Abstract

This study aims to develop a measuring instrument that can measure how self-confident adolescents are in making career decisions. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. There were 262 young high school students in class XI SMA in Bandung Regency who filled out the Career Decision Making Self Efficacy (CDMSE) questionnaire . The Career Decision Making Self Efficacy measuring tool was adapted from the short form CDMSE measuring tool developed by Taylor and Betz (1996). Construct validity was carried out by confirmatory factor analysis using lisrel 8.8. The reliability of the measuring instrument uses the CR (Contract Reliability) value. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis of the measuring instrument show that the measurement model fits the data. Likewise with the reliability of this measuring instrument. Based on this, it can be said that the short form of the Career Decision Making Self Efficacy tool has good validity and reliability and can be used for adolescent subjects in Indonesia

Abstract

Abstract

The shame belongs to negative emotions, which in many psychological studies are associated with negative behaviors. The discomfort that a person experiences when he feels shame is associated with the emergence of negative behavior. Indonesians, especially people in Pekanbaru City who are closely attached to the teachings of Islam, view Shame as a more positive. Feeling uncomfortable will make people control their behavior and avoid shameful behavior. This study investigated the correlation between shame-proneness and Customer Oriented-Organizational Citizenship Behavior (CO-OCB) on 331 civil servants from 15 Pekanbaru government instances randomly selected. Result suggest that shame-proneness has a positive relationship with CO-OCB (r = 233, p = 0.00). Compared to felt-shame, the dimension of anticipatory shame has a higher correlation coefficient with CO-OCB and its dimensions (helping behavior, sportsmanship, organization loyalty, organization compliance, individual initiative, and civic virtue) except self-development. Civil servants need to internalize the shame to violate the rules so that they tend to act according to the rules and provide the best for the organization in which they work.

Abstract

Purpose: In this study, parental mediation is explained through the perception of children about their parents’ behavior. Methods: This study used a non-experimental descriptive method and described the following four strategies: active co-use, interaction restriction, technical restriction, and monitoring. The measurement tool used was a questionnaire on children’s perceptions of parental mediation. Data were collected from 240 children aged 9–12 years from two elementary schools. Results: The results showed that children perceived their parents to use the strategy of active co-use and interaction restriction at a moderate level, and monitoring at a low level. In the strategy of technical restriction, the data show that most children perceived that their parents did not use technical means to restrict internet use. Conclusions: Children perceived their parents as moderately involved in guiding and restricting Internet use, but with limited monitoring and minimal use of technical restrictions. This highlights the need for more balanced mediation strategies. Limitations: This study relied solely on children's perceptions. Future research should collect data from parents and children for comparative purposes. Contribution: This study contributes on the perception of children of Parental Mediation on Internet Use

Abstract

This current study aims to adapt the Work Regulatory Focus Scale into the Indonesian version, following the International Test Commission (ITC) Guidelines for Test Adaptation. Thisis cross-sectional study involved 218 participants from a local bank with several branches in Indonesia. Confirmatory Factor Analysis using Lisrel 8.80 was employed to analyze the data. Regulatory focus and work engagement are correlated to determine convergent validity, while CR (Construct Reliability) evaluates reliability. The results of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis indicate that the Work Regulatory Focus Scale model fits the data best (RMSEA = .073, NFI = .94, CFI = .96, Standardized RMR = .065, and AGFI = .93, p = .000). The scale also demonstrates good reliability, with a CR value of .798 for promotion focus and .778 for prevention focus. Furthermore, a relationship between work regulatory focus and work engagement was found. These findings indicate that the Work Regulatory Focus has good psychometric properties and provides supports for applicability in the Indonesian context.
