Abstract

This study aims to determine errors and factors that cause students to make mistakes in solving word problems on quadratic equations based on the Newman procedure. The type of research used is descriptive research. Data collection techniques used were written tests, interviews and documentation. The research subjects were 20 students of class IXA at SMP Kristen Tomohon. The results showed that in solving word problems on the quadratic equation material given by the students they still made mistakes based on the Newman procedure. Factors causing students to make mistakes, namely: misreading the numbers in the problem, confused with the formula that students will use in a hurry to solve the problem so they don't write down the final answer. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested to mathematics teachers to provide story questions to students by applying Newman's procedure so that the answers given are more structured.

Abstract

This research is a development research which aims to produce learning tools on the subject of Cubes and Blocks in class VII SMP with a realistic mathematics approach. The procedure used in this study refers to the Thiagarajan learning device development model (4-D Model) which is modified to 3-D. This research was conducted with limited trials so it needs to be developed to measure validity, effectiveness and practicality. The results of this research show that the learning tools include LKPD, THB and RPP according to valid criteria, so they can be used in learning outcomes tests, namely; 40.7% with a standard deviation of 11.64% from the ideal score of 100, with 32 students, student and teacher activities tend to be positive, student responses to learning tools tend to be positive, active and creative. From the results of the research above, it can be concluded that by using Comparative Learning Materials Based on a Realistic Mathematics Approach for class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano, students' readiness and understanding in the learning process can develop well.

Abstract

This study examined the average student mathematics learning outcomes when the Blended Learning Model was applied to learning integer material. The study design used was: Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population in this study was all of class VII at SMP Negeri 6 Tondano. In contrast, the samples in this study were class VII B, with 21 students as the experimental class and class VII A as the control class with 21 students. This study's analysis showed that the experimental class's average posttest score was 84,76, while the average posttest score for the control class was 74,28. The study results were analyzed using the T-test statistic at s significant level of 0,05, namely Tcount = 3,636 > Ttable = 1,725, so that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. The Blended Learning Model can improve student learning outcomes based on these results.

Abstract

Abstract The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of incorporating actual mathematics learning on student academic achievement in the domain of whole numbers. The present study employs a Posttest-Only Control Group Design for the purpose of conducting research. The participants of this study consist of two groups: class VII A, which serves as the experimental group and comprises 22 students, and class VII B, which serves as the control group and consists of 22 students. These groups were selected from SMP Negeri 6 Langowan during the 2022 academic year. The data collected were derived from the posttest outcomes in both the experimental and control groups. The experimental group exhibited an average learning outcome of 77.3, whereas the control group demonstrated an average learning outcome of 51.4. The normality test for the data is satisfied when the data follows a normal distribution. The data analysis yielded results with a significance level of 0.05, where the calculated t-value (tcount) was 7.1039, which is greater than the critical t-value (ttable) of 1.6819. The findings of this study indicate that students who employ a realistic mathematical approach to integer material exhibit superior learning outcomes compared to those who utilize standard learning methods.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the differences in the average learning outcomes of students taught using the Problem Posing learning model on flat-sided geometric material at Woloan Christian Middle School. This research used the experimental method on class VIII students at Woloan Christian Middle School. The samples in the study were class VIII-A as an experimental class with a total of 31 students and class VIII-B as a control class with a total of 31 students, a total of 62 students at Woloan Christian Middle School, even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The instrument used in this research consisted of a learning outcomes test in the form of a written test in the form of an essay with flat-sided geometric material. The technique for collecting observation and test data is in the form of evaluation questions. The test is carried out twice. Namely, the pretest is carried out at the beginning of the research to determine students' achievement scores before treatment, and the posttest is carried out on both control and experimental groups after treatment. Based on hypothesis testing using SPSS test statistics, where from the calculation results of the Tcount value of 1.822 with Ttable 1.671 (1.822>1.671), it can be said that there is a significant difference in the average learning outcomes of the experimental group using Problem posing and the control group using the learning model. Direct Instruction, which means that there is an influence of the application of the Problem posing learning model on the average learning outcomes of class VIII students at Woloan Christian Middle School

Abstract

This research examined the average student mathematics learning outcomes when the Project Based Learning Model was applied in mathematics learning with Cube material. The research design used was Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population in this study was all class VIII at SMP Negeri 3 Bolaang. In contrast, the samples taken in this study were class VIII B, with 20 students as the experimental class and class VII A as the control class, with a total of 20 students. The analysis results from this research show that the average posttest score for the experimental class is 82.75, while the average posttest score for the control class is 73.25. The research results obtained were based on hypothesis testing using the T-test with a significance level of 5%. The value obtained was ????ℎ???????????????????? = 4.407 > ???????????????????????? = 1.68595, so reject ????0. So, it can be concluded that based on these results, the Project Based Learning model can improve student learning outcomes

Abstract

Problem-solving abilities are essential for the development of students' mathematical abilities. This ability must be described clearly to contribute to problem-solving and mathematical problem-solving abilities. This research aimed to describe problem-solving abilities in solving algebraic story problems based on Polya's steps: understanding the problem, formulating a plan, implementing the problem, and checking again. The subjects in this research were three students selected from 12 students in class VII-C at SMP Negeri 1 Remboken, consisting of students with high, medium and low abilities based on the mathematical problem-solving ability test results. The data collection techniques used were through written tests, interviews and documentation. The results of the research that has been explained show that problem-solving abilities in solving questions are divided into three categories, namely high, medium and low. Students with high-category abilities can master 4 Polya steps with up to 5 questions. Students with the medium ability category can master 4 Polya steps for questions number 2, 4 and 5, master 3 of the 4 Polya steps, namely steps 1, 2 and 3 for question number 1, and can master 2 of the 4 Polya steps, namely step 1 and 2. Meanwhile, students with low ability categories can master the 4 Polya steps only in question number 1, master 2 of the 4 Polya steps, namely steps 1 and 2 for question number 2, and questions number 3, 4 and 5 for subjects with low ability do not able to do it

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa menggunakan Penerapan Model Discovery Learning berbantuan Geogebra dalam pembelajaran koordinat Cartesius di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Dumoga. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Posttest only control design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII A sebagai kelas Eksperimen yang terdiri dari 23 orang dan kelas VIII B sebagai kelas kontrol yang terdiri dari 21 orang siswa di SMP Negeri 2 Dumoga. Data yang diperoleh adalah hasil dari Posttest pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dengan rata-rata hasil belajar kelas Eksperimen 85,87 dan rata-rata belajar kelas kontrol 76,95. Uji kenormalan data terpenuhi dengan data berdistribusi normal. Hasil analisis data dengan taraf nyata 0,05 diperoleh = 2,6746991746 >  = 2,01808. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan Model Discovery Learning berbantuan Geogebra dalam pembelajaran Koordinat Cartesius lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

Penguasaan materi bilangan di Taman Kanak-Kanak Kelompok A cenderung masih sangat kurang. Anak-anak pada kelompok ini cenderung masih menghafal dan belum memahami konsep dasar bilangan dan konsep dasar berhitung. Hal ini disebabkan oleh proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru masih monoton dan kurang menggunakan variasi media. Anak-anak menjadi kurang termotivasi dalam belajar dan mengakibatkan belum optimalnya hasil belajar anak dalam materi mengenal dan menghitung bilangan 1- 10. Masalah ini juga menjadi salah satu yang sering dihadapi oleh anak kelompok A di TK Amzar Molinow. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam upaya untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar anak dalam mengenal konsep dasar bilangan dan berhitung. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang memiliki dua siklus dengan masing-masing siklus yang terdiri dari empat tahapan. Tahapan tersebut secara berturut-turut adalah perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian dalam studi ini adalah 10 anak di Kelompok A, TK Amzar Molinow.  Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah observasi, tes hasil belajar, dan dokumentasi. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut ditemukan bahwa penggunaan media gambar buah apel dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar anak dalam mengenal konsep bilangan di TK Amzar Molinow. Oleh karena itu, studi ini menyarankan kepada guru TK, dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar anak dapat menggunakan media gambar buah apel sebagai alternatif metode pembelajaran pengenalan bilangan 1-10 di kelas.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan media pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Media pembelajaran adalah aspek penting dalam proses pembelajaran, yang dapat dikembangkan menggunakan aplikasi powtoon. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi powtoon dan menerapkannya di SMP kelas VIII pada materi statistika. Untuk mengetahui kualitas media pembelajaran maka ada tiga aspek yang dinilai yakni kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektivan. Jenis penelitian ini ialah Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation dan Evaluation). Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, angket dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa media pembelajaran valid yang dinilai oleh para pakar dengan aspek kevalidan 88% dari ahli materi, 97% dari ahli media dan 92% dari ahli desain pembelajaran. Media pembelajaran dinyatakan praktis dari uji kelompok kecil dan uji kelompok besar dengan rata-rata kriteria termasuk sangat layak. Media pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi powtoon juga dinyatakan efektif karena persentase ketuntantasan siswa sebesar 82%. Sehingga media pembelajaran valid dan layak untuk digunakan atau diterapkan oleh guru kepada siswa untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mereka terhadap materi.
