Abstract

The development of digital media has transformed the pattern of da’wah communication in society. Da’wah which was previously delivered conventionally, has now expanded through social media platforms such as Youtube. Gus Miftah is one of the contemporary islamic preachers known for his distinctive, humorous, inclusive, and community oriented rhetorical style.This study aims to analyze the da’wah rhetoric of Gus Miftah on the Youtube channel @Gus Miftah Official. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a digital ethnography approach and Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis. Aristoteles rhetorical theory consisting of ethos, pathos, and logos is used as the main analytical framework. The research data were obtained from Gus Mifta’s preaching videos uploaded in 2024 on the @Gus Miftah Official Youtube Channel. The findings indicate that Gus Miftah applies effective rhetorical strategies through strong self image building, simple and communicative language, relevant humor, and logical as well as contextual arguments. His rhetorical style successfully creates emotional closeness with audiences and broadens the reach of da’wah in the digital era. Furthermore, the use of Youtube as a medium of da’wah provides wider interaction between preachers and society. This study concludes that Gus Miftah’s da’wah rhetoric represents an adaptive model of digital da’wah that aligns with the development of social media and the needs of modern society

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of prophetic da‘wah management in fostering religious tolerance amid contemporary socio-religious problems. The phenomena of religious intolerance, identity polarization, hate speech based on religious sentiments, and the strengthening of religious exclusivism in the digital era indicate that modern society requires a more humanistic, inclusive, and contextual approach to Islamic da‘wah. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research and a phenomenological perspective. The data were obtained through the examination of the Prophet’s hadiths, da‘wah management literature, books, scientific journals, and various studies related to religious tolerance and contemporary Islamic preaching. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques to understand the relevance of prophetic values in addressing the dynamics of modern social life. The findings reveal that prophetic da‘wah management based on the Prophet’s hadiths has strong relevance in promoting social harmony and religious tolerance. The Prophet Muhammad’s da‘wah was carried out through approaches emphasizing wisdom, dialogue, compassion, moral exemplarity, and respect for social diversity. These values demonstrate that Islamic da‘wah is not merely oriented toward the transmission of religious teachings, but also toward humanization, social transformation, and the strengthening of religious moderation. This study confirms that the integration of hadith values with the concept of prophetic da‘wah management can serve as an inclusive, moderate, and adaptive model of Islamic preaching in responding to contemporary socio-religious challenges, particularly within the digital era and multicultural societies.

Abstract

The implementation of Qanun Syariah in Aceh is considered something of a dilemma. On the one hand, the implementation of the Qanun is considered to violate the provisions of Indonesian positive law, on the other hand, in the process of implementing the Qanun, the Al-Quran and Hadith are used as a basis, and it contains repressive da'wah, da'wah by making the government the perpetrator of structural da'wah, which can pressure the public to obey the teachings. Islam. This research uses a qualitative method which is research that focuses on activities, relationships, situations and conditions in the field. In carrying out this research, the author went directly to institutions related to the implementation of Qanun Islamic Sharia in Aceh, such as: Wilayatul Hisbah, Islamic Sharia, Governor, DPRA, MPU, Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The results of this research state that Qanun Syariah according to Khaled Abou el Fadl is a contemporary form of da'wah that is included in government structures. Banda Aceh has the authority to carry it out in accordance with the legitimacy of the State.

Abstract

The limited capacity to write books based on local wisdom in Mandailing Natal Regency presents a serious challenge to literacy development and cultural preservation. Despite its rich cultural heritage and strong traditional values, much of this local wisdom remains undocumented in professionally published books. Many community members, including educators, lack adequate skills in manuscript writing and publishing. This Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to enhance the ability of teachers and the wider community in Mandailing Natal Regency to write and publish ISBN-registered books that focus on local wisdom and cultural heritage. The program provides participants with theoretical knowledge and practical skills covering the entire book-writing process, including idea development, data collection, manuscript writing, editing, layout design, publishing procedures, ISBN registration, copyright, and ethical writing. The training employed lectures, discussions, case studies, and hands-on practice supported by intensive mentoring from experienced facilitators. Conducted over four weeks, the program involved 60 participants, comprising students, university students, teachers, librarians, and literacy activists. The results showed meaningful outcomes: all participants produced draft manuscripts related to Mandailing Natal local wisdom, and 18 drafts met publication standards and were compiled into one ISBN-registered book. Evaluation results also revealed a 30% increase in average pretest and posttest scores, indicating an improvement in understanding and writing competence. Overall, the program makes a positive contribution to strengthening literacy and preserving local wisdom in the Mandailing Natal Regency.

Abstract

Dampak kehidupan di lembaga pemasyarakatan mengindikasikan pentingnya kehadiran dakwah ditengah-tengah narapidana. Dakwah dalam hal ini diharapkan mampu menjadi problem solving dalam kehidupan narapidana. Karena Allah tetap menghendaki adanya peringatan, bimbingan, pengaruh dan pemberian petunjuk kepada manusia, meskipun manusia telah melakukan penyimpangan atau penyelewengan terhadap ketentuan-ketentuan Allah (Sunnatullah). Manusia diharapkan kembali ke jalan yang benar dengan mematuhi hukum Allah yang diciptakan untuk kepentingan manusia, agar manusia dapat hidup dengan baik.
