Abstract

Teacher well-being is a crucial determinant of educational quality, yet many educators particularly those working abroad. They face challenges that compromise their physical and psychological health. This community engagement program (PKM) conducted by Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa) at Sekolah Indonesia Makkah (SIM), Saudi Arabia, aimed to enhance teacher wellness through integrated fitness and counselling training. Using a hybrid model that combined online lectures and offline practice, 23 teachers participated in structured physical exercise sessions, health education, and guidance and counselling workshops. Baseline assessments indicated that 78% of participants rarely engaged in exercise and 65% were dissatisfied with their physical condition. Post-intervention data revealed substantial improvements: 87% of teachers began exercising weekly, reported higher energy and motivation levels, and demonstrated greater awareness of wellness in teaching. Counselling competence also improved markedly, with 90% of participants able to apply preventive and developmental guidance strategies in classrooms. Qualitative feedback emphasized increased collegiality, emotional resilience, and a stronger sense of community, culminating in the establishment of a Teacher Fitness Club as a sustainable outcome. Abstract

The problem of emotional regulation in children is a crucial issue in social-emotional development that directly impacts the quality of social interactions in the school environment. Emotional regulation skills serve as the foundation for children to adjust emotional expression, build positive relationships, and navigate various social situations adaptively. However, not all children are able to develop these skills optimally, resulting in various problems such as aggressive behavior (externalization) and anxiety and withdrawal (internalization). This article aims to examine the problem of emotional regulation in children and its impact on social interactions in schools by referring to a literature review of recent research. The method used is a library study analyzing various relevant scientific sources from the past five years. The results of the study indicate that low emotional regulation skills are associated with a decline in the quality of peer relationships, increased social conflict, and the risk of social rejection. In addition, family factors, the school environment, and parenting styles also influence the development of children's emotional regulation. Therefore, schools need to play an active role in developing social-emotional competencies through meaningful, reflective, and collaborative learning to support healthy social interactions.

Abstract

Adolescence is a crucial period marked by various changes, including physical, emotional, and social development. For adolescents who experience physical impairments, the process of adaptation becomes more challenging, as they must cope not only with changes within themselves but also with increasingly complex environmental demands. This study aims to explore how adolescents with physical impairments experience difficulties in adaptation from the perspective of guidance and counseling. The method used is a literature review, examining various sources such as journals, books, and related research findings. The results of this study indicate that adolescents’ ability to adapt is strongly influenced by internal factors, such as self-acceptance and emotional regulation skills, as well as external factors, including support from family and peers. Adolescents with physical impairments often experience low self-confidence, difficulties in social interaction, and a tendency to withdraw from their social environment. However, these conditions are not permanent. With appropriate support and effective guidance and counseling services, these adolescents have a significant opportunity to grow and adapt in a positive way.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of social stigma on insecurity and self-concept in adolescents with physical disabilities through a literature review method. Adolescence is the most crucial phase in the formation of identity and self-concept, which is influenced by social acceptance and assessment from the surrounding environment. Adolescents with physical disabilities often experience negative stigma in the form of labeling, discrimination, and social exclusion, which impacts their psychological condition. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature review design through a review of various scientific articles. Data were obtained through searching academic databases and then analyzed using content analysis and inductive thematic analysis. The results of this study indicate that social stigma can have a significant negative impact on adolescents with physical disabilities, then emerging feelings of insecurity, low self-esteem, withdrawal from the surrounding environment and the formation of a negative self-concept. However, several studies also show that support from surrounding people such as family, friends, and the surrounding environment can help adolescents to build resilience, increase self- confidence and a positive self-concept. Therefore, increasing awareness from the community or surrounding environment is essential to reduce stigma and support the psychological well-being of adolescents with physical disabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of family parenting styles in children’s ethical crises in social interaction. This study employed a systematic literature review by examining relevant scholarly sources on family parenting styles, children’s ethics, moral development, and social interaction. The findings indicate that authoritarian parenting tends to shape externally driven obedience, which may limit children’s empathy, communication, and social decision-making. Permissive parenting contributes to weak self-control, low responsibility, and limited understanding of social norms. In contrast, democratic parenting shows the most positive tendency in fostering self-regulation, empathy, responsibility, and healthy social interaction. These findings suggest that the quality of family parenting plays an important role in shaping children’s social ethics. Therefore, the implementation of democratic parenting through open communication, clear boundaries, role modeling, and adequate emotional support is essential to prevent ethical crises in children’s social interaction.
