Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA dengan menerapkan model PAKEM Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Di SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri atas dua siklus. Pada tiap siklus terdiri atas dua kali pertemuan, dengan tahapan pada setiap siklus yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu, lembar observasi aktivitas guru, aktivitas siswa, Tes Hasil Belajar, dan Lembar Kerja siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan model pembelajaran PAKEM dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas VII Di SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. Pada siklus I 50% dan siklus II mengalami peningkatan yaitu 79%. Nilai siswa secara klasikal yang diperoleh tersebut telah mencapai indikator ketuntasan yaitu 75%. Hasil pengamatan aktivitas guru mengajar siklus I dengan skor 71% dengan kategori baik, siklus II dengan skor 74% masuk kedalam kategori baik dan hasil aktivitas siswa siklus I memperoleh persentase 64% untuk pertemuan 1 dengan kategori cukup dan pada pertemuan kedua memperoleh persentase 76% dengan kategori baik, siklus II pada pertemuan I memperoleh persentase 80% dan pertemuan kedua memperoleh persentase 84% masuk dalam berkategori sangat baik.Kata Kunci : Model Pembelajaran PAKEM, Hasil Belajar IPA  This study aims to improve science learning outcomes by applying the PAKEM model to improve learning outcomes at SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings, with stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The instruments used in this study are teacher activity observation sheets, student activities, learning outcomes tests, and student worksheets. The results showed that the PAKEM learning model could improve science learning outcomes for seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. In the first cycle, 50% and the second cycle increased by 79%. The classical student scores obtained have reached the completeness indicator, namely 75%. The results of observations of teacher teaching activities in cycle I with a score of 71% with a good category, cycle II with a score of 74% fall into the good category and the results of student activity in cycle I get a percentage of 64% for meeting 1 with a good category and at the second meeting a percentage of 76% with good category, cycle II at the first meeting obtained a percentage of 80% and the second meeting obtained a percentage of 84% included in the very good category.Keywords: PAKEM Learning Model, Science learning outcomes

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dosis ragi paling ideal dalam pembuatan tape ketan hitam dan mengembangan panduan praktikum berdasarkan hasil penelitian. Penelitian menggunakan model pengembangan Borg Gall dengan mengadaptasi sampai pada tahap ketiga. Hasil yang didapat menyatakan bahwa dosis ragi 2gr merupakan dosis paling optimal berdasarkan kadar glokusa dan pH. Hasil validasi ahli materi dan media pada panduan praktikum yang dikembangkan menunjukan hasil yang valid.Kata Kunci:  Panduan Praktikum, Tape, Glukosa, pH

Abstract

Abstract:  This study aims to determine the effectiveness of combining leaf extract of Ageratum conyzoides L and Syzigium polyianthum against Aedes aegypti larvae. This study also wants to analyze the magazine's quality based on research in terms of feasibility based on expert judgment and attractiveness based on students' responses. The research method used Borg Gall's (1983) model. The research results of  leaf extract of A. conyzoides and S. polyianthum against Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae effectively eradicate A. aegypti mosquito larvae because the increasing concentration increases the number of deaths of A. aegypti larvae. Meanwhile, the results of the validation test of science magazine products by media expert validators with a percentage of 75.5% (feasible), validation tests of science magazine products by material expert validators 75.45% (feasible), validation tests of science magazine products by practitioners of 95.5% (very feasible) and the results of student response tests of 94.62% (very interesting). The results showed that the science magazine developed was very feasible and very interesting to use in learning. Keywords: Ageratum conyzoides L, Syzigium polyianthum, Aedes aegypti

Abstract

Abstract This research aimed to analyze the relationship of learning independence and laerning motivation with laerning achievement of Grade XI cross-major biology students at SMA Hang Tuah Tarakan. The study was correlation research using a descriptive correlational method with quantitative approach. The research population was 58 students with the samples collected using a total sampling technique. All data were obtained based on the questionnaire score on learning independence, learning motivation, and learning achievement from biology mid-semester test, and the analyzed using Multiple Linear Test of figure out the relationship of learning independence and learning motivation (X) with biology learning achievement (Y). The research result show that there is a relationship of learning independence and learning motivation with biology laerning achievement with the significance value of 0.0009 0.005. There was a relationship between learning independence and biology learning achievement with the significance value of 0.0042; and there was a relationship between learning motivation and biology achievement with the significance value of 0.020 0.005.Keywords: Independence, Motivation, Biology learning achievement

Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by the low achievement of scientific literacy in Indonesia in the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) study participation held every three years by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This study aims to determine the scientific literacy ability of Class VIII Junior High School students in Tarakan City, which was taken using the Purposive Sampling technique. The data was taken using a test method in the form of a description question. The test given was adopted from the PISA questions published by the National Assessment Program (NAP) published in 2009 and translated into Indonesian. The results showed that the Science Literacy Ability of Class VIII Junior High School Students in Tarakan City was categorized as less with a percentage of 44.04%. At each level, students can only answer questions with levels 1 and 2, while for questions with levels 3 and 4, they are still very lacking. So it was concluded that the scientific literacy skills of class VIII junior high school students in Tarakan City were still lacking. Keywords: scientific literacy, student, PISA

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analys the quality of monopoly based on Game Hago. The Hago Game-based monopoly on virus material for class X SMA is very feasible as a learning medium with the percentage of material experts being 84% (very feasible), media experts being 96% (very feasible). Game-based monopoly Hago gets a response from expert practitioners who are teachers of Biology subjects at the Hang Tuah Tarakan High School of 94% (very feasible) and student responses using Hago Game-based Monopoly learning media are 92% (very good). Keywords:  Monopoly based on Hago Game, Quality

Abstract

A teacher must be able to create conducive atmosphere of learning, innovative and creative by sticking to a student-oriented approach. This can be realized through various ways, one of them is learning by applying various suitable learning models and supporting learning media. This study aimed to improve science achievement of the VIII grade students at SMPN 3 Nunukan Selatan by applying the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model assisted by audio-visual media. This was a Classroom Action Research which consisted of two cycles. Each cycle consisted of two meetings followed by stages of planning, action,observation and reflection. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets of teacher activities and student activities, assessment sheets (aspects of attitude and skills), test results and student worksheets (aspects of knowledge). The results showed that the NHT assisted by audio-visual media improved science achievement of the VIII grade students at SMPN 3 Nunukan Selatan. Classically, there was an increase in the learner achievement from the first cycle to the second cycle in all three aspects measured. For the aspect of knowledge there was an increase from 50% in the first cycle to 79% in the second cycle. For the aspect of attitude there was an increase from 64% in the first cycle to 96% in the second cycle. For the aspect of skills there was an increase from 61% in the first cycle 86% in the second cycle. Thestudents’ scores reached the completeness indicator (75%). In addition, the observations result of teacher teaching activities in the first cycle was 82 (very good category) and the second cycle was 86(very good category).The observation result of student activities in the first cycle was 70% (good category) and in the second cycle was 93% (very good category).Keywords:  Numbered Head Together, Audio Visual Media, Learning Outcome

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the understanding of biology teacher candidates at the University of Borneo Tarakan regarding the nature of science. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The instruments used were test questions and questionnaire sheets. The results of the research on understanding the nature of science for 121 biology teacher candidates at the University of Borneo Tarakan showed that the understanding of the nature of science for biology teacher candidates was categorized as good. The highest score for understanding the nature of science by prospective teachers on the aspect of creativity is 78, while the lowest score for understanding the nature of science by prospective teachers on the aspects of tentative and socio-cultural embeddednes is 65. Keywords:  nature of science, biology teacher candidates

Abstract

This research was intended to measure the relationship between students’ interest in Biology subject to students’ learning outcomes at class X cross-interest students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Tarakan. The design of the research was a survey with descriptive correlational quantitative data. This research population was 184 students of class X, cross-interest students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Tarakan, and the research sample was 70 students. The sample was determined using the nonprobability sampling technique from purposive sampling. Overall data were obtained based on scores from students’ interest questionnaires and multiple choice questions, then analyzed by Pearson Product Moment Correlation Test and Linear Regression Test. There was no relationship between students’ interest in Biology learning outcomes with a significance value of 0.407. Keywords:  Interest, Cross-Interests, Biology Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries that has a diversity of plants scattered in various tropical forests such as nursery forests and luntoh rice fields. Kroton (Codiaeum variegatum) and Patikan kebo (Euphorbia hirta L) are plant species belonging to the Euphorbiaceae family that are found in nursery forests and luntoh rice fields. The tests used in this study were histochemical tests with 5% CuSO4 reagents and glycerin, and ethanol extraction tests with concentrated HCl and concentrated H2SO4 reagents. This test is used to identify terpenoid compounds in root, stem, and leaf organs. The results of the study showed that from two plant species of the Euphorbiaceae family, there were organs containing terpenoid compounds which were scattered in various organs of roots, stems, and leaves. In the Croton plant species (Codiaeum variegatum), the organs containing terpenoid compounds are in the roots and leaves. In the Patikan kebo plant species (Euphorbia hirta L), the part of the organ containing terpenoid compounds is in the leaf. In this study, the potential for implementing learning in the form of lesson plans, practicum guides, and teaching materials. Keywords: Euphorbiaceae, Potential Application of  Biology Learning, Histochemical  Test, Ethanol Extraction Test.
