Abstract

Artificial photosynthesis modelling of Ca-Pc-PDI complex Ca Phthalocyanine Perylenediimide), and dendrimer molecule using Density of Functional Theory (DFT) Method has been studied to showed the energy efficiency of these compounds in terms of electron transfer in photosynthesis. The Analysis of Ca-Pc-PDI and dendrimer compound and also chlorophyl has been done in all computations using the GAMESS-US software. The computations result in this research showed that the large wavelength complex compounds of Ca-Pc-PDI obtained was 138.3299 nm and energy efficiency obtained was 0.89 eV. The data analysis states that the absorption of harvest light energy of complex compounds Ca-Pc-PDI lies in the far UV spectrum. The other side, the polyphenylene dendrimer structure molecular orbital analyses it was found that the dendrimer was capable of electron transfers as indicated by the existence of HOMO and LUMO and result comparisons with chlorophyll. UV wavelengths of the polyethylene dendrimer and chlorophyll, respectively, suggesting that the polyphenylene dendrimer is capable of substituting chlorophyll in artificial photosyntheses. We can states from the result that these compound ability to be applied in the modeling of artificial photosynthesis as a material of energy absorption that mimics the workings of chlorophyll in terms of electron transfer in natural photosynthesis process. Abstract

The use of coal in power plant activities will produce solid waste in the form of fly ash and bottom ash. Alternative management to reduce the volume of ash waste is through utilization. Therefore, this study aims to determine the toxic characteristics of bottom ash fly ash waste, determine the physical properties of the compressive strength of paving blocks and bricks from the substitution of fly ash and bottom ash, as well as the most optimal proportion of substitution of the product based on the compressive strength parameter. Compatibility of Toxic Waste Characteristics is carried out through the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) test. Variation of optimal substitution for compressive strength is known through variations of fly ash and bottom ash substitution, for brick products which are 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%, and for paving blocks which are 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40%. Through the TCLP test, it is known that the waste is below the TCLP A and TCLP B quality standards so it can be categorized as non toxic and hazardous waste. The results of using fly ash and bottom ash in brick products meet the requirements for compressive strength according to SNI 03-0349-1989. The results of using fly ash and bottom ash in paving block products meet the requirements for compressive strength according to SNI 03-0691-1996. The optimal variation of fly ash substitution for bricks is with 5% fly ash substitution that produces a compressive strength value of 201.42 kg/cm2 and paving blocks with 10% fly ash substitution that produces a compressive strength value of 225.01 kg/cm2. The optimal variation of bottom ash substitution for brick is with 5% bottom ash substitution that produces a compressive strength value of 226.30 kg/cm2 and for paving block is with 10% bottom ash substitution that produces a compressive strength value of 308.22 kg/cm2.

Abstract

Coal is a crucial energy source with varying quality levels. It is formed by the accumulation of organic sediments mixed with carbon, resulting from the diagenesis process of plant elements. This study aims to determine the Total Sulfur (TS) and Calorific Value (CV) of coal, which are essential factors in assessing coal quality and economic value. The American Standard Testing and Material (ASTM) method is employed to ensure consistency and standardization in the analysis. From an analysis of six samples, the total sulfur content was determined to be 1.98% for sample A, 1.88% for sample B, 2.06% for sample C, 0.14% for sample D, 0.70% for sample E and 0.18% for sample F. Additionally, the calorific value were determined to be 6267 Cal/g for sample A, 6126 Cal/g for sample B, 6234 Cal/g for sample C, 5189 Cal/g for sample D, 4986 Cal/g for sample E and 3917 Cal/g for sample F. Based on the total sulphur analysis sample D, sample E and sample F can be used in the cement burning process because their total sulphur content is less than 0.8%. Meanwhile, based on the calorific value analysis sample A, sample B and sample C can be used the cement burning process because their calorific value above 6000 Cal/g. Abstract

Research of ethanol made from suweg tuber flour (Amorphophallus camapanulatus BI.) with the addition of NPK as nutrition Saccharomyces cerevisiae, has been done. The ethanol making process consists of hydrolysis, fermentation, distillation, and testing carried out by Gas Chromatography. The hydrolysis stage is carried out by adding α-amylase and glucosyl amylase in order to break the polysaccharide chain into monosaccharide. The fermentation stage is carried out with time variation and NPK concentration. It can be seen that the addition of nutrients of 3.70 g (2%) NPK with a 7 day fermentation time resulted in the most optimum ethanol concentration of 67.357% and an ethanol volume of 7 mL.
