Abstract

Abstract; Dalam sejarahnya masjid merupakan lembaga pertama yang dibangun oleh Rasulullah Saw pada periode Madinah. Di masa sekarang ini, dapat diamati fungsi masjid yang dulu multifunction itu masih banyak yang difungsikan sebatas pada rutinitas ibadah seperti shalat berjamaah (misalnya shalat Jumat dan Ramadhan) saja, sedangkan fungsi horisontalistik (hablun minannas) terlihat masih sangat kurang. Dengan demikian dapat diketahui bahwa ditinjau dari akar sejarahnya masjid telah difungsikan sedemikian rupa, tidak saja sebatas sebagai tempat ibadah-ibadah khusus semata, tetapi juga telah difungsikan pada urusan-urusan keduniaan yang di antaranya diorientasikan pada pembinaan sumber daya umat. Masjid-masjid saat ini masih banyak yang terjebak pada memposisikan diri sebagai masjid yang bercorak "vertikalistik an sich", yaitu masjid yang hanya difungsikan untuk menyelenggarakan rutinitas-rutinitas ibadah mahdhah semata. Aktivitas dakwah pada dasamya dapat dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan berbagai sarana yang ada, termasuk di dalamnya memanfaatkan masjid sebagai sarana dakwah. Sejak masa Rasulullah SAW masjid telah dimanfaatkan sedemikian rupa sebagai sarana kegiatan dakwah. Beberapa altematif penguatan tersebut dijalankan, dengan tetap memperhatikan kekuatan, peluang, hambatan, dan ancaman dari problem-problem yang dihadapi masjid, maka revitalisasi peran masjid sebagai basis gerakan dakwah dapat terwujud dengan nyata. Agar masjid tidak kehilangan peran dan fungsinya, maka di sarnping sebagai tempat ibadah, masjid juga harus dapat difungsikan sebagai tempat penyebaran ilmu pengetahuan, pusat kebudayaan, kegiatan sosial, ekonomi, politik, seni dan juga filsafat. Keywords; Revitalisasi, Peran Masjid, Media Dakwah Mosque is the first institution established by the Prophet in Medina period in the history. At the present time, it can be observed that the function of the mosque was first multifunction to the routine of worship such as prayer in congregation (e.g. the Friday prayers and Ramadan), whereas the function of horisontalistic (hablun minannas) looks still very poor. Thus, it can be seen that in terms of the historical roots, mosque has functioned as special worship alone, but also has functioned in the mundane affairs that are oriented towards the development of community resources. Mosques now place theirselves as a mosque called "verticalistic an sich", which only enables for organizing routines worship mahdhah. Basically a missionary activity can be done by utilizing a variety of existing facilities, including utilizing the mosque as a means of Dakwah. Mosque has been used in such a way as a means of Dakwah activities since the time of the Prophet Muhammad. Some strengthening alternative are executed that still focuses on strength, opportunities, barriers, and the threat of problems faced by mosque, so that the revitalization of the role of the mosque as a base missionary movement can be realized. In order to make the role of the mosque and its function loss, it sould be also used as a place to disseminate science, culture center, social activities, economic, politic, art, and philoshopy. Keywords; Revitalization, role of the mosque, the media of da’wah

Abstract

Technological advancement and modernity have a great positive impact for nowadays human life in one hand. But, it might bring some negative dimensions in the other hand. This paper aims at exploring some consequences of modernity, by its technological advancement, to a contemporary human religiosity. Using theological approach and descriptive model of writing scientific papers, this article traces humans’ trend religious behavior by describing a condition of modernization and its relation to some religious and cultural practices. This article finds that people in modern society more have great satisfaction with the use of technological advancement then the use of religious norms. This condicion often makes negative impact of modernization like dehumanization and moral degradation. The findings reveal that religion should becomes primary control of democratization from its normative essence. Spiritual dimension and ethics which are written in Islam and other religions definitely might give optimism in facing disruptive modernization era.

Abstract

Islamist movement has been proliferating in line with the historical trajectory of Indonesia's political journey; starting from the colonial regime, in the beginning of independence, New Order regime and today’s Era Reformasi. The process of Democratization and modernization lead the ideology of Islamism to a new phase of religious movement. Along with the growth of democracy in Indonesia, Islamist movement precisely shows its existence intensely in public sphere. The opening canals of freedom in the Reformation Era became a new space for ideology of Islamism to evolve and adapt some strategies to survive amidst the onslaught democratization in Indonesia. This article aims at looking to what extent the proliferation of Islamist movements after the collapse of Soeharto’s authoritarian regime in Indonesia. In this case, Surakarta becomes important to observe because it’s historical context as an embryo in giving birth to earlier Islamist movements, as well as a city famous for the proliferation of ideology of Islamism in Indonesia. Using political sociology approach, this study attempts to understand the path of proliferation of Islamist movements and its various interplayed strategies to the socio-political conditions that occur; either on a global or local scale. This article argues that the development of democracy in Indonesia continues to alter the route map of the Islamist movement. Finally, the results of this study reveal that the proliferation of the current Islamist movement plays a new strategy that appropriated with the development of democracy and technological advancements to gain more public sphere by Indonesian people.

Abstract

In common, sermon materials that presented  by the Khatib in the city of Samarinda refer to four subject themes, namely; theology / faith, religious service /syariah, morality, and current problems (education, economy ,  politics, and environment). The result of this research shows that theology problem / faith is the most common themes lectured which constitutes 40 %, the current themes around 25 %; behavior theme around 20 %; and religious service theme/ syariah around 15 %.

Abstract

Penelitian ini difokuskan terhadap pola-pola komunikasi pada Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri (STAIN) Samarinda menarik untuk dilakukan. Bahkan bisa dikatakan mendesak untuk dilakukan penelitian ini, manakala nantinya ditemukan indikator yang mengarah pada sikap acuh tak acuh, ataupun penurunan kinerja pada karyawan dan dosen STAIN yang diakibatkan oleh dampak dari penerapan pola komunikasi tertentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pola komunikasi pimpinan dengan  bawahan serta mengetahui peluang dan tantangan komunikasi pimpinan dengan bawahan di STAIN Samarinda. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, maka dapat diketahui bahwa pola komunikasi yang berlangsung di STAIN Samarinda ada 3 (tiga) bentuk; pertama, bersifat Downward Communication artinya; komunikasi dari atasan kepada bawahan; kedua,  bersifat Unward Communication artinya dari bawahan kepada atasan; dan ketiga, bersifat horizontal,  yaitu komunikasi antar unit dalam jajaran STAIN Samarinda. Adapun faktor yang mendukung berjalannya komunikasi di STAIN.

Abstract

The increase of Islamic populism is in line with a massive spread of popular culture bringing Islamic symbols. This condition has brought a proliferation of Islamic activism which promotes its discourse with popular styles familiar to millennials. YukNgaji community, which is popularly emerging on social media, is one of the Islamic movements arising from this condition. This article examines how popular culture works in creating a discourse of Islamic activism in the YukNgaji online movement. This fieldwork uses a socio-political approach to analyze the proliferation of the YukNgaji movement in various areas driven by millennials. Some of the informants’ field data and experiences were obtained through an ethnographic method. Besides, some data on Islamic activism discourse amplified by YukNgaji was obtained from screenshots in YukNgaji.id movement’s Instagram accounts. This article finds the relationship between Islamic discourse by YukNgaji activists and popular cultural narratives. According to the finding of this article, it reveals that the phenomenon of millennial Islamic movements can be read within the scope of Islamic populism and activism in Indonesia by two important things. First, the YukNgaji movement campaigns for Islamic discourse through popular culture. Second, the YukNgaji movement tends to create a group with a common Islamic identity, which is voiced through the concept of hijra.

Abstract

A fact, the modern Western world has successfully demonstrated its progress in science and technology. Various kinds of technology have been found to have a positive impact on the world. Such as the ease of transportation, communication, industry and security. However, in it still tucked and attached negative influence that become a global crisis. Such as environmental crises, poverty, morality, economic injustice, religious awareness including the declining quality of health. Science and technology which originally wanted to solve the world’s problems, and this became a setback in world civilization. This paper examines how problematic the modern scientific paradigm is in the West and the role of the Islamic world. The contributions of earlier Islamic scientists and thinkers have become evidence of how Islam pays great attention to science. through efforts to create Islamic thinkers who think constructively and positively can help solve the problem of modern science.
