Abstract

Background:Sectio caesarea (SC)  is a surgery that aims to give birth to a child through an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus. During sectio casa delivery, the mother will not feel pain, but pain will arise several hours after the procedure is completed. The pain felt by post SC mothers is a sharp pain, which spreads throughout the surgical treatment area. Objective: This study aims to analyze the Reduction in Pain Scale with the Fingerhold Technique and Positive Affirmation in Post SC Mothers at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital, Gombong. Method: This quantitative study used a quasi-experimental design with a one group pre-test and post-test design. Sampling for this study used a purposive sampling technique. The sample of this study was 80 people who had met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The instruments used were a questionnaire for the SOP for providing Fingerhold technique interventions, SOP for positive affirmations and a pain scale assessment sheet using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data analysis used univariate analysis, bivariate analysis was used to test the hypothesis with the Wilcoxon Test. Results: The results of the study showed a decrease in pain after being given the Fingerhold technique intervention and positive affirmations, as many as 14 respondents experienced changes in pain and 65 respondents experienced no changes in pain. Conclusion: The difference in pain before and after the intervention of fingerhold technique and positive affirmation, obtained significant results, meaning that there was a change in pain for the better in post-CS mothers, so it is worth considering as a policy by the hospital as one way to reduce pain in post-cesarean section.

Abstract

Shallots (Allium cepa L.) are widely known by the public as a kitchen spice and traditional medicine. Shallots have antibacterial activity. Compounds that have antibacterial properties can be obtained by isolating endophytic microbes. Endophytic microbes are microbes that live in plant tissue, are able to form colonies in plant tissue without having detrimental effects on the host, and can produce secondary metabolites like the host. Phytochemical screening of shallot tubers showed that they contained alkaloids, flavonoids, and phenolics. This research aims to isolate and identify endophytic fungi from shallot tubers and determine the antibacterial activity of these endophytic fungal isolates. Endophytic fungi were isolated using the direct planting method, and then pure isolates were identified macroscopically and microscopically. Antibacterial activity testing was carried out using the agar diffusion method against the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, and Shigella dysenteriae. There were 4 isolates of endophytic fungi produced during the isolation process, namely FEAC-U1 (Aspergillus), FEAC-U2 (Penicillium), FEAC-U3 (Trichophyton), and FEAC-U4 (Rhizopus). FEAC-U1 isolate showed the highest activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis, Bacillus cereus, and Shigella dysenteriae. FEAC-U2 isolate showed the highest activity against Salmonella typhi. FEAC-U3 isolate showed the highest activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The results of antibacterial activity testing on four isolates of shallot tuber endophytic fungi were able to inhibit the growth of the test bacteria.

Abstract

This study analyzes the Coulomb Stress Change (CSC) resulting from the Mw 7.5 Palu earthquake on September 28, 2018, to determine the actual fault plane and examine the spatial relationship between the distribution of stress changes and the locations of liquefaction. The data used were derived from the USGS catalog, which includes the mainshock and aftershocks, with the mainshock’s focal mechanism parameters strike, dip, and rake from two nodal planes, which were then processed using Coulomb 3.4 software, with an effective friction coefficient of 0.4. The results show that nodal plane 2 produced the highest percentage of aftershocks in the stress increase zone (ΔCS > 0) at 55.75%, higher than nodal plane 1 at only 40.7%, and its orientation is consistent with the direction of the Palu-Koro fault (NNW-SSE). Therefore, based on this, nodal plane 2 is interpreted as the actual fault plane of the main earthquake. Overlay analysis indicates that 3 of the 4 primary liquefaction sites Petobo, Lolu, and Jono Oge are located within the Coulomb stress increase zone based on nodal plane 2, suggesting a spatial association between the stress increase zone and liquefaction events, although a direct causal relationship cannot be concluded without further geotechnical validation. These findings suggest that Coulomb stress analysis has the potential to be used as an initial approach in identifying liquefaction-prone zones, particularly in areas with Geological conditions of water-saturated Quaternary alluvial deposits around active faults. The resulting stress distribution map can be used as supporting scientific data in disaster risk-based spatial planning and zoning of liquefaction-prone areas.
