kota Bandung. Analisis univariat disajikan menggunakan distribusi frekuensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata kualitas kehidupan kerja perawat IGD sebesar 188,70 (SD 26,643) dan ICU sebesar 186,77 (SD 24,491) atau berada diatas standar rerata sebesar 150, yang berarti sudah berada dalam kondisi sejahtera, mencakup semua dimensi meliputi work environment, relation with manager, work conditions, job perseptions, serta support service. Kualitas kehidupan kerja perawat dapat menjadi acuan dalam mengembangkan strategi untuk mempertahankan serta meningkatkan aspek yang belum sepenuhnya optimal berfokus pada pengadaan program pelatihan, penyesuaian jumlah perawat dengan beban kerja, dan sistem remunerasi lebih baik bagi perawat. Namun, analisis lanjutan diperlukan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor kualitas kehidupan kerja pada perawat Critical Care Nursing.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Pasien dengan kondisi Myastenic crisis memiliki resiko tinggi mengalami luka tekan yang disebabkan adanya penurunan fungsi otot, berkurangnya mobilitas dan nutrisi yang kurang akibat dampak dari penyakit. Selain meyebabkan lamanya proses penyembuhan, lamanya perawatan mempengaruhi kondisi psikologis pasien dan keluarga. salah satu intervensi yang dapat diberikan adalah penggunaan minyak zaitun, sebagai cairan anti-inflamasi dan dapat mempercepat penyembuhan luka. Namun intervensi yang diberikan tidak lepas dari pendekatan yang dilakukan pada pasien terutama jika pasiennya memiliki trust issues pada tenaga kesehatan. Pembahasan : Pasien Myastenic crisis mengalami suatu kondisi melemahnya fungsi otot sehingga berpengaruh pada pernapasan melemah atau bahkan kelumpuhan otot menyebabkan penderitanya mengalami sesak napas dan penurunan kesadaran. Berdasarkan hasil pengkajian dan observasi, diagnosa manajemen keperawatan pada kasus yaitu kurangnya keterlibatan pasien dalam perencanaan perawatan pencegahan terjadinya luka tekan terhadap Tn. A, dengan rencana intervensi; meningkatkan pengetahuan keluarga terkait pencegahan terjadinya luka tekan berdasarkan prinsip teoritis hasil pencarian EBP mengenai pegaruh minyak zaitun terhadap luka tekan. Kesimpulan: Implementasi yang dilakukan yaitu, mengimplementasikan intervensi sesuai EBP yang telah didapat terapi non farmakologi pencegahan luka tekan dengan minyak zaitun, minyak zaitun terbukti sangat efektif dalam merawat pasien yang harus tirah baring dalam jangka waktu yang lama untuk mencegah timbulnya ulkus dekubitus.

Abstract

Nurse workload is all activities, activities, actions taken by a nurse while the nurse is on duty in a hospital service unit. The purpose of this literature is to identify which method is more effective and efficient to measure the workload of nurses. Article review was carried out through several electronic databases including Google Scholar, Google Scholar, Pubmed with the keyword "nurse workload", inclusion criteria included articles published between 2015 and 2022, full text in both English and Indonesian. A literature search found 72 articles, then 51 articles were removed according to the exclusion criteria, so that only 8 articles were identified. The results of the literature study show that the WISN method is most often used to determine the workload of health workers, not only nurses. made by several people including Richa Noprianty et al, 2020 with the topic Analysis of Nurses Staff Needs Using Workload Indicate Staff Need in Pediatric Ward with Time Motion Study, Taufique Joarder et al, 2020 with the topic Assessment of staffing needs for physicians and nurses at Upazila health complexes in Bangladesh using WHO workload indicators of staffing need (WISN) method and Angélica Araújo de Menezes et al,  2022 with the topic Application of the workload indicators of staffing need method to calculate the size of the medical staff at a maternity hospital in the state of Bahia, Brazil. But beyond that, it doesn't mean that other methods are ineffective, because each method has its own advantages and disadvantages, it's up to the researchers or the hospital to choose which method to use.

Abstract

Nursing professional organizations in Indonesia have established standardized guidelines for nursing documentation. However, the formulation of nursing diagnoses is still carried out as a routine activity by nursing teams, resulting in cases where diagnoses are not established according to proper standards. This community service program aimed to improve nurses’ understanding of nursing diagnosis formulation in accordance with Indonesian standards. The activity was implemented using a mini-seminar method involving 30 participants from two hospitals in the Bandung area. It was part of an activity based on Kemmis and McTaggart’s theory. In the preliminary phase, evaluation was conducted using a knowledge scale measurement and documentation observation to assess the number of nursing diagnoses implemented. The results showed an improvement in nurses’ ability to formulate nursing diagnoses, marked by an increase in understanding from only 10% before the activity to 83.33% after, with a p-value <0.001. In addition, the average number of nursing diagnosis labels increased from two to five per nurse. These findings indicate that the mini-seminar method is effective in enhancing nurses’ ability to formulate nursing diagnoses in accordance with established standards. Keywords: Nursing diagnosis, partisipatory research.
