Abstract

This study aims to analyze Arabic teaching strategies in strengthening Islamic literacy at Sunan Drajat Lamongan Islamic Boarding School. As the main language in Islamic sources such as the Qur'an, Hadith, and classical books, mastery of Arabic is the key for students to understand Islamic teachings in depth. Therefore, effective teaching methods are needed so that Islamic literacy can develop optimally. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that the Arabic teaching strategy at the Sunan Drajat Islamic Boarding School includes the qawā'id wa tarjamah (rule-based translation) method, muhādatsah (active conversation), tahfiz mufradat (vocabulary strengthening), and dirāsah al-kutub (study of classical books). In addition, technology-based approaches are beginning to be applied through the use of digital media in learning. The results of this study show that the strategy applied is able to improve the ability of students to understand Islamic texts in Arabic. However, there are still challenges in terms of variety of methods and more optimal use of technology.

Abstract

Pengelolaan jurnal ilmiah merupakan bagian penting dalam meningkatkan budaya literasi ilmiah di lingkungan perguruan tinggi, termasuk di Universitas Sunan Drajat Lamongan. Namun, banyak mahasiswa menghadapi kendala dalam memahami manajemen editorial, standar penulisan akademik, serta strategi pengelolaan jurnal Bahasa Arab menuju jurnal bereputasi. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pemahaman dan keterampilan teknis terkait manajemen jurnal ilmiah, penggunaan OJS, etika publikasi, serta tips dan trik untuk meningkatkan reputasi jurnal. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dirancang dengan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR) guna melibatkan mahasiswa secara aktif dalam proses pelatihan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa terkait proses editorial, teknik pengelolaan jurnal, serta cara mempersiapkan artikel ilmiah sesuai standar publikasi nasional. Pelatihan ini memberikan dampak positif pada kesiapan mahasiswa dalam ikut serta mengembangkan jurnal Universitas Sunan Drajat Lamongan sehingga dapat berkontribusi menuju jurnal bereputasi

Abstract

This study was motivated by the limited empirical evidence on the application of systematic methods in solving linear equation systems in physics education, particularly in dynamic electricity, to support students' mathematical reasoning abilities and learning outcomes. Previous studies have mostly emphasized conceptual understanding, while the use of the Gauss–Jordan method as a structured problem-solving approach has received limited attention. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the impact of applying the Gauss–Jordan method on students' mathematical reasoning abilities and learning outcomes. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group. Participants consisted of 67 high school students and 65 physics education students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using essay tests based on four indicators of mathematical reasoning and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk test, independent samples t-test, and Mann–Whitney U test. The results showed that students in the experimental group obtained significantly higher scores in mathematical reasoning and learning outcomes compared to students in the control group (p < 0.05). The novelty of this study lies in the integration of algorithm-based and matrix-oriented problem solving in dynamic electricity learning. These findings indicate that systematic mathematical modeling strengthens students' reasoning and conceptual understanding in physics. However, the limited sample size restricts generalization, and further research is recommended.
