Abstract

The Ministry of Environment and Forestry states that 75% of river water in Indonesia has been polluted by household and industrial waste. Triclosan (2,4,4-trichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl-ether) is an antibacterial that is widely used in various health and household supply products, such as detergents, toothpaste, mouthwash, bath soap and so on. This study approach employs liquid-liquid extraction on sampels, which are subsequently subjected to SIM mode analysis untilizing the Gas Chromatography Mass Spectometry (GC-MS) method. River water samples were taken from 3 points, namely village areas, fishing and industry. The results of this study indicate that the levels of the three Cisadane river water samples are positive for Triclosan with levels less than 0.3%, namely at the fishing point 598x10-9%, industrial point 1076x10-9% and residential point 1584x10-9% with a retention time of 19, 37 minutes.

Abstract

Discrimination is often directed at groups or individuals based on attributes they cannot change, such as gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or social status. Gender discrimination is one of the social issues that has become a major concern in various fields of study, including in the field of literature. This study aims to analyze and identify various forms of gender discrimination in the novel The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive with an objective approach. The data collection technique is carried out through reading and recording techniques. The results of the analysis show that gender discrimination in this novel can be identified in five main forms: marginalization, subordination, stereotyping, violence, and double burden. Marginalization can be seen through the treatment of women as objects of reproduction, subordination through power hierarchies that place women in a lower position, stereotypes through derogatory views of women's abilities, violence through physical and psychological control, and double burdens through the dual roles that women must play without adequate support. This research provides insight into the social and cultural dynamics that affect women's lives, as well as increasing public awareness of gender issues that are often hidden in daily life.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that adheres to a democratic system. Democracy is a state in which sovereignty and supreme power are in the hands of the people and then run directly by representatives who have been elected under the general election system. The general election process is from the central government to regional heads, especially the lowest level of government, namely village head elections. Although village head elections are held at the lowest level, the political dynamics that accompany them are not low. One of the things that violates the village head elections that are rife is the practice of money politics. The purpose of this article or writing is to find out about the perceptions of students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Medan State University regarding the dangers of money politics in village head elections. As for the type of research conducted by the author, namely qualitative research and this type of research is descriptive analysis research then data collection techniques are more on observation and interviews. In this study, the authors conducted direct interviews with students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Medan State University. Based on the research results, money politics in village head elections is something or a tool that can endanger the electability of village head elections, because this can tarnish and tarnish the meaning of democracy. Another thing that can be found in the results of this study, is that the view of students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Medan State University towards money politics is something that is absolutely not beneficial in the long run for the community because if you see the use value for the progress of society then this can disrupt the development of the country if people's mindset cannot be critical and intelligent in determining leaders who will strive for the welfare of the community itself in the future. The practice of money politics can be prevented through implementing political education or socializing the dangers of money politics itself among the younger generation.

Abstract

The rainbow connection number of a graph G denoted by rc(G) is the minimum number of colors used to color the edges in G, such that every pair of vertices is connected by a path with all different colors. In 2008, Chartrand et al. first introduced the concept of rainbow connection numbers. They introduced it as an edge coloring on a graph that refers to the path of each pair of vertices. An octopus graph, with m legs denoted by Om, is a graph constructed from a fan graph Fm and a star graph Sm. The graphs studied in this article are two classes of octopus iteration graphs, namely the octopus chain graph and the octopus ladder graph. The octopus chain graph, denoted by O2(n) is a graph constructed from n copies of O2 and connecting one leg of the i-th copy to the (i+1)-th copy, for every I = 1,2,..., n-1. The octopus ladder graph, denoted by O2'(n) is a graph constructed from graph O2(n) by connecting one of vertex of degree two of the i-th copy to the (i+1)-th copy. In this research, we determine the rainbow connection number of the octopus chain graphs O2(n) and the octopus ladder graphs O2'(n). We obtain that rc(O2(n))=3n, for n >= 1 and rc(O2'(n))=3n-1,  for n >= 2.Keywords: Classes of octopus iteration graphs; Octopus chain graph; Octopus ladder graph; Rainbow connection number. Abstract

School Health Business (UKS) is a program that aims to promote a healthy lifestyle among students. Health services at UKS include providing medicine for students who experience minor illnesses. However, a shortage of pharmacists in schools can increase the risk of errors in medication management and threaten patient safety. Teachers play an important role in providing first aid and coordinating medical emergencies at school. Teachers also play a role in providing education about health to students, including correct medication management. This activity aims to increase the understanding and awareness of UKS managers about the importance of correct medication management, as well as encouraging behavioral changes in obtaining, using, storing and disposing of medication (DAGUSIBU) correctly. The activities were carried out using counseling, outreach and mentoring methods for Teachers and students at SD Muhammadiyah 16 and 52.The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in teachers' and students' understanding of drug management, especially drug storage.
