Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of digital comic intagram media on students’ learning interest and science learning achievement of eight graders at SMP Negeri 4 Tarakan. This research was quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research method. Research data collection used pretest-posttest and questionnaires. Purposive sampling was aplplied to take the research sampel, and the sampel was eighth graders. The research result showed thet the experimental class possessed a learning interest mean score of 45% higher rhan the control class, where the control class achieved 58.5%. feeling happy got 89% for experimental and 55% for control. The involment aspect was 30% lower than the experimental with 79%. The interest aspect still was led by experimental at 83%, and control only gained 59%. Paying attention aspect was driven by experimental about 49% where the control was only at 59%. Furthermore, the learning achievement results stated that the experimental class was better than the control class, where the test value was 12,329 at a significance level of 0.05, and df 60 is a ttable value of 2.000. this reserch result claimed that digital comic Instagram media totally influenced the studets’ learning interest and achievement in scince class.

Abstract

Mengukur keefektifan penggunaan model pembelajaran terhadap pemahaman konsep dan keaktivan siswa SMP pada pelajaran IPA. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengukur efektivitas penggunaan model Discovery Learning dipadu Think Pair and Share terhadap pemahaman konsep dan keaktifan siswa SMP pada pelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tahun pembelajaran 2014/2015 di salah satu sekolah SMP negeri yang ada di daerah terluar Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimen semu (quasi-eksperiment). Populasi yang digunakan peneliti adalah seluruh siswa yang berada pada kategori SMP kelas VII. Sampel yang digunakan peneliti sebanyak 60 sampel. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan dokumentasi, tes dan lembar observasi.

Abstract

Kemampuan siswa dalam menguasai dan mempelajari ilmu pengetahuan berkaitan erat dengan perkembangan sains dan teknologi yang saat ini semakin pesat sehingga siswa dituntut agar memiliki kemampuan literasi sains yang baik. Salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran yang memungkinkan untuk digunakan di kelas dalam usaha meningkatkan literasi sains siswa ialah melalui pendekatan SETS (Science, Environment, Technology and Society). Titik pusat pembelajaran sains berwawasan SETS ialah penggabungan antara konsep sains yang dipelajari dan implikasinya terhadap lingkungan, teknologi dan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan pendekatan SETS terhadap literasi sains siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian time series. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Tarakan dan sampel penelitian adalah kelas VII J. Hasil penelitian uji homogenitas dan uji normalitas didapatkan hasil bahwa data homogeny dan normal. Analisis uji T sampel berpasangan diperoleh hasil dengan nilai signifikasi 0,000. Jika sig(2-tailed) 0,05 maka Ha diterima, kesimpulannya bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara pretes dan postes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: 1) Pendekatan SETS berpengaruh dan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara pretes pertama hingga keempat dengan postes pertama hingga keempat, 2) Grafik hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil nilai rata-rata pretes stabil dan konsisten kemudian setelah diberikan perlakuan keadaannya meningkat secara konsisten pula. Kata kunci: Literasi Sains, Pembelajaran IPA, Pendekatan SETS.

Abstract

Ipomoea merupakan salah satu genus dari family Convolvulaceae. Ipomoea umumnya di konsumsi oleh masyarakat karena  memiliki kandungan gizi seperti vitamin A, vitamin C dan unsur mineral seperti zat kapur, zat besi, magnesium, dan fosfor yang dibutuhkan oleh tubuh manusia, Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk megetahui variasi morfologi genus Ipomoea di Kota Tarakan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan November sampai dengan Desember 2019. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan mengunakan metode cruising/jelajah. Hasil dari penelitian yaitu ditemukan 5 lima jenis tumbuhan dari genus Ipomoea di Tarakan. Kelima jenis tersebut yaitu Ubi kates (Ipomoe cairica), Tapak Kuda (Ipomoe pes-caprae (L.), Kangkung Pagar (Ipomoe carnea Jacq), Ubi jalar (Ipomoea batatas L.) dan Kangkung air (Ipomoe aquatica). Bagian morfologi yang paling bervariasi antar satu spesies dengan spesies lain pada genus Ipomoea adalah warna pada bunga serta arah tumbuhnya.Kata kunciVariasi, Morfologi, Genus Ipomoea, Tarakan

Abstract

Kecerdasan emosional merupakan kemampuan siswa dalam mengenali dan mengontrol emosi diri, sehingga berdampak positif pada saat mengikuti pembelajaran. Kecerdasan emosional erat kaitannya dengan keterampilan metakognitif. Keterampilan metakognitif adalah kemampuan siswa untuk mengontrol proses belajarnya, mulai dari tahap perencanaan, memilih strategi yang tepat sesuai masalah yang dihadapi kemudian melihat kemajuan dalam belajar dan mengoreksi jika terjadi kesalahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional terhadap hasil belajar siswa dan menganalisis hubungan antara keterampilan metakognitif terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian survey dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 920 siswa kelas VII seluruh SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Nunukan dan sampel penelitian adalah 242 siswa dengan penentuan sampel menggunakan rumus Nomogram Harry King. Keseluruhan data diperoleh berdasarkan skor dari angket kecerdasan emosional, tes essai keterampilan metakognitif, dan tes pilihan ganda hasil belajar siswa. Kemudian, data dianalisis dengan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional memiliki korelasi terhadap hasil belajar siswa sebesar 0,122 yang berarti kecerdasan emosional tidak memiliki hubungan terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Disamping itu, keterampilan metakognitif memiliki korelasi terhadap hasil belajar siswa sebesar 0,029 yang berarti keterampilan metakognitif memiliki hubungan terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Sumbangan efektif kecerdasan emosional terhadap hasil belajar sebesar 0,9% dan sumbangan relatifnya 34%. Selanjutnya, sumbangan efektif keterampilan metakognitif terhadap hasil belajar sebesar 1,3% dan sumbangan relatifnya 48%. Kata kunci: Kecerdasan emosional, Metakognitif, hasil belajar

Abstract

Pyhsalis angulata merupakan family Solanaceae. Masyarakat umum mengetahui tumbuhan tersebut sebagai obat. Tumbuhan sebagai obat umumnya memproduksi senyawa obat yang disimpan dalam struktur khusus, sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati anatomi P. angulata untuk menemukan struktur khusus yang diduga menyimpan senyawa obat. Pengamatan  anatomi menggunakan mikroskop dan pewarnaan safranin. Berdasarkan pengamatan, jaringan yang dijumpai yaitu jaringan yang paling umum seperti jaringan epidermis, jaringan dasar, jaringan penguat (Kolenkim dan sklerenkim) dan jaringan pengangkut. Struktur khusus berupa trikoma dijumpai di daun. Struktur tersebut diduga memproduksi senyawa sebagai bahan obat.

Abstract

This study sought to ascertain if the problem based learning (PBL) instructional paradigma had an effect on the eighth graders critical thinking abilities at the SMP Negeri 3 Tarakan. This study was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Tarakan during the even semester of the 2021-2022 academic year, This type of research was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Tarakan Purposive sampling was used to choose the research sample, which included 32 students from classes VIII-I and VIII-9. The Wilcoxon Mann-whitney test was used to analyze the data, and when the findings were obtained with a significance value of 0.003, less than 0.05, Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. This shows that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model had an effect on the critical thinking skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Tarakan.

Abstract

Abstract: A crucial part of the entire teaching and learning process is remedial learning. Teachers attempt to assist students in achieving the best possible learning success through remedial programs. The purpose of this study was to examine Remedial Teaching in biology subject at class XI SMA Negeri 1 Sebatik. This study was qualitative and descriptive in nature. Interviews, observations, and documentation were the methods of data collecting used in this study. Data reduction, data display, and conclusion-making were the stages of data analysis. Source triangulation is the method utilized for triangulation to verify the accuracy of the data. One biology teacher from class XI SMA served as the research subject, and purposive sampling was used to select the sample. The study’s findings demonstrated what biology teacher did when organizing remedial teaching: Biology teacher re-evaluated the situation (made a diagnostic) and chose different courses of action and activities that were not carried out, such as offering assistance and counseling. Regarding the application of remedial teaching: Remedial instruction took place in the classroom. It was time for the End of semester examination (UAS) remedial work to be completed. The group work method was the technique employed. The strategy of the restorative approach was curative. Remedial teaching evaluation involved the teacher summarizing the content to reevaluate learning achievement. Students who had received remedial treatment but were still lacking were given a summary-style reevaluation. Biology teacher only carried out re-diagnoses through observing teaching experiences in each learning process.  Keywods: Remedial Teaching, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation

Abstract

Implementing the right learning model can increase the effectiveness of learning. This research aims to 1) Improve student learning outcomes by implementing the Interactive Demonstration learning model in class The type of research carried out was Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a qualitative approach. The data collection instruments used were end-of-cycle tests, questionnaires, learning model implementation sheets, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics. The subjects in this research were 13 students. From the results of the data analysis carried out, the research results showed that student completion in cycle I reached 38.46%. The reason for this is because there are still some students who are less active during the learning process, so improvements need to be made in cycle II. Student learning outcomes in cycle II increased until they reached 100% completeness. Students responded very well to the application of the Interactive Demonstration learning model.

Abstract

Achieving learning objectives requires a strong understanding of the learning approach. One method that can aid in the learning process is the JAS approach, which places a strong emphasis on learning activities that are relevant to everyday life and the environment as a source of knowledge. The aim of this study was to assess how well students in class X of SMAN 3 Balaesang learned through practical activities centred on investigating the surrounding environment. This study employed a quasi-experimental research design using quantitative research methods. Learning outcome assessments and learning motivation questionnaires were used to gather data. 56 participants were selected from two classes XC, which included 29 students as a control group and XD, which included 27 students as an experimental group for this study's sample. The z test was used to determine the classical completeness of the control and experimental classes, and the independent sample t-test was utilized to determine the difference in learning outcomes between the two groups. The study's findings demonstrated that the experimental class utilizing JAS and the control class using the conventional approach had different learning outcomes, with the JAS-using students achieving better learning outcomes than the traditional approach. According to the z-test results, less than 70% of students in the control class using the traditional method obtained the KKM score, whereas more than 70% of students in the experimental class utilizing JAS received a passing mark. Students in the experimental class were more motivated to learn. than those in the control group.
