Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Anxiety in third-trimester pregnant women is a common psychological issue that occurs as labor approaches. Unmanaged anxiety can negatively impact the labor process and the health of both mother and fetus. One non-pharmacological method that can be used to reduce anxiety is endorphin massage, a massage technique that stimulates the release of endorphins, creating a sense of calm and comfort. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The sample consisted of 40 third-trimester pregnant women selected using total sampling. Anxiety levels were measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) before and after the endorphin massage intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed a p-value of 0.000 (α < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of endorphin massage on reducing anxiety levels in third-trimester pregnant women. It is recommended that future studies combine endorphin massage with other interventions such as aromatherapy, relaxation music, or hypnobirthing.

Abstract

Introduction Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is one of the indicators to determine the quality of maternal health services in Indonesia. Obstetric complications greatly affect MMR, including long first stage of labor. Moxa therapy is a traditional therapy that uses mugwort plants (artemisia vulgaris) to provide warmth to acupuncture points in the body. The goal is to stimulate energy circulation (QI) and blood. Method This study aims to determine the differences before and after intervention related to the duration of labor of inpartu mothers after giving mugwort moxa. This study is a pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest study design conducted on inpartu mothers in the first stage. Results The calculated value obtained from the calculation using the T-test was 0.015, so the calculated t value <0.05 (0.15 <0.05) so it can be said that moxa therapy affects the duration of the first stage of labor. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between mugwort moxa therapy and the duration of labor of inpartu mothers in the first stage of labor at the Malang Regional Health Facility. Mugwort moxa therapy tends to shorten the duration of the first stage of labor.

Abstract

Introduction: Fluor albus is one of the problems that has long been a problem for women. Leucorrhea or Flour Albus is a symptom that most women very often experience. This disorder is the second most common problem after menstrual disorders. Fermentation of milk into milk curd is carried out with the help of lactic acid bacteria, namely Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus, causing microflora in the intestine. Objective: To identify the relationship between consumption of soy milk containing synbiotics and a decrease in the incidence of pathological fluor albus in adolescent girls. Materials and Methods: The population in this study was all female adolescent  with fluor albus, totaling 218 students. Inclusion Criteria: female Adolescent  aged 14-18 years. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. Results: The results of the analysis showed that there were significant changes in the characteristics of fluor albus in the control group and the intervention group (p = 0.000 <0.05). The mean value ± standard deviation of hemoglobin in the control group (9.86 ± 1.09) and the intervention group (10.80 ± 1.47) also showed a significant difference (p = 0.000 <0.05). The average characteristics of fluor albus in the intervention group were greater than the average characteristics of fluor albus in the control group. This means that the provision of milk curd in the intervention group was able to reduce pathological fluor albus. So, the provision of milk curd has been proven to have an effect on the characteristics of the respondents' fluor albus. Conclusion: This study shows that in the pure population there is a significant difference in the practice of preventing pathological fluor albus in women in the intervention group and the control group after the implementation of the provision of milk curd.

Abstract

Adolescent girls are especially susceptible to reproductive tract infections, including pathological vaginal discharge (leucorrhea), which can negatively affect their quality of life and academic performance. While pharmacological treatments exist, their use may be constrained by side effects, cost, antibiotic resistance, and limited access in low-resource settings. Herbal remedies such as soursop (Annona muricata) leaf decoction are gaining recognition for their antimicrobial and antifungal benefits, but experimental evidence among Indonesian adolescents remains scarce. This study evaluated the effectiveness of soursop leaf decoction wash in reducing pathological vaginal discharge among tenth-grade female students at SMA An-Nur Bululawang, Malang. A pre-experimental, one-group pretest-posttest design was used with 25 purposively selected participants. The intervention involved a soursop leaf decoction wash administered twice daily for seven days. Vaginal discharge status was assessed before and after intervention using validated questionnaires and observation sheets. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. After the intervention, there was a significant reduction in both the incidence and severity of pathological vaginal discharge. Prior to treatment, 56% had mild discharge, while post-intervention, 96% had no discharge. The mean discharge score dropped from 1.88 (SD = 0.83) to 1.04 (SD = 0.20), with statistical significance (p = 0.000). Soursop leaf decoction wash proved to be an effective, safe, and culturally accepted intervention to reduce pathological vaginal discharge in adolescent girls. This suggests its potential as a complementary or alternative therapy alongside conventional treatments. Integrating herbal interventions with reproductive health education in schools can empower adolescents with accessible, preventive options. Further research with larger, randomized samples and longer follow-up is recommended to confirm efficacy and safety.
