Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop an evaluation instrument for Dynamic Fluid materials with characteristics based on the ISCACoRe metacognitive strategy and determine the quality of the instrument to improve physics problem-solving skills. This study used research and development methods. The subjects of this developing study were 11th grade students at a senior high school in Yogyakarta. The ISCACoRe metacognitive strategy-based physics learning evaluation instrument was prepared in flip modules using the assessment-as-learning model, with characteristics of being independent, flexible, stimulating, and based on digital media. The instrument's validity is 86.25%, and the assessment as learning model's validity is 93.34%, indicating that the expert instrument is appropriate for use in learning evaluation activities. The level of an item's internal consistency is declared valid if  > 0.3961, a total of 8 items are accepted because  > 0.3961, and 2 items are rejected because   < 0.3961.  The Cronbach's alpha method of 0.817 and split-half of 0.875, with very high criteria, were used to obtain the results of the instrument reliability test. The experimental and control group obtained an average score of the normalized gain test (N-Gain) of 56.83%, and 44.10% respectively

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the validity of a numeracy literacy assessment instrument of electromagnetic induction based on minimum capability assessment (MCA) which was develop using Rasch model analysis assisted by Winstep software. The research employed the research and development design with a modified Mardapi model. The instrument was constructed by developing fifteen questions. The analysis of the instrument was utilized to measure the construct and item validity, reliability, item difficulty level, and item discriminatory. This research involved 32 participants in the small-scale test and 206 participants in the large-scale trial. The test result showed that the fifteen questions were suitable to use because it has values that meet the criteria for all measurement variables both on small scale and large-scale tests and could be assess students' numeracy literacy skills.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve learning outcomes and critical thinking skills of class X-K SMA Negeri 6 Semarang, through the application of adaptive teaching materials Global Warming Learning System. The learning model used is Problem Based Learning with group investigation method (cycle I) and Project Based Learning with product differentiation (cycle II). CAR is carried out in two cycles, where each cycle consists of four activities, namely action planning, action implementation, observation and reflection which adopts the Kemmis and Taggart models. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, tests, questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis used a qualitative descriptive approach based on educational outcomes and improving students' critical thinking skills. The results show that there has been an increase in educational outcomes and critical thinking skills (pre-cycle to cycle I) and (cycle I to cycle II). Evidenced by the results of studying at first cycle, which was completed by 15 students (41.67%) and the students' critical thinking skills, the average 71.59% was high category. Meanwhile the educational outcomes of physics cycle II which were completed were 28 students (77.78%) and the ability to think critically with an average 78.88% was high category

Abstract

Porous nata de soya membranes are a promising filtration material due to their good mechanical and chemical properties. However, further modifications are necessary to enhance their filtration performance, one of which involves the addition of sulfuric acid. Therefore, the objective of this study is to investigate the effect of sulfuric acid addition on the porosity and permeability properties of porous nata de soya membranes. Porosity tests using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) were conducted to analyze the microstructure of the nata de soya membranes. The SEM characterization results provide detailed images of the membrane's pore structure, including size, distribution, surface area, and pore density. Additionally, permeability analysis was performed using Darcy's law. The results indicate that the addition of sulfuric acid affects the porosity and permeability of the membranes. Increasing the sulfuric acid concentration from 15% to 25% resulted in a decrease in porosity from 51% to 47%. The pore size increased from 0.35 µm at 15% to 0.86 µm at 25%. Furthermore, the surface area and pore density decreased with the increasing concentration of sulfuric acid, indicating a reduction in membrane effectiveness in filtration processes. The membrane's permeability decreased drastically from 2.55287 x 10-9 m² at 15% to 2.12739 x 10-12 m² at 25%, demonstrating that sulfuric acid causes pore closure and structural damage to the membrane, reducing its ability to allow fluid to pass through. The implications of this research suggest that porous nata de soya membranes are effective for microfiltration of bacteria (such as E. coli) and wastewater filtration.

Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan lingkungan yang dominan saat ini adalah limbah deterjen dari kegiatan pencucian. Kebanyakan deterjen konvensional menggunakan surfaktan  dalam bentuk fosfat, alkil benzena sulfonat, dietanolamin, alkil fenoksi.  Semua senyawa tersebut merupakan  senyawa yang berasal dari sumber daya tak terbarukan, beracun, dan berbahaya bagi lingkungan.  Bahan alternatif sumber surfaktan yang ramah lingkungan adalah biji lerak dan daun waru. Kandungan utama lerak adalah saponin yang berfungsi sebagai detergen. Daun waru dapat digunakan sebagai detergen alami, karena memiliki kandungan saponin, flavonoid, polifenol, dan tanin. Saponin pada daun waru dan biji lerak menghasilkan busa yang berfungsi sebagai bahan pencuci dan berperan sebagai surfaktan pada pembuatan detergen yang            ramah lingkungan. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah melakukan edukasi dan memberdayaan masyarakat dengan membuat sabun cair ramah lingkungan, pengemasan serta pemasaran produk. Metode kegiatan yang akan dilakukan adalah sosialisasi, pembuatan sabun cair, memberikan ketrampilan dan mempraktekkan pembuatan sabun cair, pengemasan dan pemasaran. Para Ibu-ibu menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi dalam menerima materi yang disampaikan, terutama dalam pemahaman mengenai materi penyuluhan. Oleh karena itu pemakaian sabun lerak ini menjadi pilihan yang tepat bagi warga PKK RT 01 untuk beralih ke hidup ramah lingkaran dan lebih sehat karena pembuatan sabun ini sangat mudah dibuat sendiri, murah dan memiliki banyak manfaat.

Abstract

The debate in the making of critical thinking evaluation tests among researchers and practitioners still exists. Problems come from definition and aspects segmentation which represents critical skills to be measured. According to the problems, the specific critical thinking instruments to physics content such as momentum are still hard to find. The instrument of critical thinking can support the learning evaluation to improve the critical power of Pre-Service. This study aims to develop the instrument of momentum critical thinking (MCT) test for Pre-service teachers. The MCT consisted of 8 questions representing 17 objective items. Based on the content validity test, it obtained a total percentage of 81.25% with the eligibility criteria. The reliability test demonstrated by the result of 28 pre-service teacher tests. The MCT instrument which tested was 17 objective items. The reliability test’s results showed Cronbach's alpha value of 0.716 with a high category. Research findings show that the CTM test can be used to measure the CT-specific domain of pre-service teachers in momentum, and relevant material for the consideration of university preparation for pre-service teacher learning in the 21st century

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian dengan karakterisasi dan fabrikasi waveguide berbasis polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). Material inti yang digunakan adalah Expanded Polyestyre (EPS) dengan Unsaturated Polyester Resin (UPR) sebagai upaya meningkatkan keefisienan waktu dalam fabrikasi waveguide. Fabrikasi waveguide dilakukan dengan memahat PMMA berbentuk lurus dibagian tengah menggunakan computer numerical control (CNC), kemudian diisi material inti dan disambungkan dengan polymer optical fiber (POF) dan ditutup kembali menggunakan PMMA yang belum dipahat. Waveguide difabrikasi dengan variasi konsentrasi EPS dan UPR sebanyak enam variasi konsentrasi.. Karakterisasi dilakukan dengan cara melewatkan cahaya LED berwarna merah dengan panjang gelombang 660 nm ke dalam waveguide. Pengukuran tegangan keluaran pada waveguide dilakukan menggunakan detektor fotodioda yang disambungkan dengan multimeter. Untuk hasil karakterisasi, waveguide yang memiliki loss arus dan tegangan paling kecil adalah waveguide F dengan konsentrasi EPS dan UPR sebesar 70% dan 30%. Waveguide yang memiliki efisiensi dalam pembuatan adalah waveguide A dengan konsentrasi EPS dan UPR sebesar 20% dan 80%.

Abstract

Kabupaten Sumedang merupakan salah satu kabupaten di Jawa Barat dengan jumlah bencana longsor yang tinggi. Hal ini menjadi indikator perlunya pemetaan daerah rawan longsor sebagai bentuk mitigasi bencana. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memetakan daerah rawan longsor di Kabupaten Sumedang berdasarkan pedoman PVMBG 2015. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode weighted overlay. Data yang digunakan adalah data spasial dari 2 parameter utama pemicu longsor yaitu curah hujan dan kemiringan lereng. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa Kabupaten Sumedang memiliki curah hujan tahunan tinggi (2.000 – 3.000 mm) dan kemiringan lereng curam (30-50%). Hasil pemetaan didapatkan bahwa Kabupaten Sumedang memiliki tingkat kerawanan longsor rendah sampai sedang.

Abstract

The integration of various learning content is important in the education process to develop the multi-competences of graduates. This is a response to the Industrial Revolution 4.0. ICT helps graduates compete and master the competencies needed in various scientific fields, especially physics. Efforts to build ICT literacy in learning Physics must complete an evaluation tool containing comprehensive Physics content. The ICT literacy test instrument as an evaluation tool can be packaged with scratch programming activities to help uncover ICT literacy based on computational physics concepts. This study aims to develop an ICT literacy test instrument with physics content based on Scratch programming for middle-level students. This research is development research with a research stage adapted from the development stage by Borg and Gall, including (1) Potential and problem analysis; (2) Data collection; (3) Product design; (4) Design validation and design revision; (5) Product trial; (6) Analysis and reporting. The test subjects were 106 students. The Physics ICT questions were developed to consist of 20 questions. Based on the validity test, a total percentage of 85.33% is obtained with proper criteria. The reliability of the test is shown by the results of calculations with Alpha Cron of 0.716 high categories. Overall, the PICT test is feasible to be used as an ICT literacy test for Physics content.
