Abstract

Problems that arise during online learning must be addressed immediately, including learning to read English. Many students do not achieve effective learning and tend to rely on smartphones instead of using the results of their own ideas and thoughts. The SQ3R method is a method for learning reading that can help students understand English texts with the analysis stage and generate ideas and creativity from their own minds. This study aims to determine: How to implementation SQ3R method in online English learning. This research is a qualitative research by describing how the implementation of the SQ3R method and the results of the SQ3R method that have been carried out online. The participants in this study were 25 students of grade 8F at SMP N 1 Tempel . Collecting data in the form of student interview questionnaires, transcripts of teacher interviews and photos of the implementation of the SQ3R method online. Through research instruments in the form of interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The collected data were analyzed descriptively in the form of presentation tables and presentation of interview transcripts and questionnaires. The first stage of data collection in this study was teacher and student interviews, then applied the SQ3R method to students and documentation of the results of the SQ3R method applied by students. The results of implementation of SQ3R method indicate that the SQ3R method can be applied online by enabling teachers to create media that can help students understand the SQ3R method.

Abstract

his study aims (1) to describe the problems of students when they have to translate an abstract from Indonesia to English, (2) to describe translation technique (TT) used by students when translating abstract, (3) to describe the impact of the application of TT used on the quality of abstract translation, (4) to describe the solution that the researcher takes to solve the problems in translating abstract. This study was conducted at University of PGRI Yogyakarta, 27th June 2021. It was qualitative study with total 10 respondents using FGD technique. They were 5 males and 5 females (four students of management, three students of history education, two students of civics education, and one student of mathematics education).  Interviews and questionnaire in FGD were used to collect the data. The result showed that (1) the respondents have problems in translating abstract such as in choosing article, in understanding the English, in having less vocabulary, in knowing the meaning, in asking someone’s help to translate, in understanding grammar, in translating abstract without any help from their supervisor and in translating abstract using Google translate only. (2) The respondents used pure borrowing and established equivalent techniques. (3) The application of pure borrowing and established equivalent technique have impacted to the translation quality. Their abstract translation quality score C, D and E. (4) The researcher did the small training as the solution to improve their abstract quality.

Abstract

research is entitled “An Analysis of Techniques of Adjustment in Translating ReligiousText Vocabularies (A Study on Series of A Handbook on the Revelation to John)”. It is about howreligious text vocabularies are translated by using technique of adjustment. It is aimed to find types oftechniques of adjustment and their subtypes.This research uses qualitative method to analyze the data. Techniques of analyzing data in thisresearch consist of 3 components; they are (1) reducing the data, (2) explaining the data, and (3)taking a conclusion. Reducing data is a process of selecting, focusing, simplifying and abstracting thedata. Explaining the data is a process of organizing information and arranging the completenarration. Taking a conclusion is a process of drawing conclusion from the data. The data sources ofthis research are A Handbook on the Revelation to John and its Indonesian translation entitled SeriPedoman Penafsiran Alkitab Wahyu Kepada Yohanes.After conducting the research, the researcher finds 73 data. Alteration technique is in the firstposition with 55 data or 74.2%. Then, addition technique is in the second position with 12 data or16.4%. The last is subtraction technique with 6 data or 8.2%. Addition technique is divided into 3classifications, i.e. obligatory specifications (3 data or 4.1%), amplifications (7 data or 9.6%), andclassifiers (2 data or 2.7%). Subtraction technique is divided into 2 classifications, i.e. conjunctions(3 data or 4.1%) and formulae (3 data or 4.1%). Alteration technique is divided into 7 classifications,i.e. sounds (15 data or 20.5%), categories (6 data or 8.2%), word classes (2 data or 2.7%), order (6data or 8.2%), clause and sentence structure (1 datum or 1.4%), semantic problems involving singleword (19 data or 26%), and semantic problems involving exocentric expression (6 data or 8.2%).This research is expected to open wide opportunities and challenges to academicians,646333255especially those in translation linguistics sphere to deepen their research and study,especially in translating the holy religious texts in order to be a new contribution to the translationfields.

Abstract

The television program of Mata Najwa on Trans 7, is well-known for its high rating, often invites public figures from society, politics and government. The program is used as a strategic media for groups of people from the background of social and politics, employing the oral designing, to influence public’s perception and opinion. As a result, it forms a particular discourse. A good discourse should not reveal various perception of the recipients. From every oral discourse being produced (either it is good or bad) will form various perception and drive public’s opinion. In this investigation, it focuses on Mata Najwa’s “Gara-Gara Tagar” which was broadcast live on Wednesday September 5th 2018 in Trans 7. The study of discourse, in this research, employs Van Dijk modeling on critical discourse analysis whose perspective is that language has strong relationship with power, ideology and politics. Three research problems being investigated in this research are textual analysis (micro structure), super-structure analysis and social-contextual analysis (macro structure). This is qualitative research by conducting observation to gain the data. The results of this research are macro structure, super structure analysis and micro structure analysis. Discourse can be employed as a media to making opinion which influences public’s opinion through sentences, diction and language styles.

Abstract

This research is entitled “The Translation Problem Types in Translating Indonesia textinto English (A Case Study of Translation Subject of Fifth Semester English Department –UPY) . It is about how Indonesia text is translated into English by English students, toidentify the translation problems, and to identify the problematics of translation technique.This research uses qualitative method to analyze the data. Techniques of analyzing datain this research consist of 3 components, they are (1) reducing the data, (2) explaining thedata, and (3) taking a conclusion. Reducing data is a process of selecting, focusing,simplifying and abstracting the data. Explaining the data is a process of organizinginformation and arranging the complete narration. Taking a conclusion is a process ofdrawing conclusion from the data. The data source of this research are Indonesia text andstudent’s translation.After conducting the research, the research find the data that all respondents havesimilar translation problem types in translating Indonesia text into English. The problems arediction, tenses, no equivalence translation; others have problems of adverb, article, andrelative clause. None of respondents apply other translation technique. They only apply wordper word translation technique. The accuracy of transfer level is adequate level. Only onerespondent have almost completely successful transfer level. Other respondents haveadequate accuracy transfer level. By applying the untrue translation technique has an impactto translation accuracy transfer level.This research is expected to open wide opportunities and challenges to academicians,especially those in translation linguistics sphere to deepen their research and study, especiallyin translating Indonesia text to English in order to be a new contribution to the translationfields.

Abstract

University of KH.. A. Wahab Hasbullah Jombang is a private university with a number of students reaching 2,300 in 2021. The large number of students demands manpower and time to provide administrative services to students. One of the student services that needs attention is the service for taking certificates and graduations which are still done manually. The purpose of this research is to make it easier for staff, prospective graduate students, and graduation committees to manage graduation activities and take certificates by utilizing digital media. This research was conducted at the University of KH. A. Wahab Habullah Jombang uses the experimental method. The development model used is the waterfall model. The test results of applications developed using the blackbox method show that the system developed is in accordance with the expected results. This means that the application developed is feasible to be applied to management activities for sending graduations and taking diplomas at University of KH.. A. Wahab Hasbullah Jombang.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) find out students' perceptions of the use of motivational word translation posters in vocabulary learning at MA Jabal Nur; and (2) determine the translation techniques used in the use of poster translation of motivational word. This research used a qualitative method where the data collection was done by observation, interview, and documentation so that it could explore more deeply related problems found at MA Jabal Nur about the limited vocabulary of students. The subjects of this research are students in grade X at MA Jabal Nur. The object of this research is to use English language learning to increase students' vocabulary by using motivational word translation posters that are pasted all over the walls of MA Jabal Nur classrooms. The results of this study indicate that it can have a positive influence on students at MA Jabal Nur NTT. They were 19 students said it was very helpful to increase student vocabulary, and 1 student is quite difficult to memorize because he forgets quickly, but after the poster media posted by the researcher, it took days to remember the vocabulary he read repeatedly. While one student finds it difficult to understand learning English, the student is quite capable of recognizing English vocabulary, but knowing or memorizing the source language is very difficult for him. As for the techniques used in the translation poster media, among others: Established equivalence techniques as much as 223 or around (78.0%), while amplification techniques as much as 20 or around (7.0%). Pure borrowing technique as much as 4 about (1.4%) and natural borrowing 3 about (1.0%)

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Content Marketing dan Sosial Media terhadap Minat Beli Ulang melalui Keputusan Pembelian pada Bekind.id. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pelanggan yang menjadi followers social media dan pernah melihat konten dari Bekind.Id sedangkan sampel dalam penelitian ini ditentukan menggunakan rumus slovin sehingga jumlah sampel yang didapat dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 92 sampel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengancara menyebaran kusioner terhadap objek penelitian. Metode statistik yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis menggunakan bantuan aplikasi SmartPLS versi 3.0. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) Content Marketing berpengaruh negative dan signifikan terhadap minat beli ulang, (2) social media berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat beli ulang, (3) Content Marketing berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian, (4) Sosial Media berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian. (5). Keputusan Pembelian berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Minat beli ulang, (6) Keputusan pembelian tidak memediasi pengaruh Content marketing terhadap minat beli ulang, (7) Keputusan pembelian memediasi pengaruh Content Marketing terhadap minat beli ulang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh kenyamanan, bonus dan tunjangan terhadap kinerja melalui loyalitas karyawan pada Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Pangkajene. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan aplikasi SPSS 26 hasil sebaran kuisioner selama periode penelitian. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah karyawan Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Pangkajene berjumlah 38 orang karyawan menggunakan Teknik slovin. Metode analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji instrumen data, uji asumsi klasik regresi linier berganda, pengujian hipotesis dan analisis path. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa secara partial (1) variabel Kenyamanan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap loyalitas karyawan pada Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Pangkajene (2) Variabel kenyamanan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Pangkajene (3) Variabel bonus berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap loyalitas karyawan pada Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Pangkajene (4) Variabel bonus berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Pangkajene (5) Variabel tunjangan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap loyalitas karyawan pada Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Pangkajene (6) Variabel tunjangan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Pangkajene. (7) Variabel loyalitas berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Pegadaian Syariah Cabang. Abstract

Corporate stakeholders, including owners and managers, have different interests, often becoming obstacles in implementing good corporate governance and achieving corporate goals. Conflicts of interest can lead to unfair practices in decision-making and adversely affect the company's image and performance, especially if morals and business ethics are ignored. No matter how good a system is in place in the company, if employees or management behave deviantly and violate a business ethic, fraud can occur which is very detrimental to the company and ends in bankruptcy. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of indicators of good corporate governance mechanisms on financial performance in food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The data analysis used is multiple regression analysis, normality test, partial significance test (t test), determination test (r2), multicolinerity test, heteroscedasticity test, and multicollinearity test with the help of SPSS. The samples used in this study amounted to 8 companies. With the observation period carried out is 4 years from 2015 to 2018. The results of this study indicate that institutional ownership has a positive and significant effect on financial performance, the number of boards of commissioners has a positive and significant effect on financial performance and the number of boards of directors has a negative and significant effect on financial performance
