Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the crisis of ecological significance that occurred in traditional rituals in the post-Reform era. Traditional rituals that genealogically seek to integrate human relationships with supernatural powers and natural harmony are massively incorporated into the tourism mechanism. To discuss the issue, we will combine Foucauldian and post-colonial exotic perspectives. The research data we took from our field research in Banyuwangi and news in online media. We analyze the data to find the hegemonic inclination in interpreting ritual under tourism regime. The results of this study indicate that the post-Reformation state regime increased ritual-based tourism activity to gain maximum financial benefits. Gradually, people are also affected by the hegemony of the discourse, so they begin to regularly celebrate rituals without emphasizing the ecological power in them. Under these conditions an eco-cultural movement is needed that can raise public awareness of the importance of returning to integrating rituals with ecological problems.

Abstract

Abstract

The condition of the Covid-19 pandemic is of course the background and the reason. The pandemic has clearly hit the economy (Marpaung, Adrian, and Putri 2020). It spreads to other aspects of life as well. Not only local, regional, or national, even global. Heavy and not easy. The government is forced to manage its resources and focus on the impact of the pandemic. The local government of Banyuwangi Regency is no exception. Resources are forced to be directed, refocused on dealing with the impact of the pandemic. The public awaited Ipuk Fiestiandani and Deputy Regent Sugirah. Both his presence and his ideas. Understandably, people are concerned, anxious, suffering, and even almost desperate. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The Regent called Banyuwangi Rebound. To mark his leadership krida. The regent seems serious. The Banyuwangi Rebound slogan then adorned the banners and stage backdrops for Banyuwangi Regency government activities. Banyuwangi Rebound then became the keyword. People started to talk about it. This Writing Method Is Descriptive. We all learn from the pandemic. From difficult situations and conditions. From the perspective of liminality, the pandemic should produce innovations in the outer and inner systems, especially with regard to the way humans fulfill their needs. Like it or not, like it or not, Regent Ipuk and Deputy Regent Sugirah must step up. You have to choose where to go. Ipuk believes that the pandemic will not end soon. The pandemic will still suck up resources. What must be overcome is not only the economy, but the impact of the economic downturn and a number of counter-pandemic views. Like it or not, like it or not, policies and programs.

The purpose of this study is to describe the forms and factors behind the occurrence of code mixing in daily communication in the speech of Benteng Chinese ethnic community in Desa Lebak Wangi, Tangerang. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The results obtained from the data analysis show that the code mix in this study consists of two forms, namely: (1) code mix in the form of words; and (2) code mix in the form of phrases. Code mix in the form of words includes: (1) basic words; (2) affixed words; and (2) repeated words. The factors behind the code mix consist of three factors, namely: (1) role identification factor; (2) variety identification factor; and (3) desire to explain/interpret factor. Among the four code-mix entries in this study, Sundanese was the most common. The inclusion of Betawi language elements occurs when communicating with family and neighbors to emphasize or show something with high intonation. The inclusion of English elements occurs when young people mention the use of words on the internet or social media.

Abstract

The Beji Antaboga tourist site provides a religious atmosphere full of tolerance by building various statues of religious symbols located in a forest in Banyuwangi. The harmony between humans and nature is very well maintained at this location. This nuance is supported by a fictional story that is believed by the local community, namely the Antaboga dragon. However, the place is fully taken care of by Hindus who are indeed attached to protecting the surrounding nature, and their commitment to guard several points of springs. This research aims to measure the inter-religious relations in the area and also to analyze the extent to which folklore as a discourse can be recontextualized as an effort to harmonize the bond of humans with nature. The research method used is qualitative, the first step applies the narrative structure of the story through actantial theory, the second is tracing the hypogram for the Antaboga story which dated back to Hindu’s teaching, and the last is looking at discourse as a power practice to recontextualize the harmonius reality. The finding shows Antaboga story is indeed to legitimise nature as the centre and not humans as the main actors.

Abstract

The Banyuwangi Regency General Election Commission through the Banyuwangi Regency KPU Decree No. 15/HK.03.1-Kpt/3510/KPU-Kab/II/2021 dated February 18, 2021, determined the Ipuk-Sugirah pair as Regent and Deputy Regent who won in the Pilkada contestation Banyuwangi 2020. An interesting thing was conveyed by the regent in focusing on economic recovery due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Of course, we hope that the goal of economic recovery will run smoothly and the indicators will be achieved. In the economic recovery section due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are 7 points that are the targets of renewal. The problem that occurs in people's lives is that an increase in per capita income may not raise people's real living standards. The infrastructure development policy that prioritizes villages as passive patronage is a policy that is close to the welfare barn. Considering the potential of the village is the closest potential to ensure welfare, these glasses are certainly very difficult to find when the orientation of the leader is only limited to developmentalism but when the orientation of the leader is focused on the interests of the community, of course, the theory of social analysis needs to be developed. This Writing Method Is Descriptive. Descriptive method is a method that aims to describe or provide an overview of the object under study through data or samples that have been collected as they are without analyzing and making conclusions that apply to the public. The Covid-19 pandemic has proven not only to destroy the economy. But, also killing humans en masse. It's not just about killing large numbers of people. But it also kills the hopes of many people. Society is overshadowed by anxiety, confusion, and helplessness. His life is threatened, his source of livelihood is also threatened. Not in a short time. In Indonesia since the beginning of 2020. No one can confirm the stopping point. All of this can lead to despair. The situation for Ipuk – Sugirah's departure was very different. Let's look at the initial energy. Ipuk – Sugirah started the government with a significantly lower APBD. The 2020 APBD is 3.3 trillion rupiah. Ipuk - Sugirah started her government with the 2021 APBD of 2.7 trillion. Down about 600 billion rupiah. Certainly not a small number for the size of the district.

Abstract

Psychoanalysis has been able to assert historically that it is not a closed branch of science to other disciplines. Its contribution to literature and culture makes it able to flexibly explain the dilemma of subject formation both in literature and culture. Freud, the founding father of psychology owes a debt to the Oedipus Rex story that anchors his entire thought. Acrobatically, Freud's thought was then continued by Lacan in order to explain cultural events that were born like language structure events. Language, literature, and culture then have a meeting point where the cultural process that is never final is precisely a signal that the subject always tries to overcome the shortcomings in himself when slaughtered by language. Language is unable to express itself fully, so literature and culture as products are nothing, but an extension of the subject who continues to feel lack. Zizek as the latest thinker from the previous two generations makes a foothold that the back and forth between the author and his work as an attempt to overcome the logic of deficiency or symptoms embodying the self and the fictional world in order to achieve wholeness exactly like the experience of returning to the mother's body or the real.

Abstract

Sukamade is one of the hamlets in Sarongan Village, Pesanggaran District, Banyuwangi Regency. Sukamade is an enclave village or a village that is spatially concentrated in the middle of the TNMB forest area and the community has a high dependence on the TNMB forest environment. The Sukamade community has economic, social and cultural vulnerabilities. This condition needs to be paid concern to by providing access to utilize the potential for ecotourism activities in Sukamade. Hopefully, the community will gain motivation to participate in conservation activities (community-based conservation). Pokmas PPA as one of the elements of society in Sukamade is introduced into Sukamade Enclave Village Ecotourism (SEVE). In order to accomplish SEVE, it is necessary to (a) strengthen the institutional capacity of Pokmas PPA; (b) Strengthening ecotourism knowledge and skills of Pokmas PPA members; (c) Strengthening ecotourism attractions; and D). Strengthening information and promotion media through social media. Institutional strengthening is carried out through training and assistance in the issuance of AD/ART, SOP, legality of notary deeds/AHU Kemenkumham, NPWP and bank accounts in the name of Pokmas PPA. The efforts to strengthen ecotourism knowledge and skills also need to be carried out in Pokmas PPA related to safety, services and interpretation-education. Strengthening ecotourism attractions is the basis for SEVE's introduction through the riverside coffee and jungle track attractions. Delivery of information and promotion of Pokmas PPA activities is carried out by providing training and assistance in creating and filling content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube accounts.

Abstract

Dutch colonialism from 1860 to 1935 witnessed a prevalent phenomenon of indigenous women in the Dutch East Indies entering into concubinage arrangements with European men, often assuming the position of “nyai” (mistresses) due to various socioeconomic factors. This study explores whether this situation was universal among indigenous women by examining the case of Robinah, who achieved an esteemed status during this era. Utilizing feminist theory and historical research methodologies, the investigation analyzes primary and secondary sources related to the Regentschap Bondowoso region in East Java. The research reveals that Robinah, a woman of Madurese descent, became the legitimate wife of Dutch investor George Birnie, diverging from the typical concubinage model. Robinah's intellectual acumen and communicative prowess were crucial in expanding Birnie's tobacco plantation enterprise, facilitating labor acquisition and land management within the predominantly Madurese local community. This case exemplifies how certain relationships between Dutch men and indigenous women could transcend the conventional concubinage paradigm, resulting in more egalitarian partnerships and enhanced social standing for the indigenous women involved. The study contributes to the scholarly discourse on the intricate dynamics of cross-cultural relationships and female agency within colonial contexts. Navigating mixed marriages can be challenging due to family resistance and social pressures, which can hinder the couple's integration into each other's groups. Sociological research examining power dynamics and identity in these unions is crucial for understanding their impact on social change and harmony and overcoming these obstacles.
