Abstract

This study aims to model the diet menu problem based on a Boolean Linear Programming approach. A balanced diet is the key to a healthy lifestyle. A balanced diet is a diet that combines foodstuffs in the right amount of food components in one menu (dishes using certain recipes). When you have an unbalanced diet, your body will not get the right amount of nutrients. This is what causes the importance of managing the diet menu. Because of that, a diet menu problem model was formed based on the Boolean Linear Programming approach to cover a varied range of daily diet menu management and meet daily nutritional needs while minimizing costs. The stages of establishing the diet menu problem model are carried out by determining the notations, parameters, variables, objective functions, and some constraints related to the diet menu.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to examine the penalty methods used in linear optimization. The main objective is to identify the advantages and disadvantages of each penalty method, as well as determine the specific context in which each method is most effective. This research belongs to the literature research type. The study is conducted on prepared cases to obtain the optimal result of each penalty method. Penalty methods and barrier methods are interrelated in optimization, especially in handling problems with constraints. The penalty method is used to start the solution search, while the barrier method is applied at the final stage to refine the solution. This is because the penalty method is able to provide an initial solution quickly, which can then be refined using the barrier method to better approach the constraint boundary.

Abstract

Distribution of agricultural commodities to processing industries requires quite large costs. This is caused by suboptimal allocation. Optimal allocation must take into account differences in transportation distribution costs in each destination area. Pamah Village has a corn commodity, corn which is produced during the harvest season. In each harvest season, the harvest is sold to 5 collectors. From these collectors, it is marketed to 12 corn processing industries. In optimizing allocation and minimizing distribution costs, it is completed using a fuzzy approach and the North West Corner method to get an initial solution, as well as the Fuzzy Modified Distribution method to get an optimal solution. The results of this research resulted in distribution of deliveries from 5 collectors to 12 corn processing industries with a minimum total cost of Rp 1,410,507,435.00.

Abstract

This paper explores positions of hadith and ethics in discussing the genetic engineering of humans by departing from the following questions: a) how do hadith contribute to constructing various aspects of human genetics? b) how did the social context around Prophet Muhammad affect the construction of the hadith? c) how do hadith addressing human genetics relate to scientific development? This paper reveals that the ethics and process of genetic engineering are prescribed in the hadith, illuminating the contextual debates of its time. Issues of genetics that arise in the discourse of human existence, particularly regarding sex and skin color, show a contestation of values related to the position of genetic factors as undeniable. Scientific development provides answers to the increasingly complex and contestatory discourse on genetics and necessitates a paradigm shift in the Muslim community, which often places hadith as a believed and practiced textual truth

Abstract

This study examines the complicated logistics optimization issue known as the vehicle routing problem for multi-product and multi-suppliers(VRP-MPMS), which deals with the effective routing of a fleet of vehicles to convey numerous items from multiple suppliers to a set of consumers. In this problem, products from various suppliers need to be delivered to different customers while considering vehicle capacity constraints, time windows, and minimizing transportation costs. We propose a hybrid approach that combines a generalized reduced gradient method to identify feasible regions with a feasible neighborhood search to achieve optimal or near-optimal solutions. The aim of the exact method is to get the region of feasible solution. Then we explore the region using feasible neighborhood search, to get an integer feasible optimal (suboptimal) solution. Computational experiments demonstrate that our model and method effectively reduce transportation costs while satisfying vehicle capacity constraints and relaxed time windows. Our findings provide a viable solution for improving logistics operations in real-world scenarios.

Abstract

The pervasive influence of social networks on information dissemination necessitates robust strategies for understanding and mitigating the spread of rumors within these interconnected ecosystems. This research endeavors to address this imperative through the application of a graph neural network (GNN) model, designed to capture intricate relationships among users and content in social networks. The study integrates user-level attributes, content characteristics, and network structures to develop a comprehensive model capable of predicting the likelihood of rumor propagation. The proposed model is situated within a broader conceptual framework that incorporates sociological theories on information diffusion, user behavior, and network dynamics. The results of this research offer insights into the interpretability of the GNN model’s predictions and lay the groundwork for future investigations. The iterative refinement of the model, consideration of ethical implications, and comparison against traditional machine learning baselines emerge as crucial steps in advancing the understanding and application of deep learning methodologies for rumor control in social networks. By embracing the complexities of real-world scenarios and adhering to ethical standards, this research strives to contribute to the development of proactive tools for rumor management, fostering resilient and trustworthy online information ecosystems.
