Abstract

For conducting academic activities at the University of Bangka Belitung (UBB), it has become necessary to have access to services of internet network (WiFi). Ineffective responses to network failure and poor network connectivity indicate that there has not been appropriate technical service management despite such high dependence on WiFi services at UBB. The objective of this study is to evaluate the WiFi network quality at UBB and propose a strategy for improving IT governance. The problem will be addressed by utilizing the combination of ITIL 4 methodology as a basis for development of SOPs and ServQual approach for assessment of the gap between customers' expectations and perceptions. Poor results were found in all five service quality dimensions as assessed empirically based on 376 student respondents. Responsiveness (-2.30) and Reliability (-1.85) were found to be the dimensions where there was the greatest difference. The improvement recommendations proposed by this study in relation to ITIL 4 framework are linked to three important practices: Incident Management, Service Desk, and Service Level Management, which aim at rectifying the managerial deficiencies identified in the study. There is an expectation that the information technology support services will shift towards a proactive approach aimed at creating shared value.

Abstract

Determining the priority for the rehabilitation of former tin-mining land is still done manually, so the assessment process is time-consuming and can introduce subjectivity into decision-making. Differences in land conditions based on several criteria make the process of determining rehabilitation priorities more complex, so a system capable of providing objective and structured recommendations is needed. This study aims to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) using the ARAS (Additive Ratio Assessment) method to determine rehabilitation priorities for former tin mining land. The ARAS method is used through the stages of determining criteria and weights, normalizing the decision matrix, calculating utility values, and ranking alternative land areas. The results show that the system is able to generate rehabilitation priority recommendations in accordance with the results of manual calculations, and helps the decision-making process become more effective and efficient. Testing using the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) method yielded an error of 13.3%, which falls within the good category. These results indicate that the system has a fairly high level of accuracy in supporting the determination of rehabilitation priorities for former tin mining land.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi telah memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk dalam bidang pendidikan tinggi. Dalam era globalisasi yang semakin kompetitif, perguruan tinggi memiliki peran penting dalam mengembangkan sumber daya manusia (SDM) yang berkualitas. Universitas Bangka Belitung (UBB) sebagai salah satu perguruan tinggi di Indonesia berfokus pada pengembangan mahasiswa berprestasi untuk meningkatkan kualitas lulusannya. Namun, Program Studi Teknologi Informasi (TI) di UBB menghadapi kendala dalam pendataan mahasiswa berprestasi yang masih menggunakan cara manual seperti pencatatan dalam buku atau spreadsheet. Hal ini menyebabkan permasalahan seperti kehilangan data, redundansi, dan inefisiensi dalam pengelolaan data prestasi mahasiswa. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, diperlukan sistem pendataan berbasis daring yang dapat mengintegrasikan seluruh data dalam satu platform. Sistem ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keamanan, efisiensi dan konsistensi data, serta memudahkan akses dan pengelolaan informasi. Metode Extreme Programming (XP) digunakan dalam pengembangan sistem ini, dengan tujuan untuk menciptakan solusi yang efektif dan efisien, mengurangi beban kerja manual, serta meningkatkan transparansi dan akuntabilitas dalam pengelolaan prestasi mahasiswa. Sistem ini akan difokuskan pada Program Studi Teknologi Informasi di UBB.
