Abstract

This study examines the impact of the Listen-Read-Discuss (LRD) strategy on improving Arabic reading skills among seventh-grade students of MTs Ma’had Al-Zaytun. The study was motivated by students’ low reading proficiency, often caused by teacher-centered and less interactive teaching methods. To address this issue, the LRD strategy was implemented to encourage more active student participation. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. A total of 52 students were selected as participants and divided equally into experimental and control groups, with the experimental group receiving instruction through the LRD strategy, while the control group received conventional teaching. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test instruments that had been validated and tested for reliability. The independent t-test results showed a significanca value of 0.000, indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The findings confirm that the LRD strategy effectively improves students’ Arabic reading skills. Therefore, this strategy is recommended for Arabic language learning as it promotes a more active, participatory, and interactive classroom environment.

Abstract

This article examines the use of trash bins in raising awareness of cleanliness among students taking environmental conservation courses. Awareness of cleanliness is the ability of a person to understand environmental cleanliness. Some students are still unaware, lack discipline in disposing of trash, and there is no trash bin sorting in the environment. The main issue in this study is to determine the implementation of trash bin provision in improving hygiene awareness in the 5th-grade class environment. The research method used is a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and observations of students, 5th-grade teachers at MI Ma’had Al-Zaytun, and the school principal. The research subjects consist of 4 students, 2 teachers from the 5th grade at MI Ma’had Al-Zaytun, and 1 school principal. The data collection techniques used by the researcher are in-depth interviews and observations of students, 5th-grade teachers at MI Ma’had Al-Zaytun, and the school principal. The data collection techniques used by the researcher were interviews, observations, and documentary studies. The data analysis stages conducted by the researcher were data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research results showed that hygiene awareness in the fifth-grade environment at The research results indicate that hygiene awareness in the 5th grade environment of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma’had Al-Zaytun already has good hygiene awareness, supported by the existence of a hygiene duty schedule,a reward system, as well as the role of teachers and the school principal in guidance and supervision. This study found that students understand the importance of maintaining cleanliness. Cleanliness evaluations are conducted regularly. Discipline challenges are addressed through habit formation and character development to foster environmental responsibility.

Abstract

Environmental education from an early age is very important to overcome the ecological crisis caused by human behavior that lacks concern for nature conservation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the green school program and its relationship with the environmental awareness of fourth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta Ma'had Al-Zaytun, a school under the auspices of the Indonesian Islamic Boarding School Foundation that implements a boarding school system. Using a qualitative approach and descriptive method, data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from nine students selected through purposive sampling from three classes, as well as two teachers as supporting informants. Analysis was conducted using triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. The results of the study show that the green school program has been integrated into the madrasah culture, daily activities, and learning processes, thereby successfully fostering students' environmental awareness in cognitive, affective, and conative aspects. Support from teachers, peers, families, and the madrasah and Islamic boarding school communities reinforced the internalization of environmental awareness values, while the madrasah's culture of discipline became an important foundation for the program's sustainability. This study concluded that the green school program played a significant role in shaping environmentally friendly attitudes and behaviors in elementary school students.

Abstract

Elementary school is a crucial stage in shaping children's character. At this age, they are in the golden age of moral and social development. Amid the strong current of globalization and rapid technological advancement, students are easily exposed to foreign cultures. Character education, especially the value of patriotism, serves as a shield to ensure that students maintain a sense of pride, care, and responsibility toward their nation. This study examines the implementation and analyzes the role of extracurricular dance activities in instilling patriotism among fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma’had Al-Zaytun. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the extracurricular dance activities at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma’had Al-Zaytun are implemented through three consistent stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation with reflection. These activities do not merely focus on movement skills but also provide students with an understanding of the background, cultural values, and meanings of each traditional dance taught. The dance materials are carefully selected based on students’ backgrounds, abilities, and interests, and are delivered gradually using a contextual approach in an enjoyable learning environment. This activity plays a strategic role in instilling the character of patriotism through three aspects: introducing the nation's cultural richness, fostering pride in traditional dance, and forming a commitment to preserve cultural heritage. This role is clearly reflected in students’ changes in attitude, showing pride, enthusiasm, and awareness of the importance of preserving Indonesian culture. Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Dormitory Mentor Teachers in shaping the disciplinary character of fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma’had Al-Zaytun. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects consisted of dormitory mentor teachers and fifth-grade students selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that dormitory mentor teachers act as role models, guides, directors, and controllers in instilling student discipline through habituation, exemplary behavior, and continuous supervision. Supporting factors include students’ awareness, an orderly dormitory environment, and teacher collaboration, while inhibiting factors are differences in student characteristics and lack of supervision outside dormitory hours. Thus, dormitory mentor teachers play an essential role in shaping students’ disciplinary character through consistent modeling and guidance.

Abstract

Educational background has the potential to influence learning outcomes due to differences in previous academic experiences. The number of madrasah graduates in the seventh grade of MTs Ma'had Al-Zaytun in the 2023/2024 academic year is higher than that of non-madrasah graduates. In theory, students with a madrasah educational background have an advantage in learning Arabic. However, there appears to be a lack of enthusiasm among students in attending classes, which has an impact on learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the differences in Arabic learning achievements between madrasah and non-madrasah graduates and to identify the factors that influence them. The research uses a mixed methods approach with an explanatory sequential pattern. The quantitative stage is carried out first and reinforced through qualitative analysis. The comparative quantitative approach uses probability sampling with a proportionate stratified random sampling type. The sample consisted of 80 students (53 madrasah graduates and 27 non-madrasah graduates). Data collection techniques included observation, tests, and interviews. Data analysis was performed using the T-test. A qualitative approach was conducted through interviews with teachers. The results of the study showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.703. Thus, the null hypothesis (H0) was accepted, and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was rejected. It can be concluded that there is no significant difference in Arabic learning achievement between madrasah and non-madrasah graduates in grade VII MTs Ma'had Al-Zaytun. Qualitative analysis results reveal factors that influence learning achievement, namely students' initial abilities, learning methods, learning motivation, and academic readiness.

Abstract

Basic education plays an important role in the formation of character, knowledge, and social skills of students. However, the learning of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) is often still conventional through lecture methods, making students passive in learning and less interactive with each other. This study aims to describe the applications of the Role Playing method in IPAS learning and to determine its impact on improving social interactions of fifth grade grade stundents of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma’had Al-Zaytun. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation , interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out interactively through reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions with triangulation of technical sources and time to ensure the validity of the data. The result of the study indicate that the application of the Role Playing method has strategic steps that are u seful for creating a fun learning process and are able to create an active and collaborative learning atmosphere. Student become more courageous in expressing opinions, working together, and showing empathy and social responsibility. The positive impact of the applications of the Role Playing method is seen in the establishment of cooperation, assimilation, accommodation and acculturation. Meanwhile on the other hand, negative impacts can be seen from the emergence of controversional competition and conflicts that do not lead to violence. This fosters social dynamics that color differences and learning to respect each other.
