Abstract

Abstract

Fenomena maraknya budaya pencitraan digital memicu pergeseran motif belanja generasi muda Muslim dari pemenuhan kebutuhan fungsional menjadi sekadar pemenuhan identitas artifisial.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has driven changes in consumer consumption patterns through the increasingly widespread use of e-commerce platforms. Ease of access to information, digital transactions, and various promotional strategies offered by marketplaces provide benefits to consumers, but also have the potential to increase consumer behavior. Therefore, digital literacy is a crucial factor that can help people make more rational and responsible consumption decisions. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital literacy on consumer consumption patterns in the e-commerce era. The method used was qualitative research with a library research approach. Data were obtained from scientific journals, books, research articles, and the Indonesian Digital Literacy infographic published by the Ministry of Communication and Digital. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods, examining the relationship between digital literacy and consumer behavior. The results show that digital literacy has a significant influence on consumer consumption patterns. Individuals with high levels of digital literacy tend to be more critical in evaluating information, able to distinguish between needs and wants, and more discerning in dealing with various digital promotions. Therefore, increasing digital literacy can be one way to reduce consumer behavior while creating more rational, productive, and sustainable consumption patterns in the digital economy era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the purchasing interest of Gen Z Muslim consumers in local and imported halal products in marketplaces from an Islamic economic perspective. Employing a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected via a Likert-scale questionnaire from 30 active marketplace users aged 18–22 and analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency distribution and percentage). The results reveal a phenomenon of Halal Certification Primacy, where official halal certification and clear halal information act as the primary determinants of purchasing decisions (86.7%). Furthermore, 86.7% of respondents showed high interest in local halal products, with 93.3% believing local quality can compete with imports. Meanwhile, 90% remained open to imported products provided halal assurance is met. Notably, 96.7% of respondents integrate Islamic economic principles, specifically mashlahah (benefit) and tayyib (goodness), into their consumption decisions. The scientific contribution of this study lies in enriching the literature on digital consumer behavior by integrating Islamic economic principles into the mapping of halal product preferences across origins (local vs. imported), providing empirical evidence that modern Muslim consumption is driven by a blend of spiritual commitment and economic rationality.

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to determine the influence of ease of pay later, lifestyle and impulse buying on student consumptive behavior from an Islamic economic perspective. This research is quantitative research using multiple linear analysis. The population in this study were FEBI UINSU North Sumatra students. The sample in the research was carried out through probability sampling so that 98 respondents were obtained. Data sources were obtained through primary and secondary data. The research results show that the use of pay later, lifestyle and impulse buying significantly influence the consumer behavior of students at the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) of the North Sumatra State Islamic University (UINSU). The ease of use of the pay later system encourages students to make unplanned purchases, while lifestyles influenced by social trends encourage them to buy goods that are not in accordance with their actual needs. The combination of both with impulsive shopping tendencies results in excessive and unplanned spending. In Islamic law, pay later is said to be usury because there are additional costs involved in the transaction. So pay later is prohibited in Islam according to MUI Fatwa No. 117/DSN-MUI/II/2018 and Surah Ar-Rum Paragraph 39.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the influence of investment knowledge, motivation, and Islamic Financial Behavior on Islamic investment intention among Muslim university students in Medan City. Previous studies have shown inconsistent findings regarding the role of Islamic Financial Behavior in shaping investment intention. This study employed a quantitative approach using purposive sampling techniques involving 100 students. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 26. The findings indicate that investment knowledge and motivation positively and significantly influence Islamic investment intention, while Islamic Financial Behavior does not have a significant effect. Simultaneously, all independent variables significantly affect Islamic investment intention, with an adjusted R² value of 0.753. These findings strengthen the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) in explaining Islamic investment intention through cognitive and motivational dimensions. Practically, the study emphasizes the importance of improving Islamic financial literacy and investment education programs to encourage student participation in Sharia-compliant investments.

Abstract

This study analyzes the business model of local MSME communities in supporting business sustainability in Medan City. The main focus is on the strategies implemented by MSME communities to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of their members' businesses, as well as the challenges faced in adopting sustainable business models. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted using NVivo 12 Plus software with the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that MSME communities such as Bazar Orang Medan (BOM), Rumah Kawan Bunda (RKB), and About Women Community (AWC) play a significant role in supporting their members' business sustainability through digital marketing, business management training, and access to networks and resources. The business strategies implemented are based on the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) approach, covering economic, social, and environmental aspects. However, the environmental aspect has not been fully integrated into MSME business practices. The MSME community acts as a catalyst for business desires, and further synergy is needed between the government, society, and business actors to develop more sustainable business strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential of the digital economy in the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Medan City and examine the application of Islamic business ethics in the process of business digitalization. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation studies from various relevant sources. The collected data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns, relationships, and factors influencing the adoption of the digital economy among MSME players. The findings indicate that the digital economy holds significant potential in supporting MSME growth in Medan City, as evidenced by the 3,000 MSMEs that have received training and assistance from the government. However, several challenges hinder its implementation, including limited capital, low digital literacy, difficulty accessing information, and a reluctance among business owners to transition to digital systems. From the perspective of Islamic business ethics, economic digitalization is permissible as long as it does not contradict Sharia principles, such as honesty, justice, and transaction transparency. While most MSME players are not fully aware of Islamic business ethics concepts, many have unknowingly applied these values in their business activities. This study provides recommendations for the government and stakeholders to enhance digital literacy and offer continuous support through more flexible regulations, intensive training, and financial incentives to accelerate MSME digitalization based on Islamic business ethics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of gastronomic tourism to the development of halal tourism in Aceh by highlighting three main indicators, namely gastronomic products, food culture, and consumption habits. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method. The sampling technique used in this study is non-probability sampling, where 50 local and foreign tourists visiting Aceh City were selected as respondents. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 21 with a T-test to determine the effect of each variable on the development of halal tourism. The results showed that the halal product variable had a positive and significant effect on the development of halal tourism with a T-test value of 4.608 and a significance level of 0.00 (<0.10). This shows that halal gastronomic products play an important role in increasing the attractiveness of halal tourism. In addition, the tourist consumption trend variable also has a significant effect on the development of halal tourism with a T-test value of 4.139 and a significance level of 0.00. Meanwhile, the tourist experience variable has a T-test value of 4.834, which shows that tourists' positive experiences with halal services contribute to the growth of halal tourism in Aceh. Simultaneously, the three variables have been proven to have a significant impact on the development of halal tourism. Thus, strengthening the quality of halal products, understanding tourist consumption trends, and improving tourist experiences can be effective strategies in supporting the growth of halal tourism in Aceh, both in terms of policy, marketing, and improving service quality.
