Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of social support on adjustment in SMP Muhammadiyah Ajibarang students. This study uses a quantitative method with a scale of social support and adjustment. The research population was students of SMP Muhammadiyah Ajibarang with a sample of 110 students. The validity test in this study used the product moment, while the reliability test used the alpha cronbach technique. The social support scale has a reliability of 0.895 and the self-adjustment scale has a reliability of 0.901. The data technique used in this study is a simple regression analysis technique to determine the effect of social support on self-adjustment of SMP Muhammadiyah Ajibarang students. Based on the analysis of the data obtained, the Fcount value is 140,668 with p = 0.000 (p <0.05). From the results of data analysis at a significance level of 5%, a significant value was obtained (p) = 0.000 (p <0.05) so that the hypothesis proposed was accepted, namely was a significant influence between social support on self-adjustment in SMP Muhammadiyah Ajibarang students.

Abstract

This study explores self-disclosure among adolescents engaged in interfaith friendships. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews with four purposively sampled adolescent females. Analytical techniques included pattern matching, expansion generation, and time series analysis, with source triangulation employed to ensure credibility. The study identified five main themes of self-disclosure in these interfaith friendships: honesty, accuracy, amount, frequency and duration, depth, intent, and the positive-negative nature. Additional themes included the process of self-disclosure, the duration of the friendship, trust, tolerance, and joint activities. The findings suggest that self-disclosure in interfaith adolescent friendships involves sharing and learning about each other's religions, which fosters greater appreciation and tolerance of religious diversity. Future research should examine the long-term effects of self-disclosure in interfaith friendships on adolescents' social and psychological well-being.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of work ethic and work discipline on the performance of Muhammadiyah elementary school teachers in Tegal City. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing regression analysis to assess the relationships between these variables. The sample comprised 65 teachers from Muhammadiyah elementary schools in Tegal Regency. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. The analysis revealed that both work ethic and work discipline have a significant positive effect on teachers' performance. Specifically, work ethic enhances teacher performance, work discipline contributes positively to performance, and together, they substantially influence teachers' effectiveness.To further improve teacher performance, it is recommended that educational institutions implement programs designed to strengthen work ethics and enhance work discipline among teachers. Additionally, future research could explore other factors that may interact with work ethic and discipline to affect teacher performance, including institutional support and professional development opportunities.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the predictive power of organizational commitment and workplace incivility on organizational citizenship behavior among employees at Purbowangi General Hospital. Utilizing a quantitative approach with multiple regression analysis, this research involved 132 employees from the hospital. Data were collected using the Organizational Citizenship Behavior scale (26 items) adapted from Sharma and Jain (α = 0.969), the Organizational Commitment scale (16 items) adapted from Allen and Meyer (α = 0.693), and the Workplace Incivility scale (28 items) adapted from Martin and Hine (α = 0.942). Analysis results revealed an F-value of 83.597 (p < 0.001), indicating a significant positive effect of organizational commitment on organizational citizenship behavior. Conversely, an F-value of 171.919 (p < 0.001) showed a significant negative impact of workplace incivility on organizational citizenship behavior. Additionally, an F-value of 137.071 (p < 0.001) confirmed that both organizational commitment and workplace incivility significantly affect organizational citizenship behavior among employees at Purbowangi General Hospital. These findings underscore the importance of enhancing organizational commitment to promote positive organizational citizenship behaviors and reducing workplace incivility. Future research should consider longitudinal studies to assess how changes in organizational commitment and workplace incivility over time influence organizational citizenship behavior.

Abstract

Self-control is the ability to control one's urge to give in to their desires. Impulsive buying is a pattern of action or an unplanned choice to buy a product or service. Before making a purchase, the decision to buy happens abruptly and without warning. This study aims to determine self-control of impulsive buying among students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. A questionnaire-based data collection method was used to gather the data in this study with 134 female students from various faculties (Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Islam Education, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Psychology and Faculty of Agriculture) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The self-control scale instrument had a reliability value of 0.884, and the scale for impulsive buying had a reliability value of 0.851. Accidental sampling was employed to create the sample in this research. Based on research on the effect of self-control on impulsive buying among students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto in Purchasing Beauty Products, F = 18,138 and T = 4,259 with a value of p = 0.000 0.05. Thus supporting the hypothesis that self-control affected impulsive buying among female students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. As shown, self-control effectively counteracts impulsivity to 12%, while 88.0% comes from additional factors that were not included in the study.Kontrol diri merupakan perilaku yang menahan dirinya untuk keinginan dan hasrat seseorang dalam melakukan perilaku seperti halnya Impulsif buying adalah perilaku atau sebuah keputusan yang tidak terencana untuk membeli produk atau jasa. Keputusan untuk membeli ini terjadi secara tiba-tiba dan seketika sebelum melakukan pembelian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Kontrol Diri Terhadap Impulsif Buying Pada Mahasiswi Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kuisioner dengan responden 134 mahasiswi Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto yang tersebar di Fakultas Feb, Fikes, Fkip, Farmasi, Fai, Hukum, Tekhnik, Psikologi dan pertanian dengan instrument skala kontrol diri dengan nilai reliabilitas 0,884  dan skala impulsif  buying dengan nilai reliabilitas 0,851. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian menggunakan Accidental sampling. Berdasarkan analisis yang sudah dilakukan mengenai pengaruh control diri terhadap impulsif buying pada mahasiswi Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto dalam Pembelian Produk Kecantikan dengan nilai F = 18.138 dan T = 4.259 dengan nilai p = 0,000 < 0,05. Yang sehingga hipotesis diterima yaitu pengaruh kontrol diri terhadap impulsif buying pada mahasiswi Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. Hal tersebut dapat diketahui  12%  sumbangan efektif kontrol diri terhadap impulsif. Sedangkan 88.0% merupakan sumbangan dari faktor lainya yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan konflik peran ganda antara wanita pekerja formal dengan wanita pekerja informal, dan untuk memperoleh temuan tentang strategi coping pada wanita pekerja formal dan wanita pekerja informal dalam menghadapi konflik peran ganda. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi deskriptif dengan pendekatan  kuantitatif. Pengambilan data dengan menggunakan Observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara  konflik peran ganda wanita pekerja formal dengan wanita pekerja informal. Konflik peran ganda pada wanita pekerja formal lebih tinggi daripada konflik peran ganda pada wanita pekerja informal. Strategi coping yang digunakan oleh wanita pekerja formal dalam bentuk Emotion Based diantaranya : kontrol emosi, menyesal karena terkadang kesel dengan anak-anak, pergi bersama keluarga, melampiaskan masalah dengan teman kerja, dan dalam bentuk problem based diantaranya: kontrol emosi, menyesal karena terkadang kesel dengan anak-anak, pergi bersama keluarga, melampiaskan masalah dengan teman kerja.Kata kunci : konflik, pekerja formal, pekerja informal, strategi coping

Abstract

Guidance and counseling teachers require a wide range of abilities in order to serve as the foundation for students' self-awareness and character development. This community service seeks to assist instructors in developing new talents for early identification of student character and personality, particularly for kids with special needs, so that they may efficiently and maximally serve the organization. 27 counseling instructors from Muhammadiyah Middle and Senior High Schools in Banyumas Regency participate in this community service alongside partners. The training is delivered through lecture, discussion, worksheets, and practice with feedback. Finally, graphology training for counseling instructors at Muhammadiyah SLTP/SLTA in Banyumas Regency is an excellent way to convey the notion of projective assessments and graphology as a tool for assessing student personalities. Follow-up, post-training help in the field or workplace using the use of graphology exams to assess student personalities. Keywords: Graphology, Guidance and Counseling Teacher. ABSTRAK Guru bimbingan dan konseling membutuhkan banyak keterampilan untuk menjadi dasar bagi pemahaman diri siswa dan sebagai dasar untuk pengembangan karakter siswa. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membantu para guru memiliki kemampuan tambahan untuk deteksi dini karakter dan kepribadian siswa terutama pada siswa-siswa yang memiliki kebutuhan khusus, sehingga bisa menunjang kinerjanya secara efektif dan menunjang organisasi secara optimal. Pengabdian pada masyarakat ini menggunakan dengan mitra sejumlah 27 guru BK di SLTP/SLTA Muhammadiyah di Kabupaten Banyumas. Materi pelatihan grafologi yaitu dengan mengenalkan dan mempraktekkan berbagai hal, di antaranya: mengenal definisi, konsep dan sejarah, grafologi, dan psikologi perkembangan peserta didik Generasi Z. Pelaksanaan pelatihan dengan metode ceramah, diskusi, worksheet, dan praktik yang disertai umpan balik. Kesimpulannya, pelatihan grafologi untuk guru BK di SLTP/SLTA Muhammadiyah di Kabupaten Banyumas sangat tepat diterapkan sebagai salah satu upaya mengenalkan konsep tes proyektif dan grafologi sebagai alat membaca kepribadian siswa. Tindak lanjut, pendampingan pasca pelatihan di lapangan/tempat kerja tentang aplikasi tes grafologi dalam upaya mengenal kepribadian siswa. Kata kunci: Grafologi, Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling.

Abstract

Introduction: Periodontal ligament plays an essential role in preventing relapse after orthodontic treatment. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and propolis gel can increase the amount of fibroblast in the tension area during orthodontic treatment, thus affecting the periodontal ligament. This research was aimed to analyse the difference of the width of the periodontal ligament and amount of fibroblast in the tension area with the administration of propolis gel and HBOT in an attempt to prevent orthodontic relapse. Methods: Forty-two male guinea pigs were randomly divided into 7 groups of treatments― the untreated group (I – negative group), group with rubber separator (II – positive group), 3% propolis gel treatment group (III), 5% propolis gel treatment group (IV), the HBOT treatment group (V), combination of 3% propolis gel and HBOT treatment group, and combination of 5% propolis gel and HBOT treatment group. The upper left central incisor was extracted distally using a 14-days separator rubber in the positive group and the treatment group; then the separator rubber was removed for 2 days to conduct the relapse process. The data were analysed by LSD statistical test. Results: The result of the combination of HBOT and propolis gel treatment showed significant differences among all groups (p<0.05) in the width of the periodontal ligament (1.03), and the number of fibroblasts was 95.67 in the tension site. Conclusions: The combination of HBOT and propolis gel affect the width of periodontal ligament and the number of fibroblasts in the area of the orthodontic relapse.

Abstract

School health program is a program of preventive promotional activities in the field of dentistry using the method “trainer of trainer” or abbreviated as ToT. The program is organized by the Indonesian Association of Dentists (PDGI) together with dental faculties across Indonesia as trainers and multinational company as facilitator. The goal of this program is to create a generation of a nation that will be free of tooth cavities by 2030. Teachers and parents of students with special needs are the target audience for this training, enabling them to carry out morning and night toothbrushing activities for good dental and oral health. ToT's activities include two things: giving advice to teachers and students' parents and brushing their teeth in the morning and evening for 21 days. The problem is that children with special needs do not have the same abilities as other children in terms of receiving information, responding to teaching, and applying what has been taught. Low levels of independence and varying levels of learning difficulties are challenges for trainees. Special methods in teaching morning and night toothbrush activities should be applied well to both teachers and parents of students with special needs, such as how to brush their teeth, the habits of brushing the teeth properly, the use of special brushes, and tips and tricks that can be implemented by the teacher and parents so that children with special requirements can run the program.

Abstract

During adolescence, there is a shift in life priorities from parents to peers. Peer groups significantly influence adolescents' socialization, and the demands they place on adolescents sometimes transform into cross-pressures that manifest as stress. Perceived stress can act as a trigger for pressure on psychological well-being. This research explores the correlation between peer pressure and psychological well-being among adolescents. The independent variable in this study is peer pressure, measured using a modified version of the Peer Pressure Scale (Cronbach's coefficient alpha = 0.910). The dependent variable is psychological well-being, measured using a modified version of the Psychological Well-Being Scale (Cronbach's alpha = 0.770). The sample comprises 263 students aged 18-21 years at Universitas in Purwokerto. The research employed a quantitative approach, and the data analysis technique used Pearson's Product Moment Correlation. The results of this study reveal a Pearson's Product Moment Correlation value of -0.249, with a significance value (p) of 0.000 (p 0.05). This indicates a negative correlation between peer pressure and psychological well-being. The findings suggest that the higher the level of peer pressure experienced by adolescents, the lower their psychological well-being tends to be, and vice versa.
