Abstract

This study was conducted to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart irrigation system in mustard cultivation to improve water and energy efficiency and horticultural crop yields. The developed system combines soil moisture and temperature sensors connected to a microcontroller and an Android application to facilitate automatic and real-time irrigation monitoring and control. Trials were conducted on a 10 m × 4 m plot divided into 8 soil plots, using 80 sprayers and 32 drip irrigation points. The system is equipped with a 175-watt water pump with a flow rate of 70 liters per minute, which ensures even water distribution with a working pressure between 1.5 and 3.0 bar. The results of the study show that the use of an IoT-based irrigation system can increase water efficiency by up to 40% compared to manual methods and improve the growth parameters of mustard plants: plant height increased by 36.6%, the number of leaves increased by 42.7%, leaf width increased by 44.0%, and fresh weight increased by 48.1%. This system also reduces farmers' workload as watering is managed remotely via an application. Energy efficiency is achieved with an average consumption of 4.2 kWh per day (87% of the pump capacity), and the system demonstrates a high level of reliability with 97.2% availability during the testing period. The results of this study indicate that the application of IoT in precision irrigation systems not only improves resource use efficiency but also strengthens the development of sustainable and digital-based smart agriculture. This system has the potential to be applied to various other horticultural commodities to support increased productivity and efficiency in modern agriculture in Indonesia.

Abstract

Computer technology is currently advancing rapidly. Almost every sector of work relies on computer technology for data processing, including in the field of education, particularly in counseling services. Based on monitoring and direct interactions with teaching staff at SMK Negeri 3 Palu, it is revealed that there is currently no system available that can manage student violation incident data optimally. Instead, the process still relies on manual recording, where teachers record student violations and then submit them to the Counseling Unit (BK). Manual information management is vulnerable to the risk of data loss and information overlap. To address this situation, this research intends to develop a Web-Based Student Violation Counseling Information System with a Point System at SMK Negeri 3 Palu, focusing on improving efficiency and transparency in the point allocation process. In this study, the approach applied is the Waterfall model. With the adoption of this system, the identification of the most frequently occurring student violations becomes more detailed.

Abstract

The development of social media and the increasing accessibility of digital information have transformed consumer purchasing decision patterns, particularly among Generation Z. This study aimed to analyze the effect of social media usage and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) on online purchase decisions for iPhone products, with trust as a mediating variable among Generation Z in Semarang City. The research employed a quantitative approach with an accidental sampling technique involving 100 Generation Z respondents who use iPhones. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method with the assistance of SmartPLS 3.0. The results showed that social media usage and e-WOM have a positive and significant effect on trust and purchase decisions, while trust also has a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions. Further findings indicate that trust functions as a significant mediating variable in the relationship between social media usage and e-WOM and online purchase decisions. In conclusion, consumer trust is a key factor that strengthens the influence of social media and online reviews on online purchase decisions for iPhone products among Generation Z. The implications of this study provide a basis for companies to design digital marketing strategies that focus on enhancing information credibility and reinforcing consumer trust, particularly in the Generation Z segment.
