Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the potential of Pseudomonas sp. in controlling bacterial leaf blight disease (Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae) in vitro. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Agroecology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa on June to September 2014. This research implemented experimental one factor that arranged in Completely Randomized Design with five replications. The treatment consisted of 6 isolates of Pseudomonas sp. (Ps 6, Ps 29, Ps 39, Ps 40, Ps 45, dan Ps 46) which was screened from the rhizosphere of roots of paddy plants. The inhibition of Pseudomonas sp. bacteria isolates was tested and showed that the results were not significantly different neither it was between each isolate nor against control (without treatment bacteria). Ps 39 isolate tend to had higher clear zone compare to other isolates.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of using biodegradable polypropylene mulch and organic fungicide doses on the growth and yield of cayenne pepper plants. The research was conducted from 09 December to 02 March 2024 in the Cibungur Village Garden Land, Buniwangi Village, Surade District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province. This research used a Split Plot Design, which was arranged based on two treatment factors, factor 1, namely M0= control treatment, M1= polyethylene mulch, and M2= polypropylene mulch. Factor 2 is F0= control treatment, F1= 15 g, F2= 20 g, F3= 25 g, and there are 12 treatment combinations repeated three times, so there are 36 experimental units and consist of 2 plants, so there are 72 plants. The observation parameters were plant height, number of leaves, number of fruit per plant, number of fruit per plot, wet weight of fruit per plant, wet weight of fruit per plot, dry weight of fruit per plant, and dry weight per plot. The use of polypropylene mulch can significantly increase the growth of plant height, number of leaves, number of fruit per plant, number of fruit per plot, wet weight of fruit per plant, wet weight of fruit per plot, dry weight of fruit per plant and dry weight per plot. Giving a dose of 25 g can significantly increase the growth of plant height, number of leaves, number of fruit per plant, number of fruit per plot, wet weight of fruit per plant, wet weight of fruit per plot, and dry weight of fruit per plant. Dry weight per plant and dry weight per plot. There was a real interaction between biodegradable polypropylene mulch and a dose of 25 g organic fungicide on the wet fruit weight per plant and wet fruit weight parameters per plot.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran kecerdasan buatan sebagai sumber motivasi bagi mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan tugas akhir skripsi. Dengan meningkatnya kompleksitas tugas akademik Dalam konteks peningkatan kompleksitas tugas akademik dan tingginya tekanan pada mahasiswa AI muncul sebagai salah satu alat untuk memberikan bantuan signifikannya dalam proses penelitian dan penulisan. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui wawancara mahasiswa fakultas pertanian Untirta dari berbagai program studi dengan metode wawancara dan kualitatif. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk mengidentifikasi peranan bagaimana motivasi dapat ditingkatkan dan proses penyelesaiannya tugas akhir semester dapat dipercepat. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa yang menggunakan alat berbasis AI merasa lebih terorganisir dan mudah mengakses informasi dan mendapatkan umpan balik yang konstruktif, yang semuanya membuatnya lebih berinstrinsik bersemangat dalam prosesnya. Temuan ini membuktikan pentingya teknologi AI dalam pendidikan tinggi dan memberikan rekomendasi untuk program AI lanjutan.

Abstract

Produksi bawang merah mengalami fluktuasi akibat pemberian nutrisi kurang optimal. Pupuk PGPR mampu meningkatkan nutrisi dari proses yang dilakukan oleh bakteri perakaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh interval penyiraman dan konsentrasi pemacu pertumbuhan tanaman dari akar rumput gajah terhadap hasil bawang merah. Kajian merupakan penelitian eksperimen menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 3 taraf interval penyiraman PGPR: 1 minggu sekali (P1), 2 minggu sekali (P2), 3 minggu sekali (P3) dan 4 taraf konsentrasi PGPR akar rumput gajah: 0 ml/1.000 ml air (G0), 10 ml/1.000 ml air (G2), 20 ml/1.000 ml air (G2), 30 ml/1.000 ml air (G3). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan interval penyiraman PGPR 2 minggu sekali (P2) memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun per rumpun, panjang akar, serta bobot basah umbi per rumpun. Perlakuan konsentrasi PGPR akar rumput gajah 20 ml/1.000 ml air (G­2) memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman, panjang akar, serta bobot basah umbi per rumpun. Terdapat pengaruh interaksi antara kombinasi interval penyiraman dan konsentrasi PGPR akar rumput gajah terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun per rumpun pada, panjang akar, dan bobot basah umbi.

Abstract

Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc) is a major fungal pathogen responsible for Fusarium wilt disease in banana plants, significantly reducing productivity and leading to substantial economic losses. This study aimed to evaluate the biocontrol potential of endophytic bacteria isolated from Mimosa pudica L. against Foc through an in vitro assay. A completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments was employed, including a negative control (CP0), a positive control (CPF0), and two endophytic bacterial isolates from Mimosa pudica L. (BEP8 and BEP15), each with four replications. The antagonistic activity of these isolates was assessed using the dual culture method. The results demonstrated that BEP8 and BEP15 significantly inhibited Foc growth from 1 to 5 days after inoculation (DAI), with maximum inhibition rates observed on day 4, reaching 36.60% and 37.52%, respectively. These findings suggest that endophytic bacteria from Mimosa pudica possess potential as biocontrol agents against Foc. However, further molecular identification and greenhouse trials are necessary to confirm their efficacy in real-world applications.

Abstract

Koperasi Anugerah Aren Banten Nusantara merupakan koperasi yang menghasilkan produk gula aren dan turunannya termasuk gula aren cair. Produksi gula aren cair selama ini masih menggunakan teknik konvensional yang memerlukan durasi waktu yang lama dan menghasilakn kualitas produk yang kurang baik. Pada kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan pendampingan dan transfer teknologi alat produksi gula aren cair dengan metode vakum evaporasi tekanan rendah. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan dari bulan September -November 2024, melalui sosialisasi, pelatihan dan pendampingan. Kegitan melibatkan bagian produksi dan managemen Koperasi Aren Banten Nusantara. Sosialisasi dilaksanan dengan metode ceramah menggunakan alat bantu leafleat. Pelatihan dan pendampingan penggunaan alat vakum evaporasi tekanan rendah dilaksanakan di area produksi Koperasi Aren Banten Nusantara. Penggunaan alat produksi gula aren cair metode vakum evaporasi dapat mempercepat produksi gula aren cair. Berdasarkan hasil produski gula aren cair didapatkan nilai brix sebesar 60, 50 dan 50 dengan total rendemen 10 kg dari nira sebanyak 100 L. Pelatihan terhadap divisi produksi gula aren efektif dilaksanakan dengan perolehan peningkatan pengetahuan di atas 50% dari nilai sebelum dilakukan pelatihan. The production of liquid palm sugar has so far used conventional techniques that require a long duration and produce poor product quality. In this community service activity, assistance and technology transfer were carried out for liquid palm sugar production equipment using the low-pressure vacuum evaporation method. The implementation of the activity was carried out from September to November 2024, through socialization, training and assistance. The activity involved the production and management divisions of the Banten Nusantara Aren Cooperative. Socialization was carried out using the lecture method using leafleat aids. Training and assistance in the use of low-pressure vacuum evaporation equipment were carried out in the production area of ​​the Banten Nusantara Aren Cooperative. The use of liquid palm sugar production equipment using the vacuum evaporation method can accelerate the production of liquid palm sugar. Based on the results of liquid palm sugar production, the brix values ​​obtained were 60, 50 and 50 with a total yield of 10 kg from 100 L of sap. Training for the palm sugar production division was effectively implemented with an increase in knowledge of more than 50% from the value before the training.

Abstract

Cendawan patogen Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense (Foc) dapat merusak tanaman pisang dengan menyebabkan penyakit layu fusarium. Dalam upaya pengendalian hayati, cendawan endofit dapat diterapkan sebagai agen biologis untuk menekan pertumbuhan patogen. Cendawan endofit berpotensi antagonis dalam menghambat pertumbuhan simbionnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi cendawan endofit asal akar alang-alang (Imperata cylindrica L.) dan menganalisis kemampuan antagonisme cendawan endofit dalam menghambat pertumbuhan cendawan patogen Foc secara in vitro. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksplorasi dan eksperimen. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial dengan lima taraf perlakuan dalam lima ulangan. Perlakuan yang dicoba yaitu: tiga isolat cendawan endofit alang-alang (CEA1, CEA2, dan CEA3), kontrol positif (CP0), dan kontrol negatif (CPF0). Variabel yang diamati yaitu: persentase daya hambat, luas pertumbuhan koloni cendawan, karakterisasi morfologi secara makroskopis, dan patogenisitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 23 isolat cendawan endofit berhasil diisolasi dari akar alang-alang, dimana enam diantaranya terdapat aktivitas antagonisme. Tiga isolat dengan aktivitas antagonisme kuat dikodekan CEA1, CEA2, dan CEA3. Berdasarkan uji antagonisme dengan metode dual culture, ketiga isolat bersifat antagonis terhadap cendawan Foc dengan penghambatan bervariasi. Isolat CEA3 menunjukkan hasil terbaik dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Foc pada 4-7 Hari Setelah Inokulasi (HSI) dengan persentase daya hambat hingga 58,21% dan menekan luas pertumbuhan koloni Foc hingga 4,74 cm. Ciri makroskopis CEA3 memiliki bentuk koloni irregular, topografi flat, tekstur permukaan granular, berwarna putih kehijauan, dan ada tetesan eksudat. Uji patogenisitas menunjukkan isolat tersebut tidak bersifat patogen.

Abstract

Insects have an important role in agriculture as pollinators, predators and decomposers, but can also be pests that damage plants and reduce production yields. If farmers can identify pests quickly and precisely based on their symptoms, negative impacts can be minimized. This research aimed to identify insect diversity in the PTPN VIII tea garden in Goalpara, Cisarua Village, Sukaraja District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, and was conducted from November to December 2023. The method used was descriptive with an exploratory approach. Data was collected through direct observation using yellow traps and pitfall traps at three locations at different heights. As a result, 12 orders and 29 families of insects were found, belonging to Hymenoptera, Entomobryomorpha, Diptera, Araneae, Dermaptera, Orthoptera, Coleoptera, Blattaria, Hemiptera, Lepidoptera, Psocoptera, and Blattodea. The diversity indices at locations I, II, and III were 2.48; 2.23; and 2.17, respectively; whereas the dominance indices were 0.11; 0.16; and 0.13, respectively. In conclusion, insect diversity in the Goalpara PTPN VIII tea garden was classified as moderate, with a low level of dominance, indicating a balanced and stable ecosystem. This research is useful for providing information about the diversity and abundance of insects on the PTPN VIII Goalpara Tea Plantation as well as providing knowledge to farmers about the role of insects on the plantation, including insects that have the potential to act as pests, predators, parasitoids and pollinators.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara agraris di mana tanaman padi (Oryza sativa L.) memiliki peran penting dalam memenuhi kebutuhan pangan pokok nasional. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi produktivitas padi adalah serangan serangga hama, terutama pada fase vegetatif yang rentan terhadap kerusakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman serangga hama pada pertanaman padi (Oryza sativa L.) fase vegetatif di Lahan Sawah Desa Cimanggu Kecamatan Cimanggu Kabupaten Pandeglang. Penelitian dilakukan pada Januari–Februari 2025 menggunakan metode purposive sampling di tiga titik lokasi berbeda berdasarkan ketinggian tempat. Pengambilan sampel serangga dilakukan dengan jaring ayun, lalu diidentifikasi di Laboratorium Ilmu Dasar dan Perlindungan Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Hasil penelitian menemukan 8 spesies serangga hama dari 5 ordo, dengan Orseolia oryzae (Diptera) sebagai spesies paling dominan di semua lokasi. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman (H') di ketiga titik berkisar antara 0,72–0,92 tergolong rendah, sedangkan indeks dominansi (C) berkisar 0,54–0,68 masuk kategori sedang. Faktor abiotik seperti suhu, kelembaban, dan pH tanah di ketiga lokasi relatif stabil dan berada dalam kisaran optimum untuk pertumbuhan tanaman padi serta mendukung keberlangsungan hidup serangga hama. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi dasar bagi pengembangan strategi pengendalian hama terpadu berbasis ekologi di Desa Cimanggu Kecamatan Cimanggu Kabupaten Pandeglang.

Abstract

Neem (Azadirachta indica) is a type of forest tree where almost all parts of the plant, such as the stem, leaves and seeds, contain bioactive compounds that can be used as botanical pesticides. The aim of this research was to determine the effective concentration of botanical pesticide solution from neem leaf extract against the mortality of brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens) on Inpari 32 rice variety. The study was conducted from February to March 2025 in Kampung Kadupinang, Mandalasari Village, Kaduhejo Subdistrict, Pandeglang Regency, and at the LPHP Laboratory Region 2 Pandeglang, Banten Province. The experiment used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four replications and a single factor, which was the concentration of neem leaf extract botanical pesticide at six levels: M0- (control without treatment), M0+ (control with brown planthopper without treatment), 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30%. Observed parameters included brown planthopper mortality (%), lethal time 50% (LT50), lethal concentration 50% (LC50), fresh weight of rice plants, and dry weight of rice plants. The results showed that the 30% concentration had a highly significant effect on brown planthopper mortality. 30% concentration induced the fastest mortality (144 hours), though it failed to achieve 50% mortality. Fresh weight of rice plants was not significantly affected by the neem leaf extract treatment, with the best average value of 3.54 grams. Dry weight of rice plants was significantly influenced by the neem leaf extract treatment, with the highest average value of 1.56 grams. The fastest brown planthopper mortality occurred at the highest concentration.
