Abstract

This study aimed to estimate genetic and phenotypic variability, as well as heritability values, in 41 Cayenne pepper cultivars based on vegetative traits.  The research was conducted from May to October 2024 at the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, situated in Beringin Raya village, Bengkulu City, at an elevation of 10 m above sea level.  A Randomised Complete Block Design (RCBD) was employed with a single factor consisting of 41 cultivars with three replications, each comprising 20 plants per replication.  The results revealed a wide range of genetic variability for traits such as plant height, first dichotomous height, number of leaves, leaf area, leaf greenness, number of dichotomous points, canopy area, stem diameter, shoot fresh weight, and shoot dry weight.  High phenotypic variability was observed across all evaluated traits.  High heritability was found in the trait of first dichotomous height.  Moderate heritability was observed for plant height, number of leaves, leaf greenness, number of dichotomous points, canopy area, shoot fresh weight, and shoot dry weight. Low heritability was detected in leaf area, stomatal density, and stem diameter.

Abstract

Tolerance cultivar is a best control measure to reduce losses due to virus attack in the field.  Study on growth and yield of new cultivars compared to the commercial ones is an important step in cultivar development whether they will be accepted by farmers or not. The objective of this research was to study growth and yield of new chili pepper hybrids developed for CMV tolerance in comparison to a commercial and similar fruit size one. Twelve new hybrids and one commercial hybrid cultivar 'Prada', as a control, were evaluated in a completely randomized design with 3 replications. In the greenhouse experiment, H23 and H20 showed better vegetative growth compared to other hybrids and control. Hybrid H17 showed the highest yield followed by H5, H4 and H6.  Keywords.  growth, yield, chili pepper hybrids, CMV tolerance

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat adopsi Good Agriculture Practices  (GAP) apakah kelompok tani mengetahui, memahami, dan melaksanakan Good Agriculture Practices  (GAP) kopi yang ditanam dan ditinjau apakah berpengaruh terhadap besaran produksi yang didapat setiap tahunnya melalui metode penyuluhan dan sekolah lapang teknis penerapan Good Agriculture Practices  (GAP) yang tepat, sasaran tertuju kepada mitra kelompok Tani Tunas Jaya dan Bima Saktal yang berada di Desa IV Suku Menanti yang terletak di daerah Rejang Lebong Provinsi Bengkulu. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat meningkatkan kapasitas pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam menerapkan teknik budidaya kopi yang baik mulai dari Good Agriculture Practices  (GAP) budidaya kopi, faktor pembungaan, metode stek, disain poliklonal, GAP pasca panen, dan pengolahan kopi premium. Pengetahuan anggota kelompok tani Tunas Jaya dan Bima Saktal terkait dengan Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) budidaya kopi, faktor berpengaruh pembungaan, metode stek dan rorak sudah baik. Untuk desain poliklonal kelompok tani belum mengetahui sama sekali, setelah mengetahui manfaatnya secara perlahan maka akan menerapkan  dengan pembuatan demplot di masing-masing kebun petani. Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) pasca panen sudah diketahui oleh kelompok tani serta sudah diterapkan dengan petik merah. Kelompok tani sudah mengatahui pengolahan kopi premium, namun selama ini kelompok tani masih menerapkan pengolahan kopi dengan asalan.
