Abstract

Pengukuran dimensi tinggi tubuh pedet sapi bali dilakukan 6 kali pengukuran mulai umur 0 bulan (baru lahir) sampai 6 bulan.

Abstract

This study aims were to determine the relationship between the parts of the front and rear foot length of bali calf with its parent. The object of the research consisted of 30 breeding calves and 30 individuals namely 15 male and female newborn respectively. Data in the form of measures footlong pieces of stem and parts of the calf leg length were analyzed using linear regression analysis. To determine whether there are differences between the parts of the front and rear foot length between the male with the female calf in a test with test T. The greater the ratio shows the development of long pieces of front and rear legs shows the earlier development. At birth the sizeof the back foot bottom, middle and top of the calf males and females, 63.7%, 46.5%, and 43.5% respectively of the size of its parent. Similarly, the size of the front foot down the middle and upperparts, 59.2%, 46.7%, and 44.9% respectively of the size of its parent. Development of parts of the front and rear leg starting from the bottom, middle and last at the top.

Abstract

This study aimed to reveal somatometric variation in the population of swamp buffalo (Bubalus Bubalis) in Ijo Gading West Team and Ijo Gading East Team in Jembrana. This study involved 68 swamp buffalo (37 in Regu Ijo Gading Barat and 26 in Regu Ijo Gading Timur). The variables of this Somatometric are the height of its shoulder, its hip, the round of its chest, its long, and its neck. The final result of this test is there is no difference somatometric on both popuoations. Result of the main component analysis is shows that the character of its shapes and size from both populations are the same. The characteristic factors of its size are the round of its chest and its long. In other wise the characteristic factors of its shapes are the height of its shoulder and its hip. The round of its chest give a significant shapes factor but it is negative. In fact there is not too much different betwen both population somatometricaly.

Abstract

Long-tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis) are Southeast Asian endemic animal with its behaviors and interactions form a protective cohesive group on its territory. Such patterns create distinctions that can be detected by microsatellite variations. This study revealed polymorphism of the D7S1789 microsatellite locus in a population of long-tailed macaques in Mount Pusuk West Lombok with the aim of knowing the genetic variation in the form of number of alleles, allele frequencies, heterozygosity and Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium based on its allele’s distributing the Chi-square test. A total of 17 blood samples of long tailed macaque extracted used QIAamp DNA blood kit from QIAGEN to get DNA, DNA from locus D7S1789 microsatellite was replicated through 30 cycles of PCR technique, with annealing temperature 57°C. The alleles were raised by silver staining using 8% polyacrylamide gel. The results obtained two alleles with a frequency of 121 bp (0.794) and 130 bp (0.206), heterozygosity (0.337) and Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium test (?2 count) was 0.422 (?2 table = 3.841; ? = 0.05; db = 1) which indicates a random mating population. It can be concluded that the D7S1789 microsatellite locus was polymorphic in the population of long-tailed monkeys in Mount Pusuk, West Lombok.

Abstract

Population growth and aggressiveness are important factors on macaque populations in which their habitats are used as tourist destinations. Controlling those two factors may decrease the negative impact of population both to its surrounding environment and to the internal circumstance of population. This Community Service was packed as a vasectomy and canine cutting services on the adult male of long tailed macaques occupying a tourist destination of Uluwatu, Badung Regency. Vasectomy is a surgical division of all or part of vas deferens to induce sterility. Surgical resection of part of vas deferens used a bilateral slicing method. Additional medical treatments were also performed according to cases encountered in field. During this performance, one selected adult male was vasectomy-surged and four adult males subjected to canine cutting. An operation of removing rubber encircling the neck of a juvenile macaque was done successfully. Moreover, uprooting snare tied the left leg (near tarsal region) of sub adult male was also performed successfully. A week later, Uluwatu manajement reported that all individuals formerly subjected to medical treatments were in good health and their wounds went to be healing completely.
