Abstract

Blended learning research has been developed recently. Still, research has yet to examine the rationale for emerging trends and issues regarding TPACK and Blended Learning in terms of educational philosophy. This article focuses on analyzing blended learning based on TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) from the perspective of the philosophy of progressivism. The educational philosophy of progressivism requires making progress consistently and applying it comprehensively, constructively, and innovatively. In progressivism philosophy, every human being also needs a change to be invariably developed and get improvement. The research method used is qualitative. This research uses library research to explore relevant concepts using various writings on blended learning and TPACK and then analyzed using the progressivism theory. This article explores the results of a literature review on blended learning, TPACK, and progressivism philosophy. A few books and articles published from 2006 to 2021 were searched using Harzing's Publish and Perish through Scopus, Google Books, and Google Scholar databases. The systematic review followed the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. The literature review includes 44 articles and books on blended learning, TPACK, and progressivism philosophy. In this context, a conclusion can be drawn where TPACK-based Blended Learning is an innovation in education following the needs and developments of the times, which is the implementation of the philosophy of progressivism. TPACK-based blended learning results from the philosophy of progressivism, which considers education to be moving in the direction of the times. The philosophy of progressivism requires a fundamental change in the implementation of education towards a better, quality, and real benefit for students.

Abstract

There are several ways to purify sea water to make it suitable for use, one of which is:is through a purification process by utilizing solar energy. Apart from being cheap, this energy is also renewable and highly available abundant in tropical areas. Solar energy is an important component for Human survival because human life activities are very dependent on energy availability. This research examines solar panel-based sea water purification devices as a physics learning medium in secondary schools. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this research analyzes various studies on the development of sea water purification equipment that utilizes solar panels. This study highlights relevant physical material such as thermodynamics and renewable energy, which is used as a basis for developing sea water purification devices using solar panels. In addition, this research identifies variations in the tools and materials used in the desalination process, as well as the application of these tools in the context of physics learning.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to see differences in student learning performance in online learning based on gender and field of science. Methodology: The sample in this study was 488 students in Indonesia. Collection of learning performance data from student GPA. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and non-parametric inferential with Mann- Whitney U with SPSS 20 for windows. The Mann-Whitney U test was carried out to see differences in student learning performance based on gender and field of science. Results: The results of data analysis with the Mann-Whitney U test obtained the value of sig (0.0) <0.05 Ha1 is accepted so that it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in learning performance during the covid-19 pandemic based on the field of science. Furthermore, for differences in learning performance based on gender, the value of sig (0.039) <0.05, Ha2 is accepted so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in learning performance during the covid-19 pandemic based on gender.

Abstract

The development of science and technology has had a significant impact on the world of education, including the development of teaching materials. One innovation that can be utilized is the electronic module (E-Module) which is more practical and interactive than conventional teaching materials. This study aims to determine the validity of the Discovery Learning-based E-Module on hydrocarbon material for grade XI of senior high school (SMA/MA) and equivalent. The study uses a 4-D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) and is limited to the Develop stage. The instruments used include material and media validation sheets, each of which refers to aspects of content feasibility, Discovery Learning characteristics, language, presentation, appearance, and software utilization. The E-Module was developed using the Heyzine Flipbook platform to create an interesting and non-monotonous learning experience. The research sample used in this study was grade XI IPA in two schools, namely SMAN 1 Bangkinang Kota and SMAN 2 Bangkinang Kota. The results showed that the developed E-Module met the validity criteria with an average material validation score of 96.77% and media validation of 98.38%. Thus, the Discovery Learning-based E-Module on hydrocarbon material is declared very valid and suitable for use in the learning process
