The experiment was conducted in SMA Institut Indonesia on 28 March to 24 April 2017. The samples are two classes using cluster random sampling technique for normally distributed populations and homogeneous. The study design used is modified comparison group pretest-posttest design. The study design used is the mean difference test, analysis of the influence between variables, and the determination of the coefficient of determination. The test results show the mean difference 5.03 t greater than t table at the 5% significance level is 1.99. Analysis of the influence between variables produce biserial coefficient value of 0.74. Calculation of the coefficient of determination shows the application of guided inquiry-aided model of e-modules accounted for 29.16% of the science process skills. Results of science process skills of observation showed that the proportion of students who achieve the experimental class was excellent and good categories was 0.51 higher than the control class is 0.25. Based on the results of this study concluded that the application of guided inquiry assisted e-module contributes to the students' science process skills.

Abstract

Skills in the learning process are needed by students to be able to shape and develop the character possessed. This study aims to identify basic science process skills of students assisted practical worksheet based on multiple representations as media. This research was conducted by observation method that was done at the time of practicum activity by using an observation sheet and test method with response test. Students did practicum with practical worksheet media equipped with basic science process skills indicator and multiple representation level. Then the students worked the question with the basic science process skill indicators in it. Based on the analysis of the observation result, the basic science process skills profile of students in SMAN 11 Semarang was included in the high criteria with a range of 68 to 84. The criteria for each basic science process skills indicator were also analyzed from practicum 1 and practicum 2 which is high for indicators to observation, classifying, measuring, inferencing, predicting and knowing the relation of numbers and very high for indicators communicating and knowing relation between space and time. It can be concluded that students have demonstrated proficiency profile of basic science process. This research can be used as a reference for teachers and other researchers to improve student’s basic science process skills on different subjects.

Abstract

Teacher as a facilitator is expected to explore the potential of students to be able to master the material with minimal mastery. This research aims to understand the concept of students' increased understanding of the material stoichiometry with guided inquiry learning model application. Experimental research conducted in SMAN 6 Semarang. The research sample is determined by purposive sampling class X MIPA 7 (an experimental class with 36 students) and Class X MIPA 8 (a control class with 36 students). Theused instrument is a cognitive achievement test. Analysis of students' cognitive learning outcomes data using the N-gain average test obtained 80.94%, with the average of an experimental group of students by 83.00% and theaverage of control group students by 76.94%. Achievement of experimental class minimum completeness criteria 91.67% and a standard deviation of 6.21 is higher than the minimum completeness criteria for achievement grade control by 69.44% and a standard deviation of 7.38. The t-test analysis obtained t value of 57.61 is greater than t table at a significance level of 0.05 by 2.03. The results of the analysis stated that there is significant influence guided inquiry learning model application of the cognitive achievement of students on the concept of stoichiometry.

Abstract

Twenty first century learning directs teachers and students to develop learning to promote critical thinking skills. The learning model accommodating critical thinking skills is inquiry. Chemistry learning modules that have not used a chemical representation approach. This study aims to produce chemical representation based equilibrium modules with a decent and quality inquiry approach. This research is a development research from Thiagarajan modified 4D model. Four stages of development are Define (design), Design (Develop), Develop (development), and Disseminate (spread), with disseminate not done. Evaluation of module feasibility is seen from the validity and effectiveness of the module. The effectiveness of the module is seen from the increase in learning outcomes and improvement of students' critical thinking skills. Based on the results of the analysis obtained a validity value of 3.41 (85.25%) with a very good category. In a large-scale trial obtained an increase in learning outcomes through the N-Gain test obtained an average value of 0.72 with a high category, while the aspect of critical thinking was assessed based on observations on the observations and explanations of students in answering questions. Critical thinking ability of students at a score of 3.35 with a good predicate. While the response of students who agreed to use the chemical module was 96%. The average score of posttest using critical thinking questions is 81.39. Based on the results of the evaluation of inquiry-based chemical equilibrium material modules and the chemical representation approach it is said to be feasible and effective for learning.

Abstract

The development of technology is currently one of the demands for teachers and prospective teachers to be able to create learning media that appeals to students so that students have an interest in learning. The use of the web-based learning media integrated with evaluation can be one of the solutions in chemistry learning. The purpose of this research is to know the validity and response of students about learning media developed. The development model used in this research is the ADDIE model. The validation of the development product is done by the validator of media experts and chemical material experts, while the trial is conducted by 29 students of class XI IPA 2. The analysis results of the validator state that the quality of the learning media belongs to a very good category with a percentage of 92.78% of the media expert and 83.34% of the material experts. Students ' learning interest percentage of 72.12% is in good category. Learning Media developed in the form of websites integrated with the evaluation of CBT (computer bassed test). The development of learning media contains material in the form of power point slides, learning videos, training of CBT exercises, student presences and student profiles whose functions for students to see the results of training and evaluation. Abstract

Student learning outcomes are still low. Students have an average score below KKM. KKM is determined by each school. KKM in SMAN 9 Semarang is 70. The low value of KKM is caused by students not yet mastering the prerequisite material acid-base. Based on these data student?s misconception need to be analyzed. This study aims to analyze the misconception of buffer material on students. The type of  this research is mixed method. The research design used was a sequential explanatory. The research procedure is following the mixed method syntax. The sample in this study were 128 students from SMAN 9 Semarang. Quantitative data were collected using 10 three-tier multiple choice test questions that used the student?s reasons and level of confidence. The validation results of the test questions are valid and reliable. Qualitative data was collected by interviewing students. The results showed that students have scientific knowledge 16%, type 1 misconception 19%, type 2 misconception 22%, type 3 misconception 37%, lucky 1%, lack of knowledge type 1 1% concept, lack of knowledge type 2 1% concept, and lack of knowledge type 3 3%.

Abstract

The 21st Century demands that every human being be able to solve the problems faced by thinking creatively and critically and be able to use information and communication technology wisely. The business world and industry needs workers who have the ability of the 21st century so that market needs can be met. Vocational Schools are educational institutions that are expected to produce graduates who are ready to work and can compete in the business world and the industry. Supposedly, the implementation of learning in SMK is oriented to the reality of future work needs. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods and aims to analyze the findings related to the level of critical thinking skills of vocational students, especially automotive engineering expertise programs, the factors that influence, and the steps that can be taken to improve students' critical thinking skills. The results showed that as much as 58.34% had a level of critical thinking skills that were lacking, even 5.56% of them were classified as very less. Some previous research states that the factors that influence critical thinking skills of vocational students are classified as low, namely student input, quality of learning, and support in learning. Actions that can be taken to improve students' critical thinking skills include improving teaching methods or models, familiarizing students with questions that demand critical thinking, and using teaching materials that support critical thinking skills.
