Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the FIFA 11+ Kids program to increase muscle strength in children aged 11-12 years. This research uses experimental research with a pretest-posttest control group design. Twenty people were sampled in this study, divided into two groups: the treatment group and the control group. Purposive sampling was used in determining the research sample. The subject matching A-B-B-A technique was used to divide the treatment group and the control group. The instrument in this study is to measure arm muscle strength using a push-up test, measure leg muscle strength using a leg dynamometer test, and measure abdominal muscle strength using a sit-up test. Data analysis in this study used a paired sample t-test with a significance level of 5%. The results of the study in the treatment group showed a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05), a significant value of leg strength was 0.004 (p<0.05), while a significant value of abdominal strength was 0.000 (p<0.05). Coaches and athletes can use the implications of this research as an injury prevention method for child footballers.

Abstract

Hypertension in children is a serious threat due to a sedentary modern lifestyle. Low physical activity and high screen time are strongly suspected to be risk factors for increased blood pressure. Objective: To analyze the relationship between physical activity levels and television viewing/lying down duration with blood pressure in school-aged children in Mluweh Village. Methods: This observational study involved 105 students (6-17 years old) selected by total sampling. Blood pressure was classified based on the 2017 AAP Clinical Practice Guideline standards. Physical activity and television viewing/lying down duration were measured using a modified GPAQ questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test (α = 0.05). Results: The majority of respondents had light physical activity (64.7%) and high television viewing/lying down duration (94.3%). Statistical analysis showed no significant relationship between physical activity levels and blood pressure (p = 0.814). However, a statistically significant relationship was found between television viewing/lying down duration and blood pressure (p = 0.027). Conclusion: High television viewing/lying down time exceeding 2 hours per day is a strong predictor of increased blood pressure in children. Limiting screen time from an early age is necessary to minimize the risk of long-term cardiovascular disorders.

Abstract

Smart homes have experienced rapid development with the adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The use of IoT in the context of home security provides the ability to control, monitor, and secure the home environment more efficiently and effectively. However, the increasing connection of these devices also brings significant security risks, such as threats to personal data, privacy, and system integrity. This study explores the latest approaches and technologies in securing IoT-based homes. The main focus is on identifying and mitigating security risks that arise from the connectivity of devices such as CCTV cameras, door sensors, alarm systems, and other control devices. The research method involves analyzing the communication protocols used, access rights management, and the implementation of encryption and other security techniques. The overall system success percentage is 85%, which shows quite good performance. However, to improve the quality of the system, further attention is needed to the stability of the internet network used by NodeMCU. In conclusion, the integration of IoT in smart homes promises convenience and comfort, but must be accompanied by serious efforts to ensure user security and privacy are maintained.

Abstract

Hypertension remains a public health problem in Indonesia, affecting both the elderly and those of productive age. Low awareness of the importance of health check-ups and a healthy lifestyle is a key contributing factor. This activity, organized by UNNES Community Service Program GIAT 12 students, was held in Mluweh Village, East Ungaran District, with the aim of increasing community awareness and participation in hypertension prevention efforts through an educational and participatory approach. Three main programs were implemented: a fun walk with students from MTs Mujahidin, blood pressure measurements for the elderly and school-age children, and group exercise with the community. The methods used included field observation, focus group discussions, health education, and two blood pressure measurements as a form of screening. The results of the activity demonstrated high community participation, with the majority of children having normal blood pressure and the elderly having low blood pressure. The program also demonstrated that simple physical interventions such as fun walks and exercise are well-received and have the potential to increase long-term health awareness. This activity provides recommendations for routine screening and the ongoing integration of healthy lifestyle education into community and school activities.

Abstract

Football is one of the sports with the highest risk of injury, with injuries to children around 3% per year with serious injuries occurring at only 0.69% per year. The objective of the study is to investigate the application of FIFA 11+ Kids in minimizing sports injuries in youth football through enhancement components of physical condition, namely, leg muscle power and muscle flexibility. This study is an quasi-experimental research by using a pre-test - post-test control group design. The sample in this study are 20 people, divided into control and treatment groups. In this study, the sample is determined using a purposive sampling technique, with the following inclusion criteria: 1) male, 2) 11-12 years old, 3) practicing football regularly, 3) willing to be a research sample. In contrast, the criteria exclusion is experienced injured and unwilling to be a research sample. The distribution of control and treatment groups using matching subject ABBA technique. Instruments used in this research are the standing broad jump test to measure leg muscle power and sit and reach test to measure muscle flexibility. The data analysis is a t-test regression analysis with a level of 5% significance. This study found that the application of FIFA 11+ Kids can be used as a method to minimize sports injuries in youth football. The limitation of this study is that the sample is limited to only 20 children. This research is important because it contributes to the science of football coaching in terms of preventing injuries to children. Future research is expected to thoroughly examine the components of other physical conditions related to injury prevention, and use a larger sample from various age groups of soccer school students.

Abstract

Background Problems: Sports injuries are a severe problem that can affect an athlete's career, including those active in team sports such as basketball, volleyball, and futsal. Research Objectives: This study aims to analyse the potential risk of injury and the level of flexibility of amateur athletes at Universitas Negeri Semarang. Methods: This research is a quantitative descriptive study using the sampling technique, namely purposive sampling, to obtain a total sample of 90 athletes. Instruments to measure the potential risk of injury use the functional movement screen (FMS) and the level of flexibility using the sit-and-reach test. The data analysis techniques use descriptive statistical analysis. Findings and Results: The results of the FMS analysis showed that most male and female amateur athletes had a low level of injury risk. Flexibility measurements show that most male and female amateur athletes have good flexibility. This study contributes to understanding the potential risk of injury and the level of flexibility in amateur team sport athletes. Conclusion: The findings can assist coaches and teams in designing more effective training programmes to improve athletes' physical health and performance. Further research is recommended to analyse other physical condition component variables, as well as research subjects from different age groups. In addition, it is also recommended that more research samples from various levels of athletes be examined.
