Abstract

The sun emits ultraviolet radiation and can produce free radicals. If these free radicals continue to come into contact with the skin excessively, they can damage cells and eventually cause cancer. Sun Protection Factor (SPF) is a substance that protects the skin from ultraviolet rays. The capacity of a product to shield the skin is indicated by its SPF rating. Soap is a type of formulation that individuals frequently utilize. Red betel leaf extract can protect the skin from the harmful effects of free radicals and is expected to increase the soap's ability to protect the skin from exposure to sunlight and maintain skin health. The methods include making transparent soap, testing physical quality, and determining the sun protection coefficient at various red betel leaf ethanol extract concentrations. The result is a transparent black-green soap with a pH of 9, a foam height of 57-65 mm, and a water content of <15%. At a concentration of ethanol extract of 0%, the SPF value is 3, and the SPF values are 7.5 (10%), 12.28 (30 and 50%), 18.2 (70%), and 25 (90%). From this information, it can be inferred that clear soap created with red betel leaf extract possesses excellent physical attributes and effectively protects against sun exposure.

Abstract

Cucumber has the potential to be developed because it has high economic value and promising market opportunities. The main obstacle in increasing cucumber plant production is the physical and chemical conditions of the soil. The addition of nutrients can be done using organic fertilizers. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the concentration of wovi liquid fertilizer and goat manure on the yield of Monas variety cucumber plants. This research was conducted in Kotasan Village, Hamlet V-VI B, Galang District, Deli Serdang Regency, with an altitude of 12 meters above sea level. This research was conducted from March to July 2024. This study used a factorial randomized block design consisting of two factors, namely: Factor 1, wovi liquid fertilizer (W) consists of 5 levels, namely: W0 = control, W1 = Dose of liquid fertilizer 5 ml / liter, W2 = Dose of liquid fertilizer 10 ml / liter, W3 = Dose of liquid fertilizer 15 ml / liter, W4 = Dose of liquid fertilizer 20 ml / liter. The second factor of goat manure (O) consists of 2 levels, namely O1 = Dosage of goat manure 10 tons/ha and O2 = Dosage of goat manure 20 tons/ha. The results of the study showed that the use of goat manure and Wovi fertilizer had no significant effect on the number of fruits, fruit length and fruit weight.

Abstract

The low production of white mustard greens in Indonesia is due to the lack of organic matter content in the soil needed by plants. The addition of optimal organic matter, one of which is the utilization of bioconversion technology of organic waste of black soldier fly larvae. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of kasgotchar and NPK applications on the production of white mustard greens (Brassica pekinensis L.) variety Masita140. This study used a Factorial Randomized Block Design with 2 factors: Factor l, namely the provision of Biochar kasgot fertilizer (K) with 3 levels, namely: K0 = Control (0 kg / plot), K1 = 10 tons / ha (1 kg / plot), K2 = 20 tons / ha (2 kg / plot). Factor 2, namely the provision of NPK fertilizer 16: 16: 16 (P) with 4 levels, namely: N0 = Control (0 kg / plot), N1 = 100 kg / ha (0.01 kg / plot), N2 = 200 kg / ha (0.02 kg / plot), N3 = 300 kg / ha (0.03 kg / plot). The parameters observed in this study include Fresh Weight per crop, fresh weight per plot and production per hectare (tons). The results of the study showed that the use of kasgotchar and NPK fertilizers did not differ significantly on Fresh Weight per crop, fresh weight per plot and fresh weight per hectare. The best treatment was the K2N3 treatment (kasgotchar with a dose of 2 tons / ha, and NPK with a dose of 300 kg / ha

Abstract

Sawi huma, atau yang dikenal dengan sebutan pakcoy (Brassica rapa L), adalah salah satu jenis sayuran daun yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi. Tanaman ini mampu tumbuh baik di dataran tinggi maupun dataran rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian Nutrisi AB Mix, pengaruh pemberian POC Eco Enzyme, dan pengaruh interaksi pemberian Nutrisi AB Mix dengan POC Eco Enzyme terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil sawi pakcoy (brassica rapa L.) sistem hidroponik wick. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Green house Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Al Washliyah Medan, Kota Medan, Kec. Medan Amplas, Sumatera Utara pada bulan April sampai Mei 2024. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah model Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 faktor. Faktor pertama pemberian nutrisi AB Mix (M) dengan 3 taraf, M0 : kontrol, M1 : 5 ml/L, dan M2 : 10 ml/L. Faktor kedua pemberian POC Eco Enzyme (E) dengan 4 taraf, yaitu; E0 : kontrol, E1 : 5 ml/L, E2 : 10 ml/L, dan E3 : 15 ml/L. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan 3 Ulangan. Parameter yang diamati ialah tinggi tanaman (cm), jumlah daun (helai), luas daun (cm2), diameter batang (mm), volume akar (cm3), dan berat bobot segar sawi pakcoy (gram). Hasil pemberian nutrisi AB Mix terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil sawi pakcoy berbeda nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, diameter batang, volume akar, dan berat bobot segar sawi pakcoy. Hasil pemberian POC Eco Enzyme (E) berbeda nyata pada pengamatan jumlah daun, luas daun, volume akar, dan berat bobot segar. Namun, pada pengamatan tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang tidak berbeda nyata. Perlakuan terbaik pada perlakuan E0 (kontrol). Hasil pengaruh interaksi pemberian nutrisi AB Mix (M) dengan POC Eco Enzyme (E) berbeda nyata terhadap jumlah daun, luas daun, volume akar, dan berat bobot segar. Namun, pada pengamatan tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang tidak berbeda nyata. Perlakuan terbaik pada perlakuan M2E1 (nutrisi AB Mix 10 ml/L dengan POC Eco Enzyme 5 ml/L)

Abstract

The objective of the study was to determine the influences of biochar amendments and Azolla sp application on soil chemical value, lead (Pb) content,  and growth of paddy. The research was conducted in Growth Centre LLDIKTI I, Medan, Sumatera Utara, Indonesia, from April to July 2014. The research design used a factorial randomized block design with three replications. The first factor was Azolla sp application: without Azolla (A0); Azolla pinnata (A1); Azolla mikropilla (A2)] and the second factor was biochar amendment without biochar (B0); RSB-Rice straw biochar (B1),  RHB-Rice husk biochar (B2), CPB-coconut peat biochar (B3), OPB-Oil Palm Empty Bunch biochar (B4)]. The result showed that the biochar amendment treatments had significant differences (P<0.05) in all soil chemical values and growth parameters of paddy. The Azolla application showed significant differences (P<0.05) in plant height, number of tillers, shoot dry weight, root dry weight, and Pb content in the root. The interaction among the Azolla sp and the biochar amendments showed significant differences (P<0.05) in a number of the tillers. It was concluded that the application of rice husk biochar and Azolla microphylla was able to increase soil chemical properties, increase the growth of paddy, and also increase the Pb content in soil, leaves, and roots.

Abstract

Hilirisasi riset adalah proses mengubah pengetahuan dan temuan hasil penelitian menjadi produk/layanan yang bernilai tambah, mencakup pengembangan teknologi, transfer teknologi, produksi, dan penjualan produk-produk inovatif berdasarkan hasil penelitian, pendirian usaha berbasis riset. Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) Universitas Al Washliyah (UNIVA) Medan termasuk klaster Pratama.  Riset sains berasal dari penelitian dosen UNIVA fakultas teknik dan pertanian, melalui hibah pendanaan yaitu hibah dosen pemula, strategis nasional, penelitian terapan, penelitian dasar, riset dan inovasi untuk Indonesia maju, dan telah didiseminasi berupa publikasi di jurnal nasional/internasional. Mitra sasaran yaitu Kelompok tani Sri Muliya beralamat di Dusun I Desa Lestari Dadi Kecamatan Pegajahan Kabupaten Sergai, ketua Marjuki, anggota 57 orang, luas lahan 50 Ha, dan tanaman utama padi dan menanam semangka pada musim bera setelah panen padi. Selain bertani, anggota juga ada peternak sapi dan kambing. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi, pendampingan, evaluasi dan keberlanjutan program terkait  kegiatan pretest dan post test, kegiatan penyuluhan, pelatihan dan pendampingan tentang Biokonversi limbah kotoran sapi dengan larva maggot, Inovasi pakan ternak berbasis Maggot dan jerami Padi, Sistem Integrasi Tanaman-Ternak, Penerapan teknologi Biopestisida berbasis agen hayati Corynebacterium untuk penyakit hawar daun, Ecoenzym dari limbah organik dan Budidaya padi ramah lingkungan untuk mencegah penyakit hawar daun. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat meningkatkan  wawasan dan pengetahuan kelompok tani SRI Muliya Desa Lestari Dadi dan pemberian mesin cacah serbaguna dapat dimanfaatkan untuk generating income nantinya.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of using NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer dosage on the growth and yield of white mustard (Brassica Pekinensis) ITTO variety to determine the effect of using organic kasgot biochar fertilizer on the growth and yield of white mustard (Brassica Pekinensis) ITTO variety  of white mustard (Brassica Pekinensis) ITTO variety to determine the interaction between the treatment of 16:16:16 fertilizer dosage and organic kasgot biochar fertilizer on the growth and yield of white mustard (Brassica Pekinensis) ITTO variety.This study was conducted in the land of UPT BIH (Horticulture Parent Seed Task Force Unit) Kutagadung, Berastagi District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra. The study was conducted in November 2023 - December 2023. This study used a factorial randomized block design consisting of two factors, namely: Factor I. Provision of Kasgot Biochar Fertilizer (K) with 4 levels, namely: K0 = Control, K1 = 1 kg / plot, K2 = 2 Kg / plot. Factor II. Application of NPK Fertilizer 16:16:16 (P) with 4 levels, namely N0 = Control N1 = 10 grams/plot, N2 = 20 grams/plot, N3 = 30 grams/plot The results of the study showed that the Use of Kasgot Biochar Fertilizer (K) was significantly different from plant height, plant diameter, leaf width, fresh weight per crop of sample plants, fresh weight of plants per plot and production per hectare. The best treatment was the K2 treatment (2 kg/plot). The use of NPK Fertilizer (N) was significantly different from plant height, plant diameter, leaf width, fresh weight per crop of sample plants, fresh weight of plants per plot and production per hectare. The best treatment of N-P-K 16-16-16 fertilizer was the N3 treatment (30 grams/plot), and the Interaction of the use of Kasgot Biochar Fertilizer (K) and NPK Fertilizer (N) was not significantly different from plant height, plant diameter, leaf width, fresh weight per crop of sample plants, fresh weight of plants per plot and production per hectare.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the germination capacity of red chili peppers in various types and concentrations of Kasgotchar extract using a paper-based test method. This study used a 6 x 3 x 2 Factorial RAK design. The type of Kasgotchar extract is the first factor, with six types (K1 = Kasgotchar 1, K2 = Kasgotchar 2, K3 = Kasgotchar 3, K4 = Kasgotchar 4, K5 = Kasgotchar 5, K6 = Kasgotchar 6), and the second factor is the concentration of Kasgotchar extract, with three concentration levels (E1 = 5% Kasgotchar extract, E2 = 10% Kasgotchar extract, E3 = 15% Kasgotchar extract). The parameters observed in this germination process were the germination index and the germination potential, measured at seven and fourteen days after sowing. The results of study showed that the treatment with Kasgotchar extract type only significantly affected the germination index at seven and fourteen days after sowing, as well as the potential for germination at seven days. The Kasgotchar extract concentration treatment did not show any significant effect on the germination index and potential at all observation ages. Meanwhile, the interaction between the type of Kasgotchar extract and the concentration of Kasgotchar extract only had a significant effect on the germination potential at fourteen days of seedling age. The highest germination index and the germination potential were obtained by the treatment of Kasgotchar extract type 6 (2.39 and 0.88), the treatment with 5 % concentration of Kasgotchar extract (1.54 and 0.76), and the interaction treatment between Kasgotchar type 6 with 5% concentration of Kasgotchar extract (2.44 and 0.90).  Keywords: red chili, germination index, germination potential, kasgotchar, BSF

Abstract

Efforts to increase the growth and yield of peas by providing foliar fertilizer or chicken manure. If the dose, type, time, and method of fertilization are correct, the plant's response to fertilizer application can increase growth and yield. This study aims to determine the effect of plant growth on the provision of Mamigro concentration and chicken manure on pea plants. This study used a Randomized Block Design consisting of two factors and repeated three times. Factor I is the concentration of Mamigro (M), consisting of 3 levels, namely M0 (Control), M1 (2 g / L), M2 (4 g / L). Factor II is chicken manure (P) consisting of 3 levels, namely, P0 (Control), P1 (1 kg / plot), P2 (2 kg / plot). The observation parameters are plant length, number of leaves, flowering days. The provision of Mamigro concentration has a significant effect on the parameter of flowering days. The best growth was found in the M2 treatment (Mamigro concentration 4 g / L). The provision of chicken manure has a significant effect on the parameters of plant length, number of leaves. The best growth was found in treatment P2 (chicken manure 20 tons/ha). The best combination was found in treatment M1P1 (Mamigro concentration 2 g/L and chicken manure 10 tons/ha)

Abstract

Tanaman Tomat merupakan tanaman dengan sistem perakaran tunggang yang tumbuh menembus tanah, berbau yang khas dan akarnya berwarna putih keputihan. Perakaran tomat tidak terlalu dalam tetapi memiliki kedalaman sekitar 30-40 cm. Biji tomat memiliki ukuran kecil, dengan lebar 2-4 mm dan panjang biji tomat sekitar 3-5 mm. Setiap gram berisi antara 200-500 biji tergantung varietasnya. Tanaman tomat dapat ditanam pada segala jenis tanah, mulai dari tanah pasir yang memiliki ukuran 0,05- 2,0 mm. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Best Bsf Magot Medan, Jl. Perumahan Tanjung Meriam, Kuala Smeme, Kec. Namorambe, Kab. Deli Serdang, Sumatra Utara dengan ketinggian 200mdpl. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 faktor, yaitu Faktor 1, yakni jenis kasgotchar K1 (Kasgotchar B1M1), K2 (Kasgotchar B1M2), K3 (Kasgotchar B2M1), K4 (Kasgotchar B2M2), K5 (Kasgotchar B3M1), K6 (Kasgotchar B3M2) serta faktor 2 yakni dosis, berupa D1 (10% Kasgotchar + Media Tanam), D2 (30% Kasgotchar + Media Tanam), D3 (50% Kasgotchar + Media Tanam). Berdasarkan kedua faktor tersebut, diperoleh kombinasi perlakuan sebanyak 18 kombinasi dengan 2 ulangan, jumlah Seedtray penelitian sebanyak 18, ukuran seedtray 270x140mm, lubang tanaman sebanyak 25 lubang, jumlah sampel sebanyak 25 sampel serta keseluruhan tanam sebanyak 25 tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian jenis kasgotchar (K) tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap beberapa parameter antara lain presentasi perkecambahan 14 HST, indeks vigor benih, koefisen perkecambahan, Panjang tajuk, bobot akar, dan rasio tajuk. Namun berpengaruh nyata pada parameter presentasi perkecambahan 7 HST, Panjang akar, dan bobot tajuk. Dengan perlakuan terbaiknya yaitu K5 (B3M1). Pemberian dosis pupuk kasgotchar (D) tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap perkecambahan 14 HST, presentasi perkecambahan 7 HST indeks vigor benih, koefisen perkecambahan, Panjang tajuk, bobot akar, Panjang akar, dan rasio tajuk parameter amatan. Namun berpengaruh nyata pada parameter bobot tajuk. Dengan perlakuan terbaik yaitu .D1 (10 % kasgotchar + media tanam). Serta pemberian dengan interaksi antara jenis pupuk kasgotchar (K) dan dosis pupuk kasgotchar (D) tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter amatan presentasi perkecambahan 14 HST, indeks vigor benih, koefisen perkecambahan, Panjang tajuk, bobot tajuk, bobot akar, rasio tajuk. Berpengaruh nyata terhadap presentasi perkecambahan 7 HST, dengan perlakuan terbaik yaitu K5D3.
