Abstract

Pada Jalan Z.A.

Abstract

Abstract

Ryacudu Street in Sukarame District, Bandar Lampung City is the main route connecting the city center with the Trans Sumatra Toll Road. However, the design, provision of facilities, and maintenance of sidewalks along this road do not support optimal walking feasibility. Problems found include uneven sidewalk surfaces, discontinuous designs, many physical obstacles, and minimal supporting facilities. This study aims to analyze the Walkability Index on the Ryacudu Street sidewalk using nine parameters from the Global Walkability Index (GWI) approach. The results of the analysis show that the walkability value is in the range of 50–69, which is included in the “Waiting to Walk” category. This means that some pedestrian facilities can still be used, but are not optimal in terms of comfort, safety, security, and accessibility. Therefore, improvements are needed in the physical arrangement of sidewalks, provision of facilities, public space management policies, and enforcement of pedestrian space utilization regulations. This analysis provides strategic information on areas that need to be improved based on the value of each parameter analyzed.

Abstract

Toll road development in Indonesia is a key driver of regional connectivity and economic growth, yet its social impacts are often complex and insufficiently captured by conventional evaluation methods. This study analyzes the dynamic social impacts of the Bakauheni–Terbanggi Besar Toll Road in Lampung Province using a system dynamics approach. Unlike prior impact assessments that rely on static indicators, this research explicitly models feedback interactions among social and economic variables through a Causal Loop Diagram (CLD). Data were obtained from literature review, policy documents, and regional socioeconomic indicators. The model groups variables into three interrelated clusters: mobility and accessibility, local economic activity, and social interaction. The results identify two reinforcing feedback loops linking improved accessibility to economic growth and investment to infrastructure expansion, and one balancing loop associated with agricultural land conversion and increased livelihood vulnerability. The analysis reveals that short-term economic gains may induce long-term social risks, including livelihood transformation and social inequality, if mitigation measures are not systematically integrated. These findings demonstrate the value of system dynamics for anticipating unintended social consequences of large-scale transport infrastructure projects.

Abstract

The Way Ratai Highway serves as a primary transportation corridor connecting Bandar Lampung City to major tourist destinations in Pesawaran Regency, including Mutun Beach, Klara Beach, and Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park. This 58.8-kilometer route crosses four sub-districts and plays a vital role in supporting tourism-related traffic. The increasing volume of visitors has contributed to a heightened risk of traffic accidents along the corridor. This study aims to examine the characteristics of traffic accidents and to identify accident-prone segments (black sites) using the Equivalent Accident Number (EAN) and Upper Control Limit (UCL) methods. Traffic accident data were obtained from the Traffic Accident Unit of the Pesawaran Police Department, covering the period from 2019 to 2023. The analysis reveals that motorcycles were the most frequently involved vehicles, with the majority of victims being male and under the age of 18. The most common type of accidents was front-side collisions, and the highest frequency of incidents occurred in the afternoon. Based on the EAN and UCL calculations, two segments were identified as black sites: Sukajaya Lempasing Village and Wates Way Ratai Village. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for improving traffic safety along this tourism corridor.
