Abstract

Siam citrus peel (Citrus nobilis L. var. Microcarpa) is a plant derived from Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan Province. Bioavailability of herbal active compounds can be enhanced by formulating extract into nanoparticle. The polymer used was chitosan with crosslinker Na-TPP. Stirring speed and stirring time play an important role to produce small particle size in forming nanoparticle using ionic gelation method. Enhancement of stirring speed and stirring time could reduce particle size. Nanoparticles were prepared using ionic gelation method by mixing Na-TPP, extract and chitosan (1:1:6) with varying the stirring speed 500 rpm, 1000 rpm, 1500 rpm and stirring time 1 hrs, 2 hrs, 3 hrs. The particle size of nanoparticle was found to be 85.3 nm at 1000 rpm of stirring speed and 3 hrs of stirring times, with polidispersity index 0.287, zeta potential +32.37 mV and entrapment efficiency 87.12 %.

Abstract

Buas-buas, meniran, secang, and rosella have biological and pharmacological activities as antioxidants. The combination of the four plants is expected to provide a more potent synergistic effect on antioxidant activity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the total phenol content, total flavonoids, and antioxidant effects before and after combination. The combination of extracts, buas-buas, meniran, secang, and rosella which are used in sequence is (1: 1: 1/2: 1/2), (1: 2: 1/2: 1/2), and (2: 1 : 1/2: 1/2). Plants used in the form of simplicia was extracted by maceration method. Radical capture activity uses DPPH and IC50 values are determined. Determination of total phenol is expressed equivalent to gallic acid. Total flavonoids are expressed as quercetin equivalents. The phenol and flavonoid content obtained are then correlated with antiradical activity. The results showed that the best IC50 values were in the combination of ratios (1: 1: 1/2: 1/2) that is (11.0 µg / mL), then (1: 2: 1/2: 1/2) which was 13.3 µg / mL, and (2: 1: 1/2: 1/2) which is 19.4 µg / mL. The highest total phenolic and flavonoid content in the ratio (1: 2: 1/2: 1/2) is 33.57% w/w EAG and 74.00% w/w EQ. Correlation analysis between IC50 values with total phenolic and flavonoid contents showed a positive correlation with R2 values of 0.8236 and 0.0102 with positive slope. Thus, it can be concluded that the total phenol content influences free radical scavenging activity by 82.36%, while the effect of total flavonoid content was only 1.02%.

Abstract

Antioxidant Activities Combination Of Brewing Buas-Buas (Premna serratifolia Linn.), Meniran (Phyllanthus niruri L.), Secang (Caesalpinia sappan Linn.) And Rosela (Hibiscus sabdarifa) with DPPH (2,2-Diphenyl-1-1) MethodBuas-buas leaves, meniran herbs, sappan wood, and roselle flowers are rich in phenols and flavonoids. The purpose of this study was to determine the IC50 value of the combination of wild-savage leaves, meniran herbs, sappan wood, and roselle flowers brewed in warm air using the DPPH method. The infusion is obtained from the simplicia of wild-savage leaves, meniran herbs, sappan wood, and roselle flowers which are powdered in a ratio of 1:1:0,5:0,5, 2:1: 0,5: 0,5, and 1:2: 0,5: 0,5. The results of the data show the IC50 values for each comparison, namely 119.4 µg/mL, 100.9 µg/mL, and 131 µg/mLKeywords:  DPPH; Antioxidant; Buas-Buas; Meniran; Secang; RoselaDaun buas-buas, herba meniran, kayu secang dan bunga rosela kaya akan fenol dan flavonoid. Daun buas-buas, meniran, kayu secang, dan bunga rosela sudah terkenal di masyarakat dan sudah banyak digunakan, akan tetapi belum banyak ditelusuri mengenai kombinasi  antara tanaman serta pemanfaatan tanaman sebagai antioksidan dan diolah menjadi minuman seduhan, oleh karena itu dilakukan penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui nilai IC50 dari kombinasi daun buas-buas, herba meniran, kayu secang dan bunga rosela yang diseduh dalam air hangat menggunakan metode DPPH. Kombinasi seduhan pada penilitan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat mengenai seduhan yang kaya antioksidan. Seduhan diperoleh dari simplisia daun buas-buas, herba  meniran, kayu secang dan bunga rosela yang diserbukkan dengan perbandingan 1:1: 0,5: 0,5, 2:1: 0,5: 0,5 dan 1:2: 0,5: 0,5. Abstract

Standardization Of Buas Buas Leaf (Premna serrativeolia Linn.) Ethanol Extract And Secang Wood (Caesalpinia sappan Linn.).Extract standardization is a parameter used to ensure the safety and quality of extracts before being developed into pharmaceutical preparations. Meanwhile, Buas buas leaves (Premna serrativeolia Linn.) are useful for treating gastric disorders, carminatives, hemorrhoids, diuretics, fever, constipation, shortness of breath, and also as anti-inflammatory expectorants, antioxidants, antimicrobials, and anticoagulants. Furthermore,secang wood (Caesalpinia sappan Linn.) is widely known as a nutritious herbal drink. This research aims to determine extracts standardization including specific parameters (organoleptic and phytochemical screening) and non-specific (drying losses). The multilevel maceration with n-hexane and ethanol solvents extraction method was used. The results showed that the percentage of drying shrinkage in the ethanol extract of buas-buas leaves  and secang wood was 18.99% ± 0.60 and 15.27% ± 1.46 respectively. Moreover, the ethanol extract of buas-buas leaves has a thick shape, blackish-brown in color, has a distinctive aromatic odor, while secang wood has a thick, brownish-red color, as well as a distinctive aromatic odor. The Buas buas leaves extract contains flavonoids, phenolics, tannins, saponins, and terpenoids, while secang wood contains only flavonoids, tannins, and terpenoids.Keywords : Extract standardization, Graded maceration, Buas buas leaves, Secang wood.Standarisasi ekstrak merupakan parameter untuk menjamin keamanan dan kualitas ekstrak sebelum dikembangkan menjadi sediaan farmasi. Daun buas-buas (Premna serratifolia Linn.) berkhasiat sebagai mengobati gangguan lambung, karminatif, diuretik, demam, sesak nafas, ekspektoran antiinflamasi, antioksidan, antimikroba, sembelit, ambeien, dan antikoagulan. Kayu secang (Caesalpinia sappan Linn.) dikenal sebagai minuman herbal yang berkhasiat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui standarisasi ekstrak meliputi parameter spesifik (organoleptis dan skrining fitokimia) dan non-spesifik (susut pengeringan). Metode ekstraksi pada penelitian ini menggunakan maserasi bertingkat dengan pelarut n-heksan dan etanol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase susut pengeringan ekstrak etanol daun buas-buas sebesar 18,99% ± 0,60  dan ekstrak etanol kayu secang sebesar 15,27% ± 1,46. Ekstrak etanol daun buas-buas memiliki bentuk yang kental, berwarna coklat kehitaman, berbau aromatik khas, sedangkan ekstrak etanol kayu secang memiliki bentuk yang kental, berwarna merah kecoklatan, berbau aromatik khas. Ekstrak etanol daun buas-buas mengandung senyawa flavonoid, fenolik, tanin, saponin, terpenoid. Sementara itu, ekstrak etanol kayu secang mengandung flavonoid, tanin, dan terpenoid.Kata kunci : Standarisasi ekstrak, Maserasi bertingkat, Daun buas-buas, Kayu secang.

Abstract

The combination of ginger and white turmeric is the right way to make instant powder drink preparations. The content of gingerol in ginger and curcumin in white turmeric is useful as a natural diuretic (urine laxative). Instant powder drink preparations are made of 2 formulas with different variations of sweeteners, namely formula 1 with 100% granulated sugar and formula 2 with a combination of granulated sugar and brown sugar (3:1). This study was to determine the effect of variations in sugar on physical characteristics and the level of preference of panelists for the preparation of an instant powder drink containing a combination of ginger rhizome and white turmeric. Making instant powder drinks using the crystallization method Physical test data was analyzed by the Independent Sample T-Test. The test results showed that the two formulas met the powder test requirements with the pH value, setting, moisture content, flow time, and angle of repose in formula 1 each being 6.53; 9.3%; 0.26%; 15.63 grams/second; and 31.62, while formula 2 is 6.19; 5.6%; 1.04%; 11.55 grams/second; and 36.44. The hedonic test shows that there is a significant difference in preference values where formula 2, with a combination of sugar and brown sugar (3:1), is more preferred by the panelists.

Abstract

Rumah sakit merupakan fasilitas pelayanan kesehatan bagi masyarakat yang senantiasa dituntut untuk melakukan peningkatan kualitas pelayanan untuk memenuhi kepuasan pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan menganalisis kepuasan pasien rawat inap di ruangan Penyakit Dalam terhadap pelayanan di Instalasi Farmasi RSUD dr. Soedarso Pontianak periode Desember 2011 – Ferbruari 2012. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah pasien maupun keluarga pasien yang pernah mendapatkan pelayanan di Instalasi Farmasi RSUD dr. Soedarso Pontianak. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 172 orang. Proses pengumpulan data primer dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian dalam bentuk kuesioner dan  pengolahan data untuk mengetahui validitas dan reliabilitas kuesioner menggunakan program SPSS 17 forwindows. Variabel  bebas yang digunakan yaitu dimensi berwujud, dimensi keandalan, dimensi ketanggapan, dimensi jaminan, dan dimensi  empati. Sedangkan variabel terikatnya yaitu tingkat kepuasan  pasien rawat inap di ruangan Penyakit Dalam terhadap pelayanan  di Instalasi Farmasi RSUD dr. Soedarso. Analisis kepuasan pada  penelitian ini menggunakan model Weighted Servqual. Hasil  penelitian diperoleh indeks kepuasan secara keseluruhan sebesar  -0.92. Sedangkan indeks kepuasan untuk setiap dimensi adalah  sebagai berikut: -1.15 untuk dimensi jaminan, -0.91 dimensi  keandalan, -0.88 dimensi empati, -0.86 dimensi berwujud dan -0.76 untuk dimensi ketanggapan. Indeks kepuasan baik secara  keseluruhan maupun setiap dimensi menunjukkan nilai negatif  yang berarti pasien masih belum merasa puas terhadap pelayanan  di Instalasi Farmasi RSUD dr. Abstract

Coffee favored because it has flavor, distinctive aroma, and contain bioactive components that can act as an antioxidant. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of extracts and fractions of green coffee cherries of Merapi. Green coffee cherries macerated with chloroform further partitioned with 80% methanol solvent. Measurement of antioxidant activity using DPPH spectrophotometric method. The results showed the chloroform extract has antioxidant activity 2.21 mg / mL, the methanol soluble 1.88 mg / mL, the residue was 3.66 mg / mL, and vitamin C 2.38 ug / mL.

Abstract

Pada masa pandemi COVID-19 banyak masyarakat menggunakan produk jamu untuk mencegah atau menjaga kesehatannya. Salah satu produk herbal yang telah dikenal masyarakat adalah serbuk jamu instan. Rimpang jahe dan herba meniran merupakan tanaman yang mudah tumbuh dan dibudidayakan. Dilaporkan kedua tanaman ini memiliki zat aktif berupa asam ursolat dan asam oleanolat, seskuiterpen, bisapolene, zingiberene, zingiberol, dan beberapa minyak atsiri yang berkhasiat sebagai antioksidan, analgesik, sedatif, antipiretik, antibakteri, selain itu herba meniran dilaporkan juga memiliki aktivitas sebagai antidiabetes. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dalam pelatihan teknis ini adalah bersifat penyuluhan, demonstrasi, praktek dan pendampingan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan mengundang ibu-ibu pkk di desa sungai pangkalan I Kecamatan Sungai Raya Kabupaten Bengkayang sebanyak 35 orang. Hasil kegiatan yang telah dicapai dari kegiatan ini adalah bertambahnya pengetahuan ibu-ibu pkk tentang materi pembuatan serbuk jahe instan jahe dan meniran, manfaat pendampingan pelatihan pembuatan serbuk jahe instan jahe dan meniran, pembuatan produk yang dipraktekkan dapat memberikan pemahaman, inspirasi, dan keterampilan kepada masyarakat, dan produk yang dihasilkan dapat diproduksi skala rumah tangga dan dapat meningkatkan perekonomian kepada masyarakat. Tanggapan peserta terhadap kegiatan ini direspon sangat positif, hal ini dapat dilihat dari rata-rata persentase tingkat kepuasan responden yang sangat baik sekali 53.68% dan baik sekali 38.42%.

Abstract

Kemangi (Ocimum sanctum Linn.) is a plant that has the chemical content of essential oils are linalool, estragol, graniol, eugenol, and cineol. The purpose of this research is to know whether extract of kemangi leaves have a effect as mosquito repellent and how about its effectivity when it was formulated in lotion product. Extract test group being used are negative control, n-heksane extract, and methanol extract. Lotion group test being used are negative control, positive control, Lotion A (lotion that contain 2,5 % n-heksane extract) Lotion B (lotion that contain 5% n-heksane extract) Lotion C (lotion that contain 10% n-heksane extract). Effectiviy test was done for six hour with test for 15 minutes every single hour. It was done in three time repetition on one people. Stability test carried out for 31 days includes organoleptic, viscosity, ability of spreading and sticking and pH. The results shows that n-heksane extract give the best repellent effect than methanol extract so it was formulated in lotion product with different concentration. The results of the effectivity test and stability test was analized statistically by use One Way ANOVA with confidence level 95% and then it analized with Post Hoc Tukey. The result repelensi percentages are Lotion A (53,97%), Lotion B (69,67%), Lotion C (85,97%). The results shows that Lotion C give the best repellent effect between Lotion A and Lotion B. The result shows that Lotion C has a few change in all variables of stability test, so Lotion C better than Lotion A and Lotion B.

Abstract

Background: The plants used in this study were buas-buas leaves (Premna serratifolia L.) and sappan wood (Caesalpinia sappan L.). The people of West Kalimantan use the buas-buas leaves and sappan wood as traditional medicine, and, based on research, they have antibacterial activity. Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli are bacteria that cause nosocomial infections and have developed resistance to many antibiotics. This research was conducted to determine the antibacterial activity of the combination of n-hexane extract of buas-buas leaves and sappan wood. Methods: The antibacterial activity test was carried out by the agar diffusion method using a paper disc with a diameter of 6 mm. The antibacterial activity of a combination of n-hexane extract of buas-buas leaves and sappan wood in a ratio of 1:1, 2:1, and 1:2 at concentrations of 125, 250, and 500 ppm. Results: In this study, the combination of n-hexane extract of buas-buas leaves and sappan wood with various concentrations, even with increasing concentrations, did not show any inhibition zones. The factors that are thought to affect the absence of the inhibition zone are the concentration of the extract, the content of secondary metabolites, the solubility of the extract, and the length of contact time Conclusion: The combination of n-hexane extract of buas-buas leaves and sappan wood did not have antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli in all comparisons and concentrations.
