Abstract

This study investigates the effect of ZnO, FeO, MnO, and MgO dopants on the optical properties of phosphate-based glass within the P₂O₅–CaO system and compares the results with glasses using eggshell-derived CaO as an alternative calcium source. The glass samples were synthesized using the melt quenching method, followed by characterization using Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) and UV-Visible spectroscopy. EDX analysis confirmed that phosphorus and oxygen were the dominant elements in all samples, with successful incorporation of each dopant as a network modifier. UV-Vis analysis revealed that the optical properties of the glass were significantly affected by both dopant type and concentration. The addition of ZnO decreases absorbance and widens the band gap up to 10 mol%, indicating improved structural regularity of the glass network. MnO exhibits a non-linear trend, with the highest absorbance observed at 5 mol% and decreasing at higher concentrations. The band gap varies from 3.37 eV to 3.59 eV, suggesting a transition from a disordered to a more stable and compact glass structure. In contrast, FeO and MgO doping reduced the band gap energy due to increased formation of non-bridging oxygen and network disruption. Additionally, comparison with eggshell-derived CaO showed higher UV absorbance compared to glass made with pure CaO, especially in the wavelength range below 400 nm, indicating that the raw material source influences the optical performance of the glass. Overall, this research highlights the potential of tuning dopant concentration and utilizing sustainable raw materials to enhance the optical characteristics of phosphate glass for use in UV-blocking, optoelectronic, and sensor applications.

Abstract

The cement industry is one of the sectors with high energy intensity and a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. This study aims to evaluate the utilization of biomass waste in the form of teak pruning twigs and leaf litter from the post-mining reclamation area of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Tuban Plant as a sustainable alternative fuel. The methods used include the collection, natural drying, and shredding of biomass to a size of less than 2 cm, which is then used as a partial substitute for coal in the kiln combustion process. The results show that this innovation successfully reduced heat energy consumption by 1008 GJ, saved operational costs of IDR 32,800,913, and reduced carbon emissions by approximately CO2 96.728 tons of CO2 from January 2024 to June 2025. This program not only improved energy efficiency and environmental performance but also transformed the value chain into a more collaborative and sustainable one, supporting the principles of the circular economy.

Abstract

Mechanical waves are an important part of high school physics, but they can be hard to understand because they are so abstract. The goal of this study was to create and test a physics-based digital exploration game that would help people understand wave phenomena. The game content included electromagnetic and mechanical waves, transverse and longitudinal waves, and the Doppler effect. This study employs a simplified instructional design model focusing on three key steps: analysis, design, and development. This model aims to enhance student engagement through the use of digital platforms and interactive learning resources such as educational games and mobile applications. Playzone was built on the CORE APPS platform. It had a shooting game set in a lab with tasks that required players to unlock objects, find clues, and get to areas that boost health. The expert reviewed the curriculum alignment, how the materials were presented, and how the evaluations worked. The assessment gave this game prototype a score of 89.33%, which means it is very feasible as learning media. These results show that the game could be very useful in the classroom because it makes learning about abstract physics concepts more fun and easier to understand by using stories and interactive activities.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan analisis pengaruh penambahan material karbon aktif arang tempurung kelapa dan arang sekam padi pada keramik berpori dengan variasi komposisi yang berbeda disetiap sampelnya. Sampel disintering pada temperatur 700℃ selama 1 jam. Sampel dianalisis hasil nilai pengukuran densitas dan hasil uji daya serap. Dari data hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai uji densitas sebesar 2,063-2,166 g/cm3, nilai uji daya serap sebesar 31,71-35,84%. Selanjutnya dilakukan karakterisasi Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Hasil menunjukkan semakin banyak konsentrasi arang sekam padi maka morfologi permukaan material akan semakin halus.

Abstract

Produksi garam tradisional di Desa Tanah Merah, Kabupaten Kupang NTT, menghadapi tantangan ergonomis dan keterbatasan energi yang berdampak pada produktivitas dan kesehatan pekerja. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kinerja pemasak garam melalui penerapan prinsip ergonomi kerja dan pemanfaatan energi alternatif yang ramah lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi lapangan, identifikasi risiko ergonomi, pelatihan postur kerja, serta instalasi tungku hemat energi berbasis biomassa lokal. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan efisiensi kerja, penurunan keluhan musculoskeletal, dan pengurangan konsumsi bahan bakar konvensional. Intervensi ini tidak hanya memperbaiki kondisi kerja, tetapi juga mendorong keberlanjutan produksi garam rakyat. Kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi model replikasi bagi wilayah pesisir lainnya yang menghadapi tantangan serupa..

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to improve the mathematical literacy ability of elementary school students by using field trip in mathematics learning. This research tried to find out the general description of field trip starting from planning, implementation and evaluation. The object of field trip is adjusted to the mathematical material so that it gives an effect on students' mathematical literacy. The mathematical material used in this study is rounding and scale. The research design used for the trial was One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, by using n-gain test for data anlysis. Data collection is done through mathematical literacy tests and observations of student activities. The results showed an increase in mathematical literacy ability through the post-test and pretest. The first post-test obtained an increase of 54.48% and the second post-test 8.30%. The results of the N-Gain analysis showed the mathematical literacy ability of students in the rounding material and the scale increases from the first pretests of 0.7 and the second pretest of 0.77, of the two results indicate N-gain in the high category so that mathematics learning through the field trip can improve students' mathematical literacy effectively.Keywords: field trips, mathematical literacy, mathematics learning.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa Sekolah Dasar dengan menggunakan field trip pada pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk menemukan gambaran umum tentang implementasi field trip mulai dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Lokasi field trip yang dituju disesuaikan dengan materi matematika, sehingga memberikan efek dalam literasi matematis siswa. Materi matematika yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah materi pembulatan dan skala. Desain penelitian yang digunakan untuk uji coba adalah one group pretest-posttest design, dengan analisis data menggunakan uji n-gain. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes literasi matematis dan pengamatan aktivitas siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis dari hasil postes dan pretes. Postes pertama diperoleh peningkatan sebesar 54.48%, dan postes kedua 8.30%. Hasil analisis N-Gain menunjukkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika pada materi pembulatan dan skala meningkat dari pretes-postes pertama sebesar 0.7 dan pretes-postes kedua sebesar 0.77, dari kedua hasil tersebut menunjukkan N-gain pada kategori tinggi sehingga pembelajaran matematika melalui field trip untuk meningkatkan literasi matematis efektif dalam penerapannya.Kata kunci: field trip, literasi matematis, pembelajaran matematika.
