Abstract

This study aimed to determine the performance management of sales people of fish marketing business. This research was conducted at the Sodohoa Fish Auction Place, Kendari City in September 2022. The location for the research was determined by purposively. Data were obtained through interviews with respondents using a questionnaire method. The sample was determined by using a simply random sampling technique with a total amount of respondent was 60 respondents. The method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method. The results showed that there were two groups of fish marketing business actors in fish auction in Sodohoa, namely salesmen and saleswomen. In general, saleswomen performance management in fish marketing was more better than salesmen performance. Partially, saleswomen were more better in planning and organizing aspects than salesmen, in a while, the salesmen were more better in actuating and controlling aspects

Abstract

The seaweed supply chain is a series of physical network activities of seaweed supply actors by actors involved in supplying, producing seaweed, and delivering it to end users. This study aims to determine; how the supply chain channel pattern and supply chain performance of seaweed commodities. This research was conducted in Bombana Regency from December 2022 to January 2023. Respondents in this study consisted of 1 collecting trader, 5 collecting traders and 5 seaweed farmers, which were determined by snowball sampling. Data were analyzed descriptively to answer the objectives of how the channel pattern and supply chain performance of seaweed commodities in Kabupaten Bombana. The results showed that the channel pattern of the seaweed supply chain in the client patron system in Kabupaten Bombana has two channels, namely (1) the cultivator to the collecting trader, then to the collecting trader, (2) the cultivator to the collecting trader. Furthermore, the performance of the seaweed supply chain in the client patron system is seen from the value of marketing margin and farmer's share which is divided into 2 channels. For channel I, namely; (1) marketing margin of seaweed type Eucheuma spinosum IDR 700,000 and type Eucheuma cottoni IDR 800,000, then (2) farmer's share of seaweed type Eucheuma spinosum 53.33% and type Eucheuma cottoni 73.33%. Then for channel II, namely; (1) marketing margin of seaweed type Eucheuma spinosum IDR 500,000 and Eucheuma cottoni type IDR 500,000, then (2) farmer's share of seaweed type Eucheuma spinosum 66.67% and seaweed type Eucheuma cottoni 83.33%. So that the marketing efficiency of the seaweed supply chain shows that the highest marketing margin is in channel I, while from the results of the analysis of the highest farmer's share is in channel II.

Abstract

The effort to realize a local development plan in achieve development vision one of the is make strong intervention in seaweed farming sector. This research is aims to develop a ready to process seaweed business development cluster, formulate institutional patterns of seaweed marketing in the center area of ​​seaweed Small and Medium Industries in Bombana Regency and integrating seaweed downstream into business incubation system in Bombana Regency. This research was conducted from July to November 2022 in Bombana Regency. The research show that Areas that are eligible to become seaweed business development zones in Bombana Regency are located in three clusters, namely Rumbia, Poleang and Kabaena. Of the three clusters, the Rumbia cluster is in the first hierarchy in the composition of the preparation of seaweed business development. Types of seaweed that have the potential to be developed in the Rumbia and Poleang clusters are: Eucheuma spinosum, Eucheuma cottoni and Gracilaria, while in the Kabaena cluster it is Eucheuma spinosum, Eucheuma cottoni. Processed seaweed products that can be recommended for production are:Alkali Treated Cottoni (ATC), Semi Refined Carrageenan (SRC) and Refined Carrageenan (RC) to support the development of the existing seaweed industry for the improvement of the regional economy. Sequentially the seaweed supply beach starts from the seaweed farmer (production margin 9,55%), seaweed farmer group (market margin 0,28%) cooperative society/BUMDES (market margin 11,61%), Agroindustry (PT. INRI with market margin 50,67% and buyer export. Seaweed agroindustry is a puller company that absorbs all seaweed production produced by seaweed farmer.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the production cost and profits in the floating fish trap fisheries Katela Village Tiworo Islands West Muna Regency, South East Sulawesi. This research was conducted in January 2021. Location was determined intentionally (purposive) using a simple random sample technique method so that 45 of 85 floating fish trap fishermen were selected as respondents. Primary data was obtained from floating fish trap fishermen by means of observation and interviews directly using structured questionnaires. Primary data collected include age, education, business experience, fishing costs, amount of production and market price, whereas secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of Tiworo Islands sub district that consists of population, geographical location, territorial boundaries, climate conditions and other data related to this study. The data obtained was calculated using the formula of total cost, cost of production, and profit. The results of the analysis showed that the cost of production in the floating fish trap fisheries was the lowest of IDR5,440/kg, and the highest up to IDR10,216/kg. Profits in the floating fish trap fisheries were the lowest at IDR3,145,836/month, and the highest at IDR4,729,329/month, with an average of IDR3,967,405/month. Therefore, the fishermen of floating fish trap in Katela village is categorized as having very high income thus it is very important to maintain the fisheries in order to create a better fishermen welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the the demand of PT. Holi Osean Indonesia and the readiness of PT. Tofico as a seller of red snapper. Also, business processes starting from planning to buying and selling transactions between PT. Tofico as a seller in Indonesia and PT. Holi Osean Indonesia as a buyer in China was reviewed. Research conducted at PT. Tofico Ocean Fisheries Port (PPS) Kendari City in June 2022. Data obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis used was descriptive qualitative analysis. The study showed that the demand for red snapper commodity at PT. Holi Osean Indonesia in China to PT. Tofico in Indonesia every month was 3.250 kg/month and can be fulfilled by PT. Tofico. The export business process started from PT. Tofico in Indonesia prepared red snapper commodities based on the quality standard of PT. Holi Osean Indonesia. Frozen red snapper then would be sent to China via the Kendari new port container operated by PT. Tanto. The shipping insurance was paid to ensure the safety of the commodity at the Chinese port. PT. Holi Osean Indonesiab then picked up the commodity in question at the Chinese port to be delivered and marketed in China.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of education with the quality of work of employees at PT. Triko Bina Nusantara. this research was conducted in Dongkala village, Pasarwajo district, Buton regency during September to October 2020. the method used in this study is the census method, with a total of 30 respondents. the analysis used is chi-square. the data consists of the level of education and quality of work of employees. the results showed that the relationship between the level of education and the quality of work has a significance value of 0,319>(0,05), which means that there is no relationship between the level of education with the quality of work of employees at PT. Triko Bina Nusanatara.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) examine the cost of good sold received by octopus fisherman (2) assess the profit margins of octopus fisheram using hook fishing gear every time fishing trip. This research was conducted in the West Waitii Village, Tomia District Wakatobi Regency in March-April 2020. The method used in this study was census method with a number of respondents 32 people. Primary data was collected by direct interviews using a questionnaire, including fuel costs, conmsumption, number of catches pertrip, and selling prices, while secondary data consisted of population, education level nuber of dependents of fisherman’s families, and other data related to this research. The data analyzed using the formula Fixed Costs and Variable Costs, Total Costs. The standard deviation is used to identify and provide an overview of the distribution of the data to the average data, and to categorize costs. The results of the analysis show that: (1) The cost of goods soldfor octopus fisheran average is Rp8.887.(2) The average profit of fisherman cacthing octopus with hook fishiing gear is Rp160.599/Trip. Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence fishermen to sell their fish catch in outside of the Kendari PPS company. The population in this study were fishermen who sold their catch within the Kendari PPS company and outside the Kendari PPS company totaling 80 vessels with a size of 30 GT, sampled by accidental sampling to meet 35 respondents. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation from respondents which were then tabulated and analyzed using Multi Criteria Analysis (MCA) to achieve the research objectives. As a result, there are 6 factors that influence fishermen to sell their catch outside PPS companies, namely price, company provisions, facilities, sources of capital, completeness, and ease of access. Of the six factors, the price difference indicator appears as the most dominant factor influencing. Thus to be able to meet the number of fishermen who sell outside PPS, the main variable that needs to be considered is the occurrence of price differences.

Abstract

Seaweed distribution is the process of sending seaweed from producers to consumers. This study aimed to determine distribution, distribution patterns, and distribution efficiency in the seaweed commodity business. This research was conducted in Bombana Regency, from February to March 2022. Respondents were classified into 3 groups namely, seaweed farmers, small traders and big traders. Samples of each group were chosen purposively (purposive random sampling) the interview with each respondent used snowball sampling. The data collected includes the characteristics of the respondents, the characteristics of the seaweed business, and the minimum costs. The data were analyzed descriptively qualitative to answer the objective of how the distribution and pattern of distribution of seaweed in Bombana Regency was used, while the Least Cost method was used to answer the goal of seaweed distribution efficiency. The results showed that there were 4 seaweed distribution channels, namely: (1) seaweed farmers to small traders to big traders then to industry, (2) seaweed farmers to small traders to big traders then to exporters, (3) seaweed farmers to big traders then to industry, and (4) seaweed farmers to big traders then to the exporter. The amount of seaweed production distributed from seaweed farmers to small traders averaged 361.11 kg, while from small traders to wholesalers an averaged 3,817 kg, and from wholesalers to industry an average of 735 kg. The largest amount of seaweed production is from wholesalers to exporters with an average of 5,591 kg. The efficiency of distribution with the lowest cost occurs in distribution from seaweed farmers directly to big traders and from big traders to exporters

Abstract

The demand for exports from several Asian countries makes fishery commodities a superior product that is able to provide profits to help the national economy. Southeast Sulawesi has an Ocean Fishing Port (OFP) as the center of an integrated fishing industry in the eastern part of Indonesia that is able to increase fisheries production and is an inter-island trade route. This study aims to determine the feasibility of fish export business at PT. Hui Mei Wei Aquatic Product Trading in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi. This research was conducted in June 2022. The research method used is a case study. Research data is collected in the form of total costs (fixed costs and variable costs), production amount, selling prices of fish, and receipts. The data was analyzed using the business feasibility formula, namely the R/C Ratio. The results of this study showed that the R/C Ratio was 1.68. This means that every expenditure of Rp1 by the industry will get revenue of Rp1.68. thus, the fish export business carried out by PT.  PT. Hui Mei Wei Aquatic Product Trading is worthy of development.
