Abstract

Coriander is commonly used by people as a food flavour. Actually, people does not separate the intact and damaged coriander for food processing. The aim of this study is to examine the microbiological quality of the intact and damaged coriander based on the Total Plate Count (TPC) of mold colonies and identification of the mold contaminants. Identification of contaminants mold based on the colony and microscopic character description. Then, the fungi characters refers to the identification key book for fungi identification. The research results is: 1) the intact coriander TPC is 1.6 x 103 colonies/g and the damaged coriander TPC 1.4 x 107 colonies/g. 2) There are 10 species of molds contaminant isolated from the intact coriander and damaged coriander.

Abstract

Project-based learning can develop the student’s creative thinking skills because students will learn better if they are engaged in a meaningful learning activity. The implementation of this learning strategy with a STEAM approach supported the students to create a product. This study was aimed to measure to investigating the effect of project-based learning integrated STEAM on creative thinking skills of class X students of SMA 6 Malang. The method used in this study was quasi-experimental research using Pretest Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The result of an essay test was analyzed by using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) test followed by post hoc LSD test. The research result showed that the implementation of PBL-STEAM had a significant effect on the student’s creative thinking skills. Moreover, the post hoc LSD test findings showed several variations between the PBL strategy and the conventional learning strategy in the notation. These findings suggested that the project-based learning strategy might develop students' capacity for creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Abstract

The existence of biology teaching materials on human reproductive system material in the form of PBL-based e-modules makes learning more interesting. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity and practicality of the PBL-based human reproductive system e-module. This type of research is development using the Lee and Owens model. The results of validation of material experts 100% and field practitioners 97.50%, media experts and teaching materials 98.34% with a very valid category. The results of the practicality test from the lecturer were 97%, the one to one trial was 86.58%, the small group trial was 87.42% and the field test practicality value was 87.44% which was included in the very practical category. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the PBL-based human reproductive system e-module is very valid and practical.

Abstract

The issue of biodiversity is a concern for the whole world today. Education is key in developing knowledge and issues that affect biodiversity in the world. Biodiversity awareness programs are a national responsibility. To achieve this, it is necessary to have knowledge of biodiversity for the community. Inadequate knowledge can affect a person's attitude to the environment. This study aims to determine the influence of field trips on biodiversity knowledge and environmental sustainability attitudes of grade X students of SMA Unggulan Haf-Sa Zainul Hasan BPPT-Genggong. This study was quasi-experimental with a nonrandomized control-group pretest-posttest design. There were 36 students as the experimental group and 36 students as the control group. The results showed that the pretest and posttest data both biodiversity knowledge and environmental sustainability attitudes had normal and homogeneous data, namely with sig. above 0.05. Data analysis with biodiversity knowledge ancova has an F count of 25,674, sig. 0.00 and environmental sustainability attitude has F count 8.757, sig. 0.004. So it can be concluded that learning material on the diversity of living things with the field trip method affects biodiversity knowledge and environmental sustainability attitudes of grade X students of SMA Unggulan Haf-Sa Zainul Hasan BPPT-Genggong.
